King Quest. (3 levels)**SPOTLIGHTED**
Archive: 25 posts
The kingdom is in trouble and is sackboy duty to help the queen. The 1st level is a gardens typical adventure with lots of platforms and also a forest, your adventure will end and continue later in dark. For this level i received mayor help from bonner123 in some platforms. (7-9min.) The 2nd level is in the gardens but now it's nighty and you got to keep on in your quest for getting to the temples and to to the tiger queen.(4-6min.) The 3rd level; you are in the temples and you talked to the queen she says something's wrong in the factory so you got to look there and search for the king. I wan to thank to ladylyn1 for making an amazing boss fight and poms for some of his assistance. (9-13min.) This 3 levels took me a total time of 26 hours and i hope you enjoy them. *Spotlighted* | 2010-09-06 18:13:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
Hey, I found that his mini-series was very enjoyable overall. It felt pretty polished throughout and the gameplay was varied as well. The only complaint I had was the end of the boss fight....it seemed a little anti-climatic..you need to put a big bang or something flashy to happen when he is defeated....as it is now, it just dissolves and the level is over in the next room. | 2010-09-06 19:14:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |
awesome! this looks epic ill give it a go soon! | 2010-09-06 19:16:00 Author: gareth Posts: 81 |
The levels were great. Visuals are cool and original, the game play is awesome, it's a nice platformer. My only complaint is that the 2nd level is too short but overall i rated 5* and heart all of them. | 2010-09-06 19:17:00 Author: jose-ic Posts: 9 |

Ok, thanks i hope you dont have the key glitch. I just played the first level and it was really fun. Ill give an overall comment when I have done all three tomorrow | 2010-09-06 23:55:00 Author: ferrrch Posts: 429 |
This was a lot of fun, each of the three levels had fun, fluent gameplay that kept me happy from the begining to end.The story and visuals were simple, but at the same time they were fantastic. Another thing that I really liked was how you put the LBPC logo in the scoreboard at the end of each level. Overall, great work, I gave all of the levels :star::star::star::star::star:. | 2010-09-07 00:16:00 Author: X-FROGBOY-X Posts: 1800 |
Hey i've noticed that you always put the rating but you never say if you heart it y? LOL, and the scoreboard is a nice thing and maybe i'll put it as a price. Just finished playing this trilogy now Very cool indeed. I can't remember the last time I died so many times on a level though haha Came very close to having to start again more times than I care to admit Overall, this is a great set of levels. Gameplay was enjoyable and challenging, visuals where pretty top notch too and the characters where fun ( I especially liked the bad guy ). I liked the second level the best as I found this to be the most rounded of the three levels. I liked how it utilized the same scenary more than once to move from one side to another and back again. The only real downside for me was the fact you could see all the motor bolts, switches and pistons.. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of the levels look and feel.. but thats a personal thing I suppose I rated it 4 stars for the first, and 5 stars for the last two. Overall, excellent job! Well done. | 2010-09-07 22:11:00 Author: Malhat06 Posts: 107 |
Ferrch, you're just squeezing for a bit too much info at times. Maybe he didn't heart it? And ratings aren't the important thing. It's the general feedback. I'm really looking forward to playing this soon! | 2010-09-07 22:37:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |

