					Piston angle bug?

			| Recently I've encountered a bug when working with pistons & dynamic objects. For example, I'll attach a piston to push a dynamic object horizontally. All will appear to be working correctly when I save and exit LBP. When I load the level and resume editing, the piston will be moving the object diagonally (instead of the original horizontal direction). This doesn't happen with every piston I use, but it's happening with such frequency that I began to suspect user error on my part. Has anyone else encountered this "bug"? | 2010-09-07 22:00:00 Author: Unknown User |
| This is a pretty common issue, and from what I've encountered, it is random as to which pistons will encounter a problem. The best way to avoid it (and it may not always work), is to set the objects to static when you don't need them to be moving. This usually helps to avoid some of the shifting issues for me, though when I un-static them, they can sometimes still go crazy. Maybe give that a try and let me know if it helps at all :-) | 2010-09-07 22:24:00 Author: amazingflyingpoo Posts: 1515 |
| Yep, it has happened to me, but I have learned some tricks to avoid it. One of them is that one that AFP says (believe me, if there's someone who knows about LBP PSP, it's AFP ). Another is trying to evade objects collide, because it is almost sure that your mechanism will break if there are objects colliding , specially at very high speed. Another one is trying to attach more that one piston to your object if it is to big, because it tends to go lower and lower and lower. Hope that helps! | 2010-09-09 07:35:00 Author: rOckalOvEer x73 Posts: 112 |
