Greatings....

In the past i have done reviews for LBPG, allthough that took an all to abrupt end as the corrupted mod there deleted my review thread =(.

But that was awfully long ago, almost 2 years i think. It is time to forsake the past and embrace the future, i have been thinking about a way to make myself more well known among the more serious creators in lbp ( Otherwise i would have copied any random shark survival and republished it ).

I also want to see if i can possible become inspired somehow, and use the dark secrets of pros levels to enchant my own level i am working on right now ! That's why i want to review levels. And unlike last time i tried, this time i have a lot of free time ( To much time to spare need a hobby) and can play Lbp almost every day !

Anyhow, this is how the reviews are going to work. Unlike other reviewers my goal is to find the truth and expose it to the public, if i feel that the level is too hard to be enjoyable i am not going to be " I like levels that are challenging but newbs should stay out " instead i will be more like " Any noob can make a hard level, you should really fix this to make the level feel less frustrating since i lost my patience as i tried to go trough this part ",



If you don't want me to riddiculate you and your'e level then don't post in this topic.

If a level is to frustrating or unclear on how you are to advance from point A and B for me, then how is an average Lbp player suppost to cope with it ? I am not going to finish a level if it is to frustrating or to ugly, just as a random Lbp player wouldn't !

Here is how the scoring system will work, I will give the level 1-10 point in gameplay/visualsNsound/Misc and sum up my final verdict in a 1-10 scale ( Wich is not 100 percent mathematic, the overall scale is not an average of the other 3 scores but merely an overall idea of how good the level is)

Gameplay= How fun a level is, what kind of feeling my gut gives me as I finish it. This is something instinctive and sometimes you can get a really bad feelign about a levels gameplay without being able to describe why it is so. The gameplay score is influenced by music/sound effects/Visuals/difficulty and how much the level sucks me in into its fictional world ! But the score is allmost 100 percent gut feeling and I will not increase the score just because other people like the levels gameplay ( I am seeking to expose the truth not fit into some big pattern).

Visuals/sound= How pleasing is it to look into the level ? Does the material blend in appropriatly ? How is the lightning for the level ? What kind of sound effects will I hear when I kill the last boss or step on a button ? Am I hearing happy music while confronting an evil dragon ( Big anti climax just check Dragon slayer part 4 as to how this misstake may effect levels)?

Misc= This is were the other stuff is put in, such as originallity ( I will deduct spiritual points if you copied most of the ideas from another creator)/Objects ( If this is a showcase level for some object or costume, Then how cool slash usefull is it ? ) Resemblance ( If you are trying to make a level of a movie or another game I will try to get an idea s to how the essence from the game is compared to the essence in you're level !)

Here is what the diffrent ranks means,

10/10 = Divine, such a level has completely mastered the all too fine balance between making a level wonderfully brilliant and accessible so that casual noobs and hardcore gadders may reach the fullest form on joy as they play trough this level, such a level has the same kind of quality as you would expect from a story level and in addition offers something that has never been seen before ! The extent of this levels achievements is impossible to put into mere words <3.

9/10= Stunning ! Not often will you find this kind of quality on the wicked cool levels system, Whatever problems may exist is overshadowed by the levels pure brilliance ! Most creators would be jealous if they were to play this masterpiece and would throw their remote into the wall as they are trying to figure out how the level was made. In addition any level that scores at least 9/10 will be hearted , if a creator can get at least 2 levels to get a score higher then 9/10 they will be hearted as well.

8/10 = Fantastic. This level offers some cleaver innovations and ingenious concepts all though it lacks the extra little something to truly become legendary. The problems in this level is noticable but should not distract the player all too terribly much.


7/10 = Good. Not bad, although a lot of problems in this level could have obviously been fixed if a more skilled creator took a look at it. Just a somewhat fun enjoyable level that you play and enjoy, but nothing special or remarkable.

6/10= Ok. This kind of level is what an average creator would be able to do if they tried their very best witch is somewhat sad. As such a level could generally gotten an extra 2 points just by spending an additional 15 minutes placing stickers and correcting small problems.

5/10= Mediocre. There is some light in this level but not nearly enough to make it good, there are a lot of problems here that indicates that the creator is either inexperienced or devoted. If you want to succeed in Lbpc and my reviews you need to channel you're passion into you're level !

4/10= Bad. This is were the average bomb survival goes without any further adoe. Boring, bland, not nearly enough effort. These levels are not worth playing and are very insignificant as they are not horrible enough to be riddiculated. Reviewing these kind of levels gives a bitter somewhat unsatisfying after taste as you won't get to praise the level, neither will you get to riddiculate the level in an evil sadistic fashion, uninspired and irrelevant !

3/10= Very bad. This is what you would except from a noob that just started making levels and only wanted to test it, the creator simply lacked the knowledge to correct either one of the many details or problems that could be found. As cruel as it sounds a level that gets this kind of score will often be riddiculated in my review as it is better to simply scrap these levels and make a new one and start fresh over again.

2/10 =horrible. The visuals are so bad that my eyes will be in pain simply by gazing at the visible dark matter, horribly bad chosen unstickerd materials. Enemies either being electrecutic dissolve with a creature brain and 2 creature legs or something from story mode. As horrible as it is to play trough it i at least get to laugh a lot when i review it !

1/10 =Abysmal. Any kind of level that can make you wanna die, that can turn ur eyes into blood fountains, that can make you hammer the ps3 into tiny little bits ! Well here is the score for you. Obviously anybody making such a bad level at least must have tried their best to make it bad i suppose.

FAQ1=How come story isn't even mentioned ?
AFFAQ1= Because story is not important for most levels and will often drag the score down as creators foolishly think that it is a good idea to add an elaborate story to their level, this is however not a good idea unless you are making lets say a level or a level series that is all to heavily dependent on story.

The best games ever made such as little big planet and super marios story is very uncomplicated and doesn't make sence, why would a green ginger dragon wanna kidnap a princess without even using here as an argument demanding power for the princess to return alive ? And the story for Lbp makes no sense at all yet still these games are among the best ones ever made..

* (If the level lacks story despite clearly needing one i will point this out but will only have a very small point penalty at worst. So focus more on game-play and on making the level enjoyable for Lbpc players and casual noobs alike then any story. Those who really like a story will be reading books not playing Little big planet =).

FAQ2= What if my levels is a series consisting of several levels ?
AFFAQ2 =Then it will be treated as 1 level in my review and i will review the series as opposed to the individuals levels ( Caution ! I have higher expectations as far as story goes on level series! )

FAQ3 = But you can't make fun of other peoples on this forum you need to be a nice guy man !
AFFAQ3 = If you are not willing to be the subject of mockery in my thread then do not post ur levels here ! My reviews are mostly to help the creator improve their level and to give the readers a lot of laughs, giving good levels plays is mostly secondary .