Hey ferrrch, thanks for trying out Archaic Ascension, I finally tried out your levels lol. Quite the series! I really enjoyed them, they had some great platforming, a very well made and professional 'gardens theme' look and feel, and were fun and entertaining throughout. The 3 level series makes for a nice long experience and they seemed very well thought out and organized. I do agree with lockstitch, a more dynamic ending would do the series a lot more justice. But besides that, the look and game play was very tight, It's hard to think of anything that was out of place. Great job! Cant wait to see what you come up with next. | 2010-09-08 06:43:00 Author: Duffluc Posts: 402 |
I only played the first so far as the keys didnt unlock. The visuals were nice and clean throughout with really fun and varied gameplay. Making 3 levels in 26 hours is really fast. Ill spend 5 hours just recreating a small section until Im happy with it lol. If you unlock the last 2 levels ill be sure to try them. | 2010-09-08 06:45:00 Author: SteveBigGuns Posts: 423 |
Hi ferrrch - I played all of your levels and here is my feedback. First: I read in Steve's post that you build these 3 levels in 26 hours?? Really?? Can't believe it - LOL... you deserve a crown for that. Like Steve said: same here: I build much longer for just 25% of a level - I think in my new level, it took me at least 5 hours for the tesplaying (in total) lol.... Well, the levels, where should I start. These are really 3 solid and good levels. The first one has a nice starting section and a nice structure. I loved the jetpack-room where you can lift up the jetpack-emitters to jump up to the next jetpack - great stuff. At the end, the look of the level was quite different to the start- and middle-section of it - I think it didn't fit very well to the rest of it. The second level was also fun to play, nice elements and nice structure as well. The level that impressed me the most is level #3: the materials that you used here are cool and there are some cool elements too. But, there have been some issues in this level that made me think that you could have done much better. I think to remember that in the level-description you mentioned, that the queen would lead the way (I maybe wrong on that one...) and I missed the queen for a long time in that level - so felt a bit alone :-) I would suggest to add some impressive sounds when you pull a lever - there are some lever where I pulled them and I thougt "huh? and now? what happend, couldnt see any difference" ... maybe you can add a camera-angle that switches to the stuff that happens when you pull a lever. I was a bit dissapointed by your bossfight - I don't think that you wanted these big stone-blocks from above to behave as if they are, well "stoned" lol - when they go down, there are some forward-backward wiggles and it look like they judder up and down. And if the player moves into this checkpoint-box: you can't die, so it's not a thread in there, just waiting for the time when the paintinators pop-up and then move on.... I have different feelings about these 3 levels - on the one hand, I think that they are really good work with some really nice plattforming elements and visuals, and on the other side I think that there are some issues that need to be solved. All in all, I gave 4stars for each. Well, you asked me to rate them 5* (which allways concerns me a bit), but I hope you appreciate an honest feedback. Quick lil' review. 1st level: Awesome, but plagourised quite a bit from bonner123's garden level(both the graphical style and the gameplay). 4 stars and heart 2nd level: This was ALOT better, mainly because it was in your own style(awesome corner editing!) Loved it, 5 stars and heart 3rd level: THANKYOU. I always hated the story mode level Elephant Temples graphical style(uggggh). This was like it's funner and better looking cousin Awesomeness, 5 stars and heart | 2010-09-08 17:24:00 Author: Unknown User |
Great level series. The gameplay is a top notch experience and the visuals are outstanding thanks to corner editing and choices of materials. The third level is the best one thanks to temple themed gameplay and an amazing boss battle. Great job. 5 stars to all 3 levels. | 2010-09-08 21:19:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Thanks a lot for the feedback and for the hearts =p, the 1st level was initially a level that was going to be co-created by bonner and i, but he was so bussy with his own projects that i finished it by my self. Ha! Awesome! Cant wait to play these! I lobve story levels! Ill give some feedback on em' when i get the time! EDIT: Played all three! Heres what I thought of them: Level 1: -Great visuals! Awesome use of the gardens materials! -Loved the character design and the MUDKIPZ! (I do liek them) -Overall great gameplay, unfortunately the rotating platforms around the MUDKIPZ were a little bit hard for multiple players, that or maybe I just stink at platforming really badly! 4:star:'s and a <3 for Level 1! Level 2: -Great atmosphere! Loved the outside parts! -Yet again, great character design! Loved that ghost person! -I couldnt find another MUDKIPZ in this level! WHARE R DEM? :tophat: To look into fixing: -Needz moar Mudkipz. Overall rating: 5:star:'s and another <3! Level 3: -Didnt like how you could see the level background wall without any wall infront of it. It took away from the level -I did like the switch puzzles, very entertaining! -The cat-tophat thingy scared me a little. I would have perferred teh Mudkipz. -Ending boss fight was kind of lackluster. The hand things that tried to crush you didnt look like hands (if they were supposed to) and the collector as the main enemy again has been done so much before that its repetitive even seeing his cape-shaped body! (Dont you think weve foiled the poor fella enough already? ) Overall rating: 4:star:'s and a <3 from me! Very nice level series! Loved it! If you have the time, could you check out my level? I enjoyed playing the first level. The second level showed up for me so I guess I didn't fall victim to the key glitch. I thought this was very creative and a wonderful variation on the gardens' theme. Excellent use of materials and the three planes. I started playing the second level but got frustrated with the platforming. I could see how to do things, but it was more difficult than fun for me. I was pretty tired when I started playing, so maybe next time I tackle it, I won't get so frustrated. I'll let you know. | 2010-09-11 23:21:00 Author: Unknown User |

Hey! Ive finally played the whole series as you have unlocked them now. The first level was cool. It really felt like a gardens type theme. I did find some problems with the level. Theres an area where there are 3 rollers going horizontal and a switch on the left. Theres also 2 spike traps down in the pit. There no camera angle initially showing the spikes or the switch and if you fall safely theres no way to grab the rollers so your stuck. Maybe add a log like jump pad there. Also near the end you should put a warning on the teleporter switch as I thought it was a part of the gameplay. I didnt want to skip the next section but it did. 4 stars I like the castle them in part 2. The platforms in the beginning should be spaced a little more as you can skip over some of the platforms. I loved the character design in your level. It MM like. I dont think the port hole decoration fits the level as its more associated with water/ ship levels. This level also had some tricky platforming too which I like. 4 stars | 2010-10-02 03:02:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
continued... The Temple/Factory level was a blast to play. I loved this level. The puzzles and platforming was all perfect. You really save the best for last. I liked the materials you used as they are not used often and they go together well. Makes me want to experiment. . The boss fight was lackluster. It couldve used more detail and difficulty. It still didnt stop me from rating it 5 stars though. I hearted the series as its pretty cool to bring friends to and play it. Overall as a series I would give it 4 stars as i know you could make them better with your talent. Also is the queen cheating on the MM king? I was expecting the MM king but found your wonderfully made king XD. Thank for having me play your levels as they were a blast. | 2010-10-02 03:12:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked better the 3rd level and i actually did everything on 26 hours because i was about to get on school so i had to made them fast, if i would've been able to make them better i would surely do, thanks again. continued...
