Star Trak: The Fastfood FrontierKaiju_kid
http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af146/savvylikeyeahhh/MACROs/spockwin.jpgThe U.S.S.Cheddarfries - Fastfood courier ship. It's mission? To deliver fastfood in 30 minutes or less to any quadrant. Please tip, or suffer a vulcan pinch.
(A Star Trek paradoy)
Captains log... we have a new recruit on the ship, his name... Sackster. He's wearing a red crewman shirt, so we don't expect him to live long. None the less, we are sending him on his first delivery to a strange new planet called Qu'nos, Home of a race called Klangons. We're running a bit late, but I'm sure these Klangons are an understanding people, and will leave Sackster a generous tip. Beam him down Spotty!
My first PSP attempt at a movie/t.v. parody - Star Trek. It would be a feeble attempt to make a Star Wars one, as that license has been done so well by a certain taffinian, that anything else would be, well...illogical. Of particular notice, I spent alot of time on the character models, and they animate, and are part of the playing feild. I wanted their likenesses to really shine through, and I hope you agree. Go play this - warp speed!

No pics, no time. I will update later, or, if someone would be so generous as to upload some to my thread, that'd be ..out of this world.

Yeah, about that... I was trying to adhear to the classic Star Trek asthetic which is completely basic. Every room is either blue, red, purple, or white. The walls are bare, and they are just well, square. I hope you don't hold that againdt me since I knew it would be brought up, lol. As you can tell from the characters, I can work the corner editor pretty well, heh. Thanks !

Whatever,ZOMG!!! awesome characters!!! Oops, wait a sec...*whispers* keep you?re cool Bal,just keep your cool.Ahem! l mean...the characters were not good at all, they obviously needed more work on everything. No! sackter?s dead Jim! Hahaha!!! yeah, that part was not funny at all,you have no sense of humor. What?s this? an awesome 3D spaceship at the end? that?s the worst (awesome) way to end a level...show off.Ok,l rated it 5 stars and a heart, but don't get the wrong idea,l just feel bad for you and since this level is so (awesome) lame...that?s the only heart this level?s gonna get.Keep making levels like this, they make barf from happiness...l mean...horribleness...yes,that?s what l meant.

Hey Buddy!!

Sorry for the late feedback!!

Your levels are joy to play!! Laughter is a great thing, and you know how to tell a funny story!! This levels is another masterpiece by you. Everything was incredible, the character designs were all flawless. I loved all the dialogue (I always love your dialogue), when Captain Jirk was talking, I actually heard Shattner's pauses!! Spork looks awseome!! You have a very original and unique way of platforming in your levels. Your platforming segments are always awesome, because it is like the total opposite way I do it!! And for that reason I love it!! Does that make sense? This level looked great man, from the characters to the ship (Cheddarfries!! LOL!!), inside and out. The delivery run was awesome. It was a great finish to a great level!!

You always come up with new and fresh ideas for all your levels, your imagination seems boundless.

Another heart. <3

I still owe you feedback for Nascow, b-coli is still waiting for some results.

Later dude!!

I really loved this level, it is great. Before I continue, I must that I've never really been into Star Trek. *gasp*

Though I know a bit and this was a pretty good parody. I love the characters and the ship is awesome (though your material choice for the heads is odd. The borders are too thick). The level is fantastic, I didn't mean to complain or anything. You are a fantastic creator, and I look forward to anything that has your name on it.

Lt. Velcro - Your platforming segments are always awesome, because it is like the total opposite way I do it!! And for that reason I love it!! Does that make sense? No, that makes no sense whatsoever. Actually, it seems that way because as I'm creating I have a second PSP running your level, and I say Hmm, what would Velcro do here...Ahhh! I better do the opposite ! And so, a complete nega-velcro level is formed, lol.

Captain James T. Rule - I love the characters (though your material choice for the heads is odd. The borders are too thick). That's because they're thick headed...hahahaha, I kill me. Seriously though, I really meant it when I wanted the characters likenesses to stand out, so the white outline really catches your eye that way and seperates it from the dark backgound and whatnot. If I make asequal, I may consider using less thick material.

Thanks Rand P, glad you enjoyed it.
Not sure if it was worth rebuying LBP psp to play it, lol. I was afraid the appeal of the level would be limited to just fans familiar with the show, but I hope it's still okay as a stand alone level. It's kinda tame compared to the last platformr level I did which was pretty challenging. Thanks for the feedback!

But about the level the character design was cool, and I like the ship-part the best I liked it even though i dont watch the show.

If I were ever to marry a level, it would be this one. (Nobody tell my wife though, she probably wouldn't appreciate it .)

O. M. G. This is SO funny! You have done classic Star Trek a true justice with this level, and it's dead-on hilarious. There are just tons of little jokes everywhere, from Sulu's ripped shirt to the captain's log to the "Borger King". LOL See? I can't even type it without getting the giggles. You killed me with this one, you really did.

Your characters and sticker art are cartoony and awesome, and your caricatures are truly excellent. You made all of the crew members your own way and totally unique, and yet they are all instantly recognizable without any other context. I can tell you've spent a lot of time watching the series, and it shows. The corner editing and visuals are perfect for classic Trek - monotone with basic shapes. I think I even recognized some of the rooms from the original NCC-1701.