I will be having a lot of times to review levels during the weekends =O. And every review will be fun to read and informative as to how the level could benefit ! Do not be shy i am ready to take on you're levels. Make sure that you post the levels name and you're own PSN in this thread. Also only 1 submission at any time! !!!!!!! The onions here is no final verdict nor is it what the community as a whole thinks of you're levels, the opinions expressed are merely a personal opinion and have possibly been slightly exaggerated in order to provide some quality reading !!!!!

Here we go...

When i first saw that i was predestined to review this level my initial thought was " oh no not another lame jumping challenge " and my instinct told me to avoid playing it, but i didn't listnen. I enterd this level with the mistaken idea that it would be mediocre, i was wrong.....

Do you see that. This is how the level looks like. Completely and utterly bland, you know when you order food at a thai restaurant and the taste is so weak that you don't even need milk to soften the supposedly spicy taste ? Well this is like ordering Thai food that tastes like wallpaper. No detail in this picture other then the ! decoration i added.
The level itself is also crafted without any love or tenderness, Rarely will you see stickers on any part of the level except for the NPCs, the NPC characters are actually the best part of the level, even though they didn't really make much sense ( why have a minotaur on the electric plane for example ?). It felt like you rushed this level over and over again trying to make it just good enough to satisfy the casual noobs of LBP which is something that you notice as there are infinite checkpoints despite supposedly being some kind of challenge level ( Each part gets harder and harder), even though this shows that you are more interesting in getting plays then making a good level i am actually thankfull for this as the level is so dastardly frustrating that i nearly broke my hand controller in pure aggravation !

So lets without any further adoe go to the scoring part !

Gameplay3/10

The gameplay of this level is boring uninspiring and utterly frustrating, if anyone else here was to play it they would quickly discover that trying to endure all the 8 parts is remnant to the prolonged agony you feel when trying to study Greek without an iPod or a dictionary. If anybody has the mental strength to complete this level without cheating with the levels teleport system ( collect the sticker at each part and you will be able to warp there next time you start the level.), i would heart this player and admire him for his extreme willpower ! I however did not posses the patience nor the raw mind-power to finish this level and gave up afer struggling with part 3 for what was a few minutes but felt like several hours. (part 1 below )

The most frustrating part of the level is the 3rd part that even managed to get me give up and retreat to show some mercy to my self =/. The first part is very annoying of part 3 were you have to jump over a seemingly endless electric obstacles !

After finally making it trough and praising god for the fact that my ps3 controller remains intact. I do my best to prepare myself for the horrors that is to come. But nothing would have possible been able to prepare me for this.

This cart is the most frustrating thing i have ever witnessed in little big planets universe, you are to controll the cart with the remote and manuever it to the right side so you can open (Dissolve) a big green door. This part is going to give me nightmares for several decades to come. Sure might seem like a decent idea yeah controll a cart past dangerous obstacles that will destroy it if you are not carefull. But the cart is far to slow. It is going to take minutes if not hours to get it trough the 2 parts ( I quitted at the second part, imagine if there is a 3rd part ? Brrrr) and at the end if ur cart is squised just by 1 moment of lacking awareness, you gotta restart it and you will never get all the wasted time back =(.

The general plattforming in the 2 first part is unimaginable and boring. Plattforms that spin plattforms that materialze to dissapear and hardly visible gas that flies between the platttforms as an illusive hazzard ? Nah i don't think i ever saw something like that before.. Or so i hope...

This levels gameplay isn't abbysmal (Other then part 3 and maybe 4-8) but it is bland and boring. Somehow i don't feel very emerged into the world that you were trying to create.
Maybe the 5 parts i missed because i got frustrated and left as i said i would in my first post. Were excellent and powerful enough to somehow redeem this levels other abundant faults ? No i do not think so. And even if they were good they still wouldn't be worth the prolonged agony part 3 was ! They are probably even worse then part 3 since the level would get harder for every part.
The game play is unoriginal at best and overbearingly frustrating at worst !

Visuals/sound4/10

There are no sound effects in this level ( Or atleast not in the first 3 part.) All you hear is some annoying unfitting music from the story mode. Allthough you wanted to create something uncomplicated just a few sound effects could have spiced the level up considerably. As the sound effects enables the player to enter the world you are trying to emulate.
The visuals on this level is simply put bland, the only thing being decent in this level is actually the NPCs that introduces you to the diffrent part ( Allthough i can't see what a greek minotaur is doing in a electric world tbh). But the ogre is kinda cool

The different parts of the levels simply need more <3. You know that you could easily add a few leave decorations to the first part for example. That would boost the value of the visuals into new heights ! It would have been easily to with almost no additional thermo space make the level much more attractive.

You need to start experimenting with stickers and decorations more my friend.This might impress the noobs that stalk the cool pages but i find it bad and the fact that you didn't devote more time for the first impression when you spawn into the level does not boad well for the rest of it etheir !

Misc3/10

An overly frustratingly level were you are to prove that you are not a noob by jumping over poorly designed objects ? No i don't think i ever saw something like that before have you ? So original wow.....
You only had a few ideas and they were almost without exception very bad. Like the horror cart for example. One thing that might be better is the warp system you added. If i ever have to go back because you are not pleased with seeing me squirm merely after 3 parts at least i got the sticker to warp there.

The details of this level were poorly thought of. And one of the many things that indicates this is the hilarious visible magical mouths ! It might seem as a minor thing, it is not. Those small little details acts as an indicator of what is to come. And how much effort you devoted into the other parts of you're level, I did the same mistake by having some visible switches in my level and it tore the levels quality down significantly imho =(.

The parts are also far to long in my honest opinion ( Maybe because i wished it would be over after the first part ?) make the parts shorter but add more quality instead. Whats the point of an 80 min level if i don't feel compelled to complete it ?

There is no real reason as to why you should play this level. Maybe if you made it even worse so that i could laugh at it ? At least this level does however have some more effort then some of the other levels that are currently in the cool pages.

Verdict3,5/10


This level is insignificant and very poorly crafted. The lack of small details and attention for detail is really driving me bananas in this level ( My eyes would have popped if it weren't for the NPC). Allthough some players might think that i am exaggerating when reviewing this level, i am merely showing him the truth. How could such a level ever become something when there is no detail to attention, planning or love ?

This level leaves an uncanningly bitter after taste in you're mouth and in you're heart. I need to become better at heading my own instincts that told me to skip the lvl but i didn't and that at least a good 45 minutes of my life that i will never have back. Can you imagine what i could have done with 45 minutes ? Working on my current project for example ?
I would not recommend this excursion to anybody, unless you want to test you're willpower and determination !

Suggestions:

* hide the magic mouths.

* Make the level more exciting by adding sound effects and stickers. Just spamming the leaf sticker over the first part would for example do alot.Delete the third part.

* Have more innovative plattforming, or aleast something that feels more innovative. There are thousands of jump challenges so why would i play this one ?
* Why do you have infinite checkpoints ? Etheir make it more adventure or delete the checkpoints so that the it becomes more of a challenge.
I am hoping that you will learn something of this review so that the next review may be more ? pleasant ? for you to read.

