The Town Road was created by me over two weeks September last year and renovated over the course of the year.

The level itself is a colonial town, I've put many hidden areas into the level and there is a hidden race. There is some 3D areas, but I've tried my best to blend them with regular areas. It is compatable with any number of players.

So tell me what you think. Any improvements?

Nice use of the 3D. It did seem to flow well with the non-3D. Like the city design, it had a nice fantasy feel to it. The little glade at the end looked nice too. The level didn't have any real challanges to it, but easy is not bad. I thought your stairs were way to small for nice sack boy walking. At about the mid to later point I saw one bit of blue wood that tooked out of place. The Window sticker was ok, but maybe something a bit more creative at that point...wasn't bad, just seemed a bit too simple. But all in all the city had a nice feel to it and I enjoyed the design of it. Could you add more to it? You seem to have a good score and heats, so maybe you have it just right.2010-09-04 00:08:00

Hey Regan Spor, I played through this one tonight. I thought it was really charming! I think what you are going for is a nice looking stroll through a small town, with some well hidden Easter eggs. I think I found all the areas, but I'm not sure?? I had fun nonetheless! There is a couple of things though. I noticed you split the sidewalk up into 3 separate layers. IMHO it would look better as a triple thick layer. Also, I think your camera could be tweaked a tad better in a couple of spots. The spot where you jump up on the timbers sticking out from the wall. The camera was too far right, making it hard to jump from timber to timber so I could get on the roof. The other spot is when you push the wheel barrow. I thought the camera could have been a tad higher. My complaints are just subjective, and don't really detract from the level.

On a side note, and sorry for getting off subject, but you left a comment on my level. It said to look up monster pinball and check it out. I think I've played that once or twice. Oh, yeah, that's one of my levels too.

@celsus , Thank you, I'm sort of trying for the simplistic style, If you were walking through a real town and all of a sudden you had to jump and swing over fire pits wouldn't really be a town. Well the blue wood.... hmmm, I think I know the one your talking about, I was really just trying to add variation to the level, make it nice to look at. I thought the window sticker was pretty good, what would you recommend that would be more creative?

@smasher , Yeah I know the camera angles your talking about, the wheel barrow and the timbers were added after I had set the camera angles, I felt that players stormed through that open space too quickly, so I gave them something to do. I'll go back and see if I can tweak the angles to take into account the new addition. About the "sidewalk"/ footpath, It would be nice to make it a solid block, but I was determined when I started the level to utilise all three layers. The opening really is just the concept and then I just ran with it, no real planing, just ideas of what I wanted to see next. Thank you for your comments, I'll see what I can do.

Those are two of the hidden areas, the first is easy to find, and just beneath it is the hidden race activate by a sticker. The second image I did because I felt like it, my aim in that one was to show you what you were walking through from straight on rather than from the side.

On your side note: Oh that would make sense, spent hours playing that one too, Well in that case you must be the king of pinball, love your levels!

Yeah I did find both of those. The one where I got my picture taken, I kind of fell in there by accident though. Also, I forgot to mention that I liked the use of the layer glitch. You worked it in there nicely.2010-09-12 03:00:00

Weird my reply to this vanished, oh well, here is the basic version, try a window frame on crane like thing where the player puts something in place, it would mesh better with your deign, creating your own sticker is always cool, but som many turn off community options that the stickers don't work for some. Oh and the blue peice was towards then end I thing, and it was just that it was a cube that did not seem to have a point.2010-09-12 03:45:00