I don't have lots of complaints for you on this one. Honestly I was too busy being completely entertained to notice much. I played it again and did find a couple nit-picks for you though, because it's what I do. There's a couple places where I'd like an extra checkpoint, such as right after Captain Jirk (ROFL). I died on the spilled bathroom goo and it was kind of a pain to redo that section of platforming. The same thing goes for the fast food delivery section towards the end of the level where you have to push the takeout box into the transporter. The last thing I noticed is that when you pop out of that transporter chute you catch the tinest little glimpse of the bottom of the level, but only for a split second. Yes, these are very, VERY tiny gripes and they don't detract from the level or the game play at all.

You just really did a killer job on this level all around - it's got the whole package! And really, is there a better combination than space and funny? Five red-shirted stars and a beamed down heart for you.

I liked this level SO much I even got you a couple presents. First, I managed to make a half-decent Star Trek costume. From the recent Robin Hood DLC pack use the "Sheriff eyes" (you can maybe also use the eyes from the Uncharted pre-order DLC). Then add "slicked hair", "black shoes", "black trousers", and "track suit top". Yes, unfortunately it's not the proper blue color but it still does make a convincing Spock.

AND, I got pictures for you. I'll be leaving these hosted on my Photobucket account indefinitely so feel free to link directly to these.

Wow, thats awesome Taff! So glad you liked it,as I know you're a Trek fan. I don't even think half the people know that sulu without the shirt and a fencing sword is from a very famous episode called The Naked time. Looking at the play to heart ratio on this level, you're one of few Trek fans lol. I think I may have got so caught up in capturing the flavor of the show, that I kind of left the gameplay my second priority. The light hearted platforming doesn't seem to be winning too many casual players hearts. Oh well, I still love it and know for a fact it's the best Trek level on PSP, because I searched before doin mine and there was like only one where the creator even attmepted to make the characters even recognizable. If I decide to make a sequal, I'll try to balance out the theme and gameplay a bit better.

I died on the spilled bathroom goo and it was kind of a pain to redo that section of platforming. The same thing goes for the fast food delivery section towards the end of the level where you have to push the takeout box into the transporter.
By the way, I totally agree with you about the continue gates being needed in those areas, but I literally only had 1 bar and a half of thermo, and I still had not added the klingons or the end gate. Once I did, the thermo was full and would not even let me add a sticker, which is why the Bird of Prey ship looks a bit anemic, lol.
Thanks x 100 for the pics buddy!

Time to hook you up with some feedback Kaiju_Kid.

I have to tell you, I have never seen Star Trek ever in my life. Yes, quite disappointing. Though, this level did a very good job on looks. I already like the intro, and excuse me for not understanding some stuff. I already am liking your corner editing and color usage. It gives me a "space" type of vibe. So, let's move on with feedback, Kaiju_kid. I hope you like what I have to say to your level.

I like your visuals. I already had a giggle at the dialog. Luckily, you don't need to watch the show to laugh at this level. I like how the area looks like a sci-fi ship, yet a restaurant at the same time. The characters reminded me of Star Trek characters. You don't need to watch the show to know that of coarse. It made me laugh about the restroom being clogged too. LOL. Your sticker work is wonderful, once again. I liked the structure of the entire level. Good Job!!

Your character design is soo good. I like the outline of the "black fiber paper". It gives off the cartoon outline of the character, and it is eye candy infact. I like some of your obstacles. Very simple, yet addictive. I, indeed, laught where I fell in the x-ray, and that guy thought I was dead. So did I there for a second. I also had trouble at the end; though, I manage to beat it sucessfully. I have not encountered any problems, errors, or glitches during my play. I had a smooth, humoress, and enjoyable walkthrough. Other than that, all I can do is give you your ratings.

Length: 5/5 (Length lasted and a fun-ny playthrough)
Material Usage: 5/5 (A lot of sci-fi feeling; yet, I can feel the fast food restuarant kicking in.)
Sticker Work: 5/5 (Your stickers made this level come to life and was very precise.)
Corner Editing: 5/5 (Your characters look very spot on!)
Terrain/Mechanics: 5/5 (Not a lot of platforming, but a heck load of humor.)
Story: 5/5 (Not really a story, but it fits with the level)

Total: 30/30 Perfect Score!!

I like the humor in you, and the theme of this level.
Therefore, I gave you 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. <3

I'll be looking forward to play another level by you.

Until we meet again,
-Spark

Hey Kaiju, amazing level you made there!

I was a bit worried about playing another space themed level, as there's already tons of those around, but this one definitely had a unique feel to it.

The humor was great; I loved the intro and the whole fast food thing, but as for the rest of the level, I felt like I would have enjoyed it a little more if I ever had actually seen Star Trek; I mean, I recognized Spoch and Captain Kirk from my minimal knowledge of the show, but I feel like there were some jokes and stuff that I just didn't get due to not following the show, but that's not your fault at all.

The visuals were quite good through out most of the level, and the characters were what really stood out, especially due to their giant size. There were a few spots in the level where some of the stickers and stuff felt overdone, almost as if there was too much going for me to process. But other than that, they were very good. Taffey's pictures also reminded me about the ship at the end above the scoreboard which I thought was extremely well made.

The game play was pretty simple but got the job done. I had a little trouble getting past the Klingon thing at the end for some reason; it didn't seem that difficult but I just couldn't seem to pull it off, especially the second electric thing. I guess I was just being stupid.

Overall good level, definitely 5 star worthy!