The first blood hatch been shredded and the first crappy level has been debunked as well as breaking the heart of one creator. Writing this review was very satisfactory as it felt like i got some kind of retribution for the ? prolonged agony ? i had to go trough as i played it. Lets hope that my next level is better....

A first person shooter in little big planet ? Surely this must be a joke, can such a thing even be done in little big planet when you can't even move materials into deeper layers ?

The answer is evidently yes, it can be done. And i believe this level has done it nearly flawlessly. This level gives you an unique one of a kind experience ( If you haven't played his previus fps levels) that no other creator has been able to supply, even though you can evidently see in other levels that tries to emulate a game, a movie, something from real life like shopping. That it isn't this other game or it isn't reallity because of small seemingly innevitible details that ruins the illsuion that the crafter attempted to replicate.

This however is something else....Something more !!! You don't see your'e sackboy all you see is hands holding a gun ( sackboy hands, but looks more like DLC to insert random shooter) You manuever the surroundings with the left joystick and shoot the enemy scum with the R1 button.

As lame as a fps to little big planet at first glance may seem, i must say that the true extent of this levels awesomeness is devilishly hard if not even impossible to express in a mere review. This is something extra that i surely haven't seen before. And i can not help but wonder whatever black forbidden magics and techniques was used when he crafted this stunning masterpiece,

I can not express the gratitude i have for this deity letting me gaze upon he's creations, but he is very kind and will surprisingly share his work with anyone who is interested in getting this privilege, and it would indeed be foolish to reject such an invite


Is there anything in this level that will keep the score from getting 10/10 ?

Gameplay:9/10


As unique, fun and satisfying as playing this level is, there is still one fault that will keep this level from perfection. The fact that there is only 1 enemy unit, the fact that this at some times felt almost more like a prototype then a level. This is only a minor thing that drowns away when in comparison to the other parts of the level but i have to over exaggerate the bad things so that you will make the next one even better my friend =)

I really like how you take damage after being infront of the enemies for to long. Allthough i never died because the enemies bullets are to weak. Maybe you should make the enemies gunfire more powerful ?


There is something in this level that stimulates the violent nature within peaceful humans, the game play isn't varied but it doesn't need to be in a level that's only a few minutes. I also must say that i like the fact that the player is placed direct into action and doesn't have to watch a long and boring story sequence, i don't care about the fact as to why i am attacking them and vice versa. All i need to know is that theese scums are attacking me and i need to put em down. Well done !

Visuals/Sound effects8/10

The problems here are more major, as stunning as the visuals might seem with the 3d effect and all, i do think you should have been a bit more vigilant on the small visibly dissolve parts, maybe a sticker or 2 could have fixed that ? The level looks very nice but i would have liked maybe some more details on the rocks and terrain.

The ligthning effects are good though. But maybe even more OMPH to further cultivate the players in future lbp shooter ( i saw you had several)

Not much to be said about the visuals otherwise though, like the beautiful girl at school with a bearded mole on her chin <3

As far as the sound effect goes, i think it is slightly unsatisfactory. I would like a deeper sound for the gun you are holding, and the effect that you get when you kill the enemy is very, i mean just a little ? Erk ? isn't good enough for me. I want something more like ? Pomp AHHHerckled AwwwCoug?, i take it given the attention to detail in the other parts of the level that you simply don't realize how such an effect is done ? If you want to i am more then happy to show you what i mean =).

Maybe more dramatic music would be good? ( Not the battle on the ice)

Misc10/10

I have never ever witnessed this kind of genius in lbp ever before, i think i would be able to replicate it though if i didn't suck at 3d layer glitch but this kind off quality is way beyond even the best bomb survival ever made and is very refreshing after all the rubbish that orbits little big planet. The originality and small details such as the fact that i got spared from a boring introduction/story and simply put straight into action, the epic look of the gun you are wielding, how you take damage when you are in front of the enemies, this must have been a nightmare as far as logic is concerned. But i am happy that you sacrificed several weeks of you're time to give me a few minutes of joy and fun =)

I am assigning 10 points in misc because this level does an amazing job in offering me something cool I have never ever seen before.

Verdict:9/10

It is hard to express my true gratitude in mere simple words, but head this advice reader ! Stop wasting you're time reading what this nonsense and go play the level, it is a remarkable experience and i wish this was the average level on the cool pages =O.

That's 9 points, that's enough for me to give you're level a heart. If you submit another level that can get at least 9/10 i will <3you as a creator.
Suggestions

* More sound effects N sticker the dissolve
No further suggestions, and now I would like to see a level were you have to blast angry nazis =))) thanks a lot for this one, it cleanses my mouth from the bitter after taste I got from the previous level <3

Wow, you're a fast writer.

Anyway, I knew you wouldn't like my level, ha ha. But it is always good to see different perspectives on what you make, so I thank you for your review.

Also, by the way: I wasn't trying to create any world in my level. I mean, the first stage isn't a cave, but an abstract space. The stages are simply marked by a different colour. I wanted to keep the visuals to the minimum to stress the gameplay elements. This is not a level to "immerse yourself into," but a level to test your skills.

Thanks for the review! I liked the review quality and I'll be notifying you when my next level is made for reviewing (if you don't mined).
I liked how you pointed out my flaws, very helpful. Even though I know them all. But I won't allow the visible dissolve material happen again and I'll push sound to be better next time but finding the right sounds are hard, so the record feature in LBP2 will be helpful.

I originally had enemies bullets more powerfully but people were complaining. So I boasted the health by 2 times. I didn't think of different enemies types, but some stay in the ground and pop up. Those enemies have leaves on their heads.

Yes, I was going to do a boring introduction originally but decided not too, they're just not fun to make in LBP2 (though In LBP2 future levels with introductions or cut scenes will have the ability to skip them but I advise not too, because they will be epic.)

Ladilynn i said 1 level per time, unless they are connect ( Like the dragon slayer or dinosour island series ) but the cirque level failed to load for me so i decided to play Fire Starter... I will get the review up later ( I still need some more pics for it).

I will be sure to get the other reviews up today as well.... Btw Rauland.. I recomend combining Cannon fire/Deep tubeythonk/deep bassguittar/Light explosiion effect as far as sound effects for the gun and changing the global lightning to become white as well as the emitter/light effect you used. That would be alot deeper =)

And figuer, if you don't want to spend time on enchanting the level with decorations and stickers you can expect a low score in my review as well.. The absent background you were using were distracting me because it didn't feel natural...

Note: This level is just a prelude to the series and was mainly a focus on visuals and explaining an intro of what TheRougeAssassin and I hope will become a major working series. It was just a teaser of what we are capable of and not of how much we wanted to test the audience of LBP. The level may seem easy but please keep in mind that it's meant as an introduction into a new world full of wonders and the unknown (as cliche as it sounds lol). I have played all the levels except for TheCloudywolf, i have taken all the screenshots i need for all the elvel and have them on my usb.. And even writing some of the reviews but the pc got turned out and i didn't remember to save my reviews >< Hillarius... But re writing them propably won't take long time.

