can people can do this ? there are SO many famous people adimiting they sold there soul for fame, A few examples:

Eminem - My Darlin
he is doing a song with the devil and the devil is saying 'your times up , your souls mine , im tacking it back'' the hole song is about him selling his soul to the devil to get a record deal with Dr.Dre and, he did (ill put a link to the song at the bottom)

Eminem - Say Good Bye to HolloyWood
there is a line about half way he says 'i sold my soul to the devil and i can never get it back'

Eminem - Rain Man
My name was not to become what I became with this level of fame

I think they actually mean "I sold out for fame", but it sounds cooler to say "I sold my soul for fame". See, when you sell out you're expected to say what sounds cool instead of what you really believe. That's what selling out is all about after all.2010-09-05 13:46:00

The thing is, selling your soul is a purely literary device that probably originated with the story of Faust, which also gave birth to the term "Faustian deal." But given the significance of the story it became so ingrained into social consciousness that making those sorts of deals with demonic entities became immensely popular in artistic works even though there is very little in religious texts of all sorts to support it (though in them your soul could go through any number of ordeals).

But that's not to say metaphorically selling your soul makes you a very respectable person (just ask over 50% of politicians)		2010-09-05 17:15:00

It means they sold out to get famous.
Doing what they're told by the industry instead of what they want.
They stick lines like that in because they think its 'cool' and that people will feel some sort of connection to it.

Not really, I just think that the world would be a far better place if everybody focused on what's actually happening. It's not that I really care about what other people believe, I'm merely stating that I think the whole incorporeal soul thing essentially creates far more problems in the world than it solves. It's not that I actually have a problem with people believing in it (and I know this seems a tad contradictory), I have a problem with it interfering with real life and human progression (a term that I'm beginning to consider an oxymoron more and more every day). So, you might think it insensitive of me... But, I would sell my soul to make the world a better (and I do realize that the term "better" is entirely based around opinion, but it's my soul, suck it up) place. Shame on me.		2010-09-06 09:45:00
