A level where you start next to a 10 x 10 grid. Sticker it using four colored stickers to build a level to reach the top!
I've been wanting to do this for a very long time. It's a 10 x 10 wooden grid you can sticker with any of four colors to create a level. The point is to make a fun challenge and reach the top right corner. The four blocks you can choose from are:

Brown - Normal solid wooden block.

Green - White box of dissolve with a small black arrow pointing to the left. Grabbing this block will make the arow slowly rotate counterclockwise until it's pointing left. After that it will dissolve.

Black - Solid black, grabbable block.

Red - Fire block.

Features:

Music and lighting choices
Blocks are mergable
Race box (Sticker the checkered box at the spawn and a race start will be in front of the level.)
Grog, the anti-staircase monster will block people who try to cheat for more points. In LBP 2 he will just take your points and let you pass instead.
I have room for a couple secret pattern requests! (For example, placing a 5x6 OU logo in the top left corner will spawn a jetpack.) Comment any request below and I'll make it as long as it's a symbol you can't accidentally place.
Anti-symbol sensors! They're sticker sensors randomly placed to prevent a solid block from summoning secret items.
An "I GIVE UP!" button! Sticker the little colorful boxy symbol next ot the custom level and a circle of gas will surround the checkpoint. After this you can die in any way and you'll respawn at a scoreboard.

I worked on this for a week and only got three plays.

Oh yeah. One more thing. I'm trying to use all the thermo on features so I have absolutley no room for decorating. Please excuse the large amount of boring, plain wood.

A one hour old post gets five replies and a 14 minute old stolen level gets four plays but my two hour old post gets none and my week old level gets three plays?

Lol, don't hate, I have been begging to get my one level reviewed since the start and I I have gotten is those, "this looks cool I will give it a try", and then nothing...but hey at least they are bmping the thread. You also may have an issue witht he title. Yours is v1.2, and there several named "level creator" out there. It was a very and cute game. If you had prizes hidden around to build upto it may be cool, but not sure if changing your level would be a good thing. I was able to make two blocks appear at once, but i was not like it mattered. I did wish you have a button to press to preview the work you were boing, like a speech bubble with a one shot grap switch attached to it, or a sticker that would emit a little guy (set to one max) that would say here is your level thus far...all activated by a sticker too. The music thing seemed a bit of an over kill, not saying good or bad, just saying it was the size of your level, so it took away from the cool level builder just by its size. Other than that I would get that level off the floor and put it on a floor you created out of cardboard or wood to match the level (set it to blank even) and then you would create your own world making it pull you in even more. Just suggestions though. Good work on a cool concept, you could almost create an active puzzle if you combimed the level set up with the level so you used the stickers as you went along and dodged thing, crushed baddies and such.

Great level though.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll make quite a few changes when I get back on! Well about the thing where you make it something which builds up, I was planning on making the level editor a part of a level and the sticker switches could be in prizes hidden throughout the level. Sadly each additional block type adds a fifth to the thermometer so I'll have to limit that. I can have a little poll with ten choices on what the dissolve block can be replaced with when I make a level with it. Also I have seen a few bugs including the fact that fire and grabbable dissolve when merged with a white dissolve and grabbed. I'd fix that a long time ago but I have too much logic attached to the grid sensing when or when to not place grog, when to give secrets, etc. Some day I'll get it done but not today. I will have to think of what blocks to replace with what though. Any ideas?2010-09-07 00:20:00

I am not sure if a new type is good if it hits the thermo that strong. you could limit the sticker uses with a larger background sensor that counted how many times each type was used, and then when the max was hit dissolve the layer that has that type of emits on it, or if they are held in place by poles connected to something other than anit, you could emit a layer to block the upper area and thus the type of block. The problem is it is too large of an idea, and there are so many options for you, I think you should take it slow and make a little level out of it, an inverse dig dug so to speak, and with that type you could have it emit a crush block that just falls down, or like your arrow block one that moves across to save sticker uses...or you could limit each block to certain types and then use the counter sticker to dissolve all those types of blocks the second that sticker has been used the max number of times.2010-09-07 01:39:00

I've decided that this level (it WAS just to test out the idea at first) will stay how it is. Instead, I'm going to start using this idea on more levels like one I'm working on where you can only sticker the black grabbable blocks and you can only place them in certain areas. This way I have a larger area, more variety (I can place actual obstacles!) AND, in my current work-in-progress, several floors. Each one getting longer and harder (stop chuckling.) I was also starting to think about a multiplayer one where one player builds and can fly but has to get the other player across. Sadly this one will have to wait for LBP 2 or else it'll have too many bugs. Well my brother has to get on. Thanks for the feedback!2010-09-08 02:58:00