I will have some pretty " extreme " opinions on some of the levels that i am reviewing. So make sure that all the creators make sure to be ready to get a really bad review allthough not everyone will.. Cause some of my opinions is going against previus reviews opinions.. In lbpg when i did my honest reviews that went against waht other reviews thought there was a lot of flaming going on against me.. And you all agreed on allowing me critsize ur levels as much as i wish.....Well... It will be very interesting to see the repsondses to my reviews =P

First things first, i can't possibly have the same default costume while reviewing a level like this, i need something more ?. fitting....

Now when this matter has been attended too i shall review this level. In this bright varied level you assume the role as a contestant for a gameshow year 2030 named FIRE-STARTER. Your'e goal is to get a time that is swift enough to earn you the fastest time in the world ( the faster you are the better rank you will earn, from noob to FIRE STARTER)

The levels visuals is bright and upplifting, And the marvel material in this level was cunningly used to give the level a distinct look. Allthough there are certain aspects of the visuals that could have been sligthly better. Wich I shall explain later in my review.

Allthough this level appears to be crafted in a spirit i favour wich is ? Nobody could care less about the story so lets focus on making the level approachable and entertaining ?, it looks as if you decided to add a cut schene later to review the more ? elegant and tradition bound ? reviewers who are defend to the truth =)Givven that this level has 40 000 plays i would say that you have succeeded in this task ( Making a level that can please both the casual noobs as well as the more demaning true players is not an easy task). There is an optional short story in this level that the player may ignore, or embrace. However impressing me trough the story alone is not that simple, I am mostly impressed by the fact that it is optional and consider this a ? cleaver descission ?..

Ussually i would ignore the story and go directly for the race, but i felt that my purposes compelled me to review the cutscene you used for story telling as well. Since you use magic mouths it is impossible for me to take a screenshot but i can confirm that the music you choosed ( Mgs pack) combined with good city stickers ( Marvel pack) mannaged to create a story that in itself is ? satisfying ? while not forcing players to wait for all too long.

This level is good but not good enough to get 10 out of 10, the problems i found in this level may seem minor as they are more related to lacking strengths as opposed to present problems..

Gameplay:9/10

The gameplay in this level is quick and lethal, were 1 second of lacking awareness will often result in the sackboy being burnt, but despite the difficulty of getting a good time the frustration elements are completely irrelevant !

You will climb, jump, and grab ur way trough the hinders in this level, although you will probably die a lot in case you haven't played the level before ( At one point you need to fall down and grab the moving platform but on your'e first play trough you won't see the hint before it is to late and you die).

Adding infinite checkpoints might seem as a lame descission givving that this level is suppost to be a test of the players skill level, but it is not as the time you loose is a sufficient penalty. Infact this decision won't bother ? expert plattformists ? as they would be able to race trough the level without dying anyways, while lesser players will still be able to enjoy the level but won't get a good rank in the end.

One thing I really fancied about the game play is the fact that this level somehow provokes you into trying multiple times in order to unlock a better rank ( and most certainly not for the object you will win if you get the highest rank rofl). Only very rarely will a level be able to cultivate me in such a fashion but this one did. I didn't manage to unlock the highest rank but I did manage to get the ? pro rank ? ( For the higher ranks you need to restart the level if you die or else you won't be able to make it)

There is no real cons to the game play, the only reason as to why the game play won't get a perfect score is that you could have had even more variation, although this level has a lot of variation to it. The later parts is far to centered around MOVING PLATTFORMS..

?.This is just a minor problem that is very hard to detect but it is good enough to stop you from getting 10/10 on game play. Perhaps the same kind of moving platforms as you see in the first Arabic would fit well in this level ?

* Also worth noting is made for 1 player, but i tested it with a friend and it works well as a multiplayer level too lolz xD.

Visuals/Sound effects:8/10

The visuals in the level are good enough to be enjoyable yes, but there are certain minor things that adds up and gives me the impression that you were more focused on the game play/making visuals just good enough to wow the casual players.

There are parts of the visuals that are stunning such as the glowing emit effects and letters in the level ( as glass like ? Loading ? will emit, or you see fire starter in the background as you are pushed trough the level with a fierce velocity)

This level is very beautiful yes ( 8,5/10 if i were to give sound and visuals separate scores) but if you want to get + 9 on anything a pedantic eye for details is nearly inevitable, if you can in addition channel this ambition/attention to detail to fit some kind of larger picture you will unlock the dark secrets of a full score <3!

First of all, at certain points in the level a different material with a more clean metallic look would have contributed to the overall impression that is left after enjoying this level ( The wheels in my pic for example simply feel to soft, you need to emulate a different kind of effect. This is very hard but certain descissions as covering a thick layer of sponge with a thin layer of metal or adding realistic stickers such as dirt to the wheels will give them an improved feeling.)

Second of all, although this is extremely minor. I think that the glowing VR material could have been used better as although the glowing edge of the VR material looks good the inner parts of the VR materials is often less usable in levels. By using the edge of the VR material and another more fitting material you will give you're level a more professional look, ( Yes i know this is a ridiculously small complaint but i want to help you get you're next level like this even closer to 10/10)

As far as the sound effect goes, The audio found in this level is simply not good enough. I would be satisfied if this was the average level in the cool pages, but this was submitted as an entry in my review thread and therefore i have greater expectations, I think you need to play around more with the MGS/Mechanical/Misc sound effects as these are easy to use and can really raise your'e level over the rest, there are some sound effects in this level but i expect a lot more and since this is sup post to be a VR level i need way more futuristic sound to further fool me that i am indeed a competitor in a futuristic game show.

It seems as if you thought that a few sound effects and the marvel music playing would be good enough for the casual players, but satisfying a reviewer and a player are 2 different things. You need more cunning, ambition, and attention to detail if you want to score 8+/10 on the sound effects my friend ( You only get 6,5 here and YES I know that 6,5 +8,5 divided in 2 is not 8 but these scores are mostly a gut feeling to give the reader some kind of idea of how good or bad the level looks/feels)

Misc:8/10

Mayor deduction,..... Despite the fact that this level has a good optional cut scene, i feel that the atmosphere, the theme in this level is somehow twisted. If i am playing a virtual level AKA contestants get hats that makes the think they are in a fictional world. Then why does it look more like a Japanese game show gone wrong ? Or a practice course for super heroes ? You should have renamed the level and made it more like an obstacle course that is intended as training for super heroes as this would have made more sense.

How should this level atmosphere have been for a VR game show ? Maybe you could have used lamps in combination with thin gas to emulate your'e own virtual lava/fire pit, while making the background mostly black with a few colorful details or even having a virtual computer net background( VR Green that creates the same kind of background effect that you can see in World of goo Information super highway).

