I've been thinking about changing my name, both here and on the PSN. I have something in mind that would really lend itself to my style of level creation, but I don't know how to go about it, or even if it's possible. And I'd hate to confuse the folks I already get on well with. Is it a good idea? Is it possible?

If you changed your PSN, leave CC a message and he'll change it. He only changes it in cases of PSN change though. Once shop comes back you can buy it, but till then :/ Anyway, it's possible as to if you should do it, I have no opinions.

OK, thanks. I've been auto-signing in to my psn for so long that I don't know my password anymore, and my wife hates the new name, so I may just skip it. Time will tell.

Nope. Not an English teacher. My love of movies, mostly old school, seems to show in my level creation. I want a name that reflects that. When I was a kid, they used to show cheesy movies on tv in a Saturday Afternoon Matinee format. I'd like to pay tribute to early inspiration.

well, I really like the story behind SaturdayMatinee, I think it definitely portrays your style. I'm not sure if its possible to change your psn... the only way i could think to do that would be to get a new account. if you did get a new account, you'd have to run through all the levels again to get textures, stickers and whatnot...

I looked... There's an option for "name" but I couldn't access it because I forgot my password. I think I remembered it later though. I'll be finding out sooner than later if it can be done. Then I'll have to blanket e-mail all my friends and let them know I'm still me....

Actually, you CAN, sort of. Here's how- 1. Turn your LBP profile and any levels you wish to bring onto your new name into backups. 2. Create your new PSN. Use an alternative email if you like. Make sure you remember the password. 3. Go into LBP on your new PSN, and import all the things you backed up earlier, including your profile. There you go- a new account with a new name and all the stuff you had before available. I don't know if it works as such, but it would seem that this is a good way to do it.

Yeah, I was going to come on and say it was a bust. The only name it would let me change was my real one, which I'm actually quite fond of. I may take The Gavfather's advice, (and thanks for that) but it does sound a bit complicated. I may just be stuck with the name(s) I have. :/

Yeah, I'm just not sure I know how to back all that stuff up and then retrieve it from another profile. Of course, it all might be laid out very nicely for me and I simply haven't looked yet. I'm off tomorrow, so I'll look further into it soon. If it seems fairly simple and doable, then I'll do it.

Oh, it's really easy to be honest. All you have to do is go onto your levels, or press start. On the levels it will appear with back up level somewhere. By pressing start, go to- Options? Profile Settings. Back up Profile. And it's full steam ahead from there.
