Deep colors on level patch
Archive: 5 posts
Hello all, Ok - so, I'm hoping to post my new level in the next week - but, when it comes to setting an icon on the level patch, it is always so difficult. Mainly, everytime I post one - the colors get all washed out. It seems to be hit or miss to whether or not they turn out with deep colors. I'll have nice dark picture with deep reds and blacks - and when I set it as an icon, it comes out all washed out looking. Anyone know the trick here? Thanks in advance!!! | 2010-09-04 00:35:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
I know this probably goes without saying, but you could always lighten up the colors before you take the picture. Same issues come up when making custom colored stickers for costumes or set pieces because a picture is always darker than the original. | 2010-09-04 03:31:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |

Thanks for the reply - but I don't think that will solve the issue. The picture I'm taking is of a creature peering out of the darkness - so, lightening it up will take away the effect of the picture. There are some pictures I take that have deep colors that are taken in dark settings - then others, get all washed out when being put as a level patch. Just not sure what the key differences are here. | 2010-09-04 17:33:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
This (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33687-a-modification-of-Aya042-s-quot-How-To-Avoid-Distorted-Avatars-quot-with-mirror-glitch) might help. By messing with led brightness and level lighting, you can get more vibrant results and it lets you fix the aspect ratio at the same time. | 2010-09-04 19:09:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Thanks, You'd think LBP would have fixed this issue by now instead of people having to find workarounds. Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through (think I got rid of my mirrored material the other day - I figured I never used it for anything - of course, now I'd have to go find that again. Bah! Haha. | 2010-09-04 21:50:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