But despite the levels obvious shortcomings as far as theme and atmosphere is concerned, this level does have a lot of cleaver innovations and decisions, such as infinite checkpoints, a ranking system, some cool effects, optional cut scene that can be avoided or embraced and finally, even a ghost replay of the champion that you are trying to beat witch is very well done ( Although i only saw the beginning as i died when trying to catch up lol and he was to fast more me to take a shot at him =( )

Verdict9/10

Even though the shortcoming in attention to detail and ambition is present to those who are looking for it, the cleaver innovations, excellent game-play and uplifting visuals can not be ignored, this level is a very good level single player level for those wanting to test their skills.

The reason this is getting 9/10 is because i am going to heart the level ( Not hearted it yet but will next time i come online on PSN). And i recommend this level to anybody who is tired of the tedious shark and bomb survivals that ? litter the orbit around little big planet ? as I said in a previus review =)


Suggestions:
More ambition.
More attention to detail.
Try to make the visual and sound effect connected to the story and the atmosphere/theme you are trying to pursue in the level !

Some parts of my review might have been harsh, but i want to exaggerate the errors in excellent levels so the next one you make will be even better, if it does not kill you it will make you stronger ^^.

Well it is possible because all you need to do is to change the name of the level, delete and change the cutscene ( To change to a more fitting theme ) And then use stickers and audio objects, since stickers and audio objects are very thermo cheap you could do a whole lot of enhancing on the level still i guess.

I think reviewing bad levels is more entertaining then reviewing good levels, The cirque de la nut level looks interesting but it will propably be hard ot find errors givven that it has 40 000 + plays and 4 stars so i think i will review it later after i have bashed enough levels =)

Now when this decision has been made a more serious one is looming, should i over exaggerate the good parts of this level to inspire and compel the creator to improve the next one ? Or should i make the negative parts prominent to in one sense challenge the creator to make the next edition better ?

Well the biggest rewards in life are won trough internal struggles, therefore the truth must be exposed and the maker shall learn he hard wa, despite the fact that the idea itself isn't that common on LBP ( Staying alive as the undeads are trying to kill you) the level really wasn't anything special...

The first impression in this level leaves me thinking that you made it as a possible quick fad capable of getting a high rank despite little effort put into the actual level ( just like bomb survivals and shark survivals). It is simply very bad and not the kind of start you would expect from a zombie survival.


There are many errors in this level and few things that saves it from being abysmal, unless put in comparrision with some of the shark survivals on the first cool page bleh. I hope that this review as harsh as it might be at times will compell the maker to gather knowlledge and try to put some more heart into the next one he makes.

So what is the gameplay in this level ? Jump on a never ending stream of retarded zombies to get as much points as possible before you die ? That's it and hardly anything else as far as gameplay is concerned in this level ( You can shot them but why bother when it is much easier to simply stomp on their brains.)

Even survivals were you do the samething over and over again can avoid feeling repetitive by for example trying to cover the repetitive gameplay with nice sound effects/stunning visuals that will attract the players attention, But even an excellent background/building wouldn't be good enough to rid my mouth off the repetitive feeling i am left with as i try to play trough the level.

The difficulty is ok, unless you are playing dirty to get a high score or trying to get good photos for you're review but get killed by zombies lol xD ( Even though you are not getting any score deduction for the fact that i died when taking pics !). Incase you want to play as intended by the creator you will find the difficulty to be good, as you will die sometimes while being able to stay alive forever.

But if you want to exploit the level that is very easy, simply hang on one of the sponges in the roof for as long as you can before quitting the boring level. And you're feet will be just long enough to touch the zombies brain and you can effortlessly get as much points as you want before quitting in boredoom. This is a seriuos error as you should not be able to exploit levels that are point based in anyway. And it will be a big blow for your'e score since i am not going to be motivated to play trough a level honestly when i can get much more points much easier simply by holding r1 forever....

There are 2 diffrent parts in the level and once enough zombies has been killed you can unlock the second one. But why do i need to move when i can simply hang on the same sponge from the roof and get INF points ? The second part allso looks exactly the same way as the first part so it doesn't feel like i am being rewarded for killing enough zombies.

There are some innovations that could have been a good idea if it wasn't for the actual concept of the level, The zombies will pop up infront of windows that you can barricate for a limited ammount of times to make the level less hectic for a short period of time, this is not a bad idea but you get points for every zombie bashed, not for every second you stay alive. So why would i ever want to barricate the door when i need the points ( Unless you are taking pics of the level)?

It feels like you are doing the same thing over and over again. I am sorry my friend but it simply isn't good enough for me to be even mentionally impressed. A few plusses for the fact that the level could have been alot worse though.

Visuals/Sound effects5/10

The maker obviusly put more heart into the visuals and sound effects. You will at least not see any visible darkmatter. But the effects for this level leaves you hungry for more.

First of all, why is there unstickerd dissolve in the level ? The green color of the dissolve emits a cutting effect that makes ur eyes bleed if you gaze upon it long enough, Next time you better take a pic of a good material and sticker this to the dissolve to give the dissolve a different feeling, a different look !

Secondly, do you really think any pro would ever be satisfied with the white gas that surrounds the house ? Of course it shouldn't be possible to leave the survival area hence this is a survival level. You should have made a burnt down zombie effected neighbor hood instead ( Or frozen wilderness if you are in a remote house). But obviously you need to get some more knowledge about how to create a good looking level before you would be able to pull such a feat off.

It is good that you tried to add some effects, such as realistic stickers and blood. But even that somehow leaves me unsatisfied, simply put it doesn't look authentic at all. I would have had more blood spread in a more realistic way over the level ( and maybe some human remains/corpse as well ?)

Also the zombies need to be way more elaborated and maybe different skins would be a good visual touch. The zombies you user right now look to cute somehow. In this event It would be best to make the enemies dark and realistic as well imho =).

Best way to describe the sound effects for this level is ? Bleh ?, i am not amused with the silly sound effect played when the zombies are decimated. If you have bought monster kid/collosus kit you can make extremely good sound effects for when the zombies die. Otherwise you could simply use the human audio object for more dramatic effects. The silly one you used ( Crying baby) simply doesn't fit well with the dark theme you have chosen for you're level.

Also some other sound effects would be nice, for example how come there is no sound effects when you shoot the bridge down ?

The music needs to be either more suspense or more dramatic as well ( As long as it ain't Battle on the ices that would give ur level an even worse impression lawlz.). The music played right now is to plain i must say.

So overall NO i am not impressed at the least, the quality of this levels visual and sounds is not anyway near good enough and certainly not the high quality that i am looking for when i review. I recomend playing around with the effects in the game more.

Misc:3/10

This level is poorly planned and obliviously not enough heart has been put into it, why would i heart a heartless level ? Obliviously there is no reason to waste my hearts on this kinda rubbish. Why is it that i am hinted to barricade to stay alive longer when the only way to get more points is to kill zombies ? Why would i want to go to the second part when i can simply stay in the first and get more points there ?

The idea itself isn't really bad although it isn't original, but you need to be more ambitious then this. Either that or you should be happy with copying >insert random shark survival< and republishing it to get many plays. Because if this is the fullest potential you have then why even bother trying to get plays by making when you can simply copy bomb or sharks urvivals ?

The atmosphere in this level may be summarized as one big fail, the zombies don't look bloody or scary at all, but the level itself looks to dark to give the level a wacky cartoony look. You need to have one kind of theme and stick to it ( Very rarely will mixing themes be successive, but some times for example mixing cute with darkNbloody will give the level a sick and excellent theme.)

No my friend there is no reason to play this level. Despite the fact that this level is actually very short and empty of content it still manages to evoke a tediously repetitive feeling. This is a level you should avoid unless you have been asked to review it =*(

thanks for reviewing my level the reason why its noobish is because it IS! these levels are really old and from when i started in lbp so there like from feb 09 lol. As for your thoughts on the level,these is much better than those bomb survivals, they suck *** and no i dont have 70% thermo left i have like a less than a quarter on it. i dont know how you heard crying baby when you killed a zombie because i didnt put that sound effect in lol. as for the the sponges i took these out in 5 because of cheating, which you didnt do, did you? lol so the in 5 the gameplay was improve a lil bit cos you also wouldnt expose your to a zombie muching for trying to board up the windows. i have learnt from the mistakes from the previous levels and hopefully if i ever finish number 6 which has been in the making for over a year and delete and remade over 7 times now but hopefully when done its a much improved level. i will be constantly updating these levels to improve them. At the moment i havent made anything for over a year now, ive just been playing online and learning from other creators to gain more skill. i also have a new project that ill be starting soon Called Butcher, its a Survival Horror with a Cannablistic serial killer. ive lerning the ways of making horror levels from my fave creator at the mo xXdeleriumXx and his Morbid Despair level so hopefully ill capture the horror feel and make really gd level . when its done ill like you to review it if you want 2010-09-07 18:13:00

Well i have 2 reviews in progress ( As in writing them, the levels have been played and all the screenshots are on my pc) I should have 1 of theese ready today ( Dragonica cave).

Well i heard some kind of light sound effect when i bashed the zombies artise, and ofcourse if you are makign a score based level that players take seriuosly they are going to see if they can find ways to cheat ( A suprisingly huge number will find exploits in ur level that you can't find because you are playing it as you want the players to play the level, they don't have this preconcieved idea as of how it should be played and can find glitches and explotis lots easier. For example the 4 x from POTC is possible with 2 players and me and my brotehr found this exploit on our very first run because we wanted to see if it was possible rofl).

I will make sure to play wooden plattform N thecloudywolf level tomorrow. Now i will write a 5th review while enjoying good music <3 =)

Now after finding an appropriate costume for the level, i shall hop straight into the reviewing part.
As far as the actual review for this level is concerned.

In this level you play as an investigator of some sort who is sent out to see what has happened with a crew that hasn't returned yes. Obviously they must have been eaten by the dangerous radioactive plants that inhabits these mysterious caves.

From the very first moment i could see that there was some real effort and some ambition in this level, given the nice visual presentation. This level is unique if compared to the mini-games that are abundant in lbp but it when put in comparison to other lbpcs level it is not really anything special.

So without further ado lets head right to the scoring part and see how well this one copes...

Gameplay:7/10

The gameplay in this level is by no means bad, hit a switch shoot a plant lets jump and lets swim..., however even though the gameplay elements in this level are good in their own right. This level simply fails as far as getting me really big time excited for playing it.

In order for a girl to get 10/10 from me, good ? visuals ? aren't enough, there has to be something about my personality that makes me fall in love with her. Ur level has the needed gameplay but it lacks the little extra magic as far as the gameplay aspect is concerned and therefore does not manage to make me fool in love with this level.

One of the potential reasons as to why i didn't fall in love with this level was the enemies and the boss fights. I don't think that the default mgs paint gun combat is fitting for sack eating plants. Although this is maybe asking a whole lot. I would have been much more likely to fall in love with the level if the enemies and the boss tried to eat me alive since that would feel refreshing when 80 percent of all user made bosses seems to be the default paint gun boss...

The boss fight is also very average, better then most paint based boss fights but it wasn't as epic as a boss fight were you have to avoid a big plant trying to eat you. This isn't really a minus at all. It is more like something that could have filled a lot of the empty space between 7 and 10 in the gameplay score

This is very hard to explain, because the gameplay score isn't 100 percent gameplay, it isn't even a real score it is merely a gut feeling. But very strong lacks in other aspects witch i am to visits drags the score for the gameplay in this level down a notch. Since everything is connected !!!!!

Visual/Sound effects:6/10

Why am i giving you the level 6 out of 10 when looking at the review pics is an obvious delight ? The reason is that the sound effects/music for this level really sucks. Yes the visuals in itself would get 8-9/10 if reviewed separately, but i am not reviewing it separately.

And the 2 plant species you will face, aka normal plant and boss plant both look very well done from a visual perspective so i will command you for that =)

As great as the visuals in this level are, the sound effects in this level is very poorly made. I take it you wanted to create a suspicious feeling to the level ? In that case you need to think more about the seemingly small details that will effect the overall grade in a negative fashion. Just the simple fact that there is no sound effect for the lever you pull to enter the second room is a big turn off for me. You need to think about these hilariously small details that a lot of players wouldn't notice unless they were looking for faults.

Sound effects could have been used a lot better trough a lot the entire level. When you want to build a suspicious atmosphere ( AKA next room might be filled with monsters that are going to kill me so i better be careful.) You can play on players paranoia by enlarging the sounds for different things and adding sound effects such as ? Foreboding-Misc ? and ? Heartbeat-Monster Kit ? and ? Creak-Mechanical and more.

Even though the audio of this level was clearly lacking i still command you for the dedication you showed for the visuals, as items from Verabee pack was used abnormally appropriately. I think you should play a bit more with the sound effects. You can create quite a lot of really good sound effects by combining several sounds at once, in fact it is even possible to create entire songs with this technique not commonly used by the average creator.

Misc:6/10

This level isn't very original tbh, this is the default level for a ambitious person who wants to create a good adventure level ( Story, Action,Visuals;Audio ?!). It would have been possible to make the level alot better by trying to be more original.

The fact that the atmosphere in this level is very poorly done ( How am i suppost to feel scared if the music isn't suspicious or slow at all ? How could i think this level is wacky if the graphics for the level look so realistic and there aren't enough comedy sound effects ? ) Is a big turn off for me.

Story is as mentioned not important in 10 minutes excursions, Atmosphere however is a lot more important and can even fill the void left when the story is cut ( I can guess that you need to fight with monsters if i can see some buildings that have been stomped and destroyed without any subtitle saying this to me. I can guess that this is a wild and wacky level if i see twisted clowns busy killing people while hearing lighthearted comedy sound effects. So a creator that is truly skilled at creating an atmosphere may even be able to skip story telling in a normal sense whatsoever.)

Here however this would not be possible. I would not be able to guess what i was doing with this kind of combination of music and nonexistent sound effects and misplaced music. If i can not feel what is going on in the level story wise just by absorbing the atmosphere the level won't get 10/10 on visuals/sound effects.

I can see that you tried to do this, because there are flashing lights in the level and at some places there are sound effects. But you could say that the sound in this level isn't very ? sound ? at all..

I think that this level isn't really special in anyway and is easy to forget ( In fact i had to check the level again because i didn't remember a few things.), the level will not leave a lasting impression in my mind..

You need to fix the errors i already mentioned and give me a reason as to why i should play it over the other 3 million levels, because there are at least a 100s of adventure levels that will top this one in the English lbp,,,, i could only imagine what could be found in the Japanese =0.

Thanks for the advice! I totally understand what you mean by the lack of sound... I struggle with that sort of thing. In fact, one of my buddies on LBP told me that several times while playing through this level themselves.

When you want to build a suspicious atmosphere ( AKA next room might be filled with monsters that are going to kill me so i better be careful.) You can play on players paranoia by enlarging the sounds for different things and adding sound effects such as ? Foreboding-Misc ? and ? Heartbeat-Monster Kit ? and ? Creak-Mechanical and more.

Very nice tip, I'll take that into account.. While working on my next level, I thought about how "non-suspenseful" my level is. Its like, "Well hey, looky there! There's a plant..." I need to find a way to make my plant monsters seems frightening and maybe more surprising to the player.

First impression was wannabe Media Molecule, as combining cardboard structures with the gardens background. Not necessary saying that such a concept is destined to fail, it worked very well in the story levels. But here it doesn't look good at all. In fact as JordanMcc said the levels first impression was ? lazy ?.

After the first impression, the level continuously bombarded me with ? sloppy ? vibes. Although there is some measure of creativity that may be found in thees 2 series, as far as the platform obstacles are concerned. It felt like just a few minutes of thinking, and 20 minutes of polishing could have easily elevated this level into a higher league.

I didn't think that the visual style chosen worked well at all tbh. It felt sloppy, as simply wished to be productive and waste as little time as possible on polishing the level just so you could spit it out, get 10 000s of plays and then in a matter of mere hours publish the next entries thus continuously keeping a spot in the cool pages.

But as for me i am not as easily fooled as >insert random annoying British kid < that i would actually be impressed by this visual style. Not to mention the music chosen, if you wanted to make a level were the atmosphere you pursued was ? competitive ? Then you should know that the gardens music does not fit well at all, if you wanted to get a happy atmosphere then you need to make the level happy as well to make it fit together.

The gameplay of this series isn't really bad at all, but it is unbalanced and at some points it was less then satisfactory.....

The game play for this level ?is ? pseudo decent ? at best and ? unbalanced ? at worst. It goes from being playable to being horrible. And although there are several obstacles that ensures that this level is not repetitive it just doesn't feel varied.

There are some good elements here that i felt were unique and good. Such as the balloon. But the instant joy was quickly replaced by moaning as i couldn't do much with the balloon. I really wanted to soar high and best the level with my balloon but no no no you had to restrict it...=(

Other parts such as the part were you have to take the bomb and go trough a tunnel with a rotating part in it felt forced in somehow. And very frustrating tbh. All though dodging the actual spinning part isn't too hard the bomb will often explode anyways due to the levels design.

As far as the unbalanced parts in the 2 series, i really didn't like the retarded snowing part and the spiky part from the second level. In fact i even quitted right after dying several times at the spike parts because a level that demands such coordination must compel the player into being interested in what is to come in the level. But here i felt unmotivated and didn't feel like venturing further into the level...

You need to make the game play better, more compelling and and simply more balanced. This really isn't anything special tbh. If you are demanding so much from the players you need to make sure that just the honor of playing the level will be motivate enough for me to push on and try again =O.

Visuals/Sound:5/10

The main word in witch the entire visual style can be described is ? lazy ?, it seems as if you though having some cardboard platform with with color doodles would be good enough ? No it is insufficient and even harmful for most of the times.

As i said previously the contrast between anti-elaborated and the in game extremely detailed areas provides a razor sharp contrast that inflicts serious pains to ones vision that may never ever be truly repaired..

I can understand/appreciate what you were trying to achieve, Quite a lot of times a simplistic background can elevate the score of a level rather then the opposite. But these levels still has a lot of effort as far as design goes. However in this level the supposedly simplistic visual design's simply horribly bad.

Sometimes a simplistic level design serves to promote game play as players are less likely to be distracted and still unlikely to be bored. In this level players are actually MORE likely to be distracted by the contrast and MORE likely to wanna quit as the levels first, second and lasting impression simply sucks. Perhaps this level should have looked more like this `? ( Made by me not ultimate clay)

Just a simply decision, such as putting lightning to zero could have really boosted the value of the visuals by twice(although I don't know whats wrong with the pic since in game it was 100 percent dark background). But you didn't even spend that much thinking time on that and as stated the reason as to why you used such a simplistic design was so that you could be more ? productive ?

Another thing that bugged me somewhat was this random goat sticker that I saw troughout your'e level. Why did you place some random detailed sticker in a level were a simplistic design was obviously what you wanted to achieve ?

The sound/music for this level was nothing special, although it was much better then the visual style. That said some additional work on the audio aspect of this level would only serve the level well.

Misc:3/10

This level is not original, and it felt really ? basic ? in a bad way lol. And the atmosphere here isn't fitting at all. If you wanted to create an atmosphere that was ? competitive ? then changing music to something else more ? speedy ? would help a lot since the gardens intro is to calm. Also adding a rank would be a good idea, not only an optional race.

One question I would like to pose it, why did you think adding a snow part was a good idea ? This is ? basic ? platformer not ? random ? platformer. And the snow part really is something I resent lawl.

I think more ? heart ? into forging this level would be sincerely appropriate. You need to coordinate sound effects, visuals,music,gameplay element to create a feeling for the level. Like ? I NEED TO RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE ? for example.

Mediocre and unnecessary. This levels review dragged on because it was mediocre, i can't embrace it because i didn't love it and i can't bash it because it isn't that bad >< hope my next level is etheir brilliant or rubbish.. So I will at least enjoy one aspect of reviewing =).

I don't see any reason for my readers to waste their time on this level tbh. It would be best left alone and you should go and play something else instead. Either the creator is a noob or doesn't have any commitment to past into the level ( probably both).

Suggestions
Have a 1 colored black background ( set light to zero in the global options).
Make sure to make the level well designed (for example use the realistic dirt sticker to give you're level a toned down shade, or corner editor to form the cardboard into castles or such. The idea of cardboard structure isn't bad but you need to view the level as a whole to make the necessary tweaks).
Free the players from restrictions, not the opposite ! I want to be able to take my balloon wherever i want in the level. It had so much potential and promise what a shame =(.
Make the level shorter and give the player one life N race clock + points to contribute to the levels minigame/challenge/Lighthearted atmosphere.

* I couldnt transfer the photo from my ps3<Mp3<Pc thats why i googled a basic sack instead of using one of my other screensnaps, atleast i mannaged to get all the other ones one though

Ah, thanks for the review. The suggestions are good, except for one. The balloon one. That would really break the level with all the jumps and stuff. Plus the visual style was set there for more thermo. Plus you didn't have to call me a noob :/

Other than that, good suggestions and I'll take them into account if I ever make a third.

Well writing my reviews is not an easy task lol, first i need to clear my mind sicne if i say got a headace or if i am tired then i will tend to give a level a lesser score ( Wich is why Basic plattformer reveiw took so long time because i had to replay it when i no longer had headace). Allso i need to change to a new costume for every level ( And sometimes even every pick.) And i need to take a massive ammount of screenshots and transfer it to the pc. Then i need to unleash my creativity and write a massve ammount of content oO I mean most other reviews are less then 1/5 of what i do. And despite the fact that i write alot more i need to make sure that the entire text is of very high quality.

The most important thing for me is that the review is entertaining and has an unique feel to it, i want to implent the same style of speduo sarcasting overly complex language as found on Swedish Gamereactors review. I think this is the best way for me to contribute to the lbp community since i am such a perfectionist. I won't release a level nowadays unless i consider it to be the best and highest quality availible and as a result i haven't made a level for well over a year =OOOOO i am 50 percent doen on a project right now a " survival challenge " that me and Jordan MCC are doign and i have spent several hundreds of hours doing effects and bosses for Chicken Mania 2. And now when lbp2 looming i have abandond chicken mania 2 untill lbp2 since all lbp1 levels needs to be out ( Lets see if i can get the Survival project out in time ).

One good thing is that i did gain alot of skill and insight as i constantly didn't live up to my unforgiving expectations. So i am very good at sound effects and so. Even my early nowadays gone level, first i ever made had alot of ambition and looked really good compared to the average first level ( Allthough never published and right now deleted. It included ideas such as riding a jetpack cow to a slaughter house, Climbing on a big Floaty Monster that was eating cows. Trying to run as a strictly dissolve temple omited into oblivion leaving you to fall for a long time. Avoiding jumping piranha fish and avoding tiger plattforms that meowed as you got close ( Not 100 percent original but alot more ambitius then the average first level.)

And on the 2 levels that i have published, Lunar explorer and Chicken mania. I did try to give the players soemthign they never seen before. And i succeeded according to Bridget and some other reviewers in lbpcentral ( The chicken Mania level was unique because you never saw wacky evil space chicken shoot at you + ufo soudn effects. The lunar explorer featured a vehicle that offerd an insane ammount of controll and was somethign enver seeen before or atleast never seen before by most players.)

I am overly ambitius both when it comes to review and levels. I want to give the player/reader something they never saw before in a stunning way. But writing reviews takes alot less time then making levels. And thats why i think it is my best way to contribute to the LBP culture and community as a whole.

I alrleady played the gray sunsest prelude level. I will take pics early tomorrow and the review will be up on Thursday ( I have a test that i need to study for Double Time on Thursday so i am not goign to write ne review on Wednessday.) And i will play the other levels as wlel and try to get them up before Monday. But as allways Quallity>Quantity.

Maybe i should add some kind of requirement in order to give me less reviews ? But that would be a bad idea since if i demanded that you must have 10 posts in the Showcase topic then i would allmost only get good levels and i want to review bad levels to not only good levels =OOOOOOO I just don't like doing mediocre reviews........

Hmm the pics doesn't do this level justice... in the level it is Gray and suspenseful but here it is colorful and bright.. So i pledge the readers to use their imagination =O

The first thing this level managed to do was to really drag me in with the excellent narrating. I don't know if i ever saw such an excellent narrating ever before in little big planet. Maybe because i don't play story levels that often lol. But that's the best part of this level by a landslide. Maybe a little bit more narrating wouldn't hurt though ? And the setting as you entered looked good too!

After that you go on a boat ride, get marooned and have to find away out. This has been done before yes. But the under water visuals are breath taking as you first enter although they don't have any stickers cluttterd upon them !

And then you end up in a fascinating temple made up of extravagant gold ! And i must say that most of this levels visuals is beyond amazing. It is pseudo stunning and nearly breath taking ! But it could have been made a little bit better.. And certain ? errors ? could have been corrected, which i am to cover later in the review.

This level seems to be heavily focused on story. And as you aware subscribers already know i am going to include the story score in misc were originality and atmosphere already are. So this level seems to do excellent as far as story is concerned, but what about the more important gameplay aspect ?

As far as gameplay is concerned this level is clearly lacking a bit, i think that you should have had more gameplay elements then you have now. Although there is variation to be found. As in turning a giant maze so a key rolls out, swimming and elevating you're self trough elevators.

But it feels as if the gameplay is somehow one big anticlimax, you constantly sit there prepared for something epic as far as gameplay is concerned, some kind of amazing puzzle... Some kind of gigantic boss that wants to rip you a part cotton limb for limb !!!! But this level left me disappointed ?

The main problem is the atmosphere in the level, the intense music. it like prepares you for something divine. And you are left with nothing in the end. It kinda tears on you're nerves to be constantly awaiting something great and i do not fear well with disappointments or failed expectations !

Also in addition to this i must say that the difficulty was set very low, it never really felt like i was in danger of dying tbh =/. Although i resent levels that ? blame the noobishess of other players who can't complete them? AKA dastardingly hard level, it felt like even the common noob would have no problems with this level. You need to set the bar a bit higher and it will be perfect <3.

Visuals/Sounds:7/10

At first glance and beyond the underwater caves the graphics are nothing less then amazing !<3 ( Although the level is gray due to color correction..Which doesn't show in the pics.)

But there are several ? nitpicks ? that bothers me, some are minor while some are otherwise. For example the fact that you used an unstickerd lever, the fact that you had visible thrusters( Forgot the name lolz)

Also as far as the more major nitpicks are concerned, I'm not sure if using the Aztec gold material was the best gold for this level. It is possible to make ur own gold materials with cleaver stickering you know, the textures doesn't fit in 100 percent, and i do not really like the marvel material used for the boat. It felt somewhat lazy and unprofessional.

YES i am hilariously picky but in any level, especially a level like this that tries to drag you into the level. It is absolutely necessary that i am this ?picky ?. And most problems could have easily been fixed trough stickering and better choice of materials. Just because a British 8 year old kid won't notice it doesn't mean it is ok in my thread ^^.


As far as sound goes. The music in this level is far to intensive, although the music shall be suspicious and make the player anticipated for what is to come. But here the music you used is simply far to intense. It makes you prepared for a big villain, or something great.

The sound effects are ok. But even more and better sound effects would only do this level well ! You know that sometimes sound can be much more powerful then visuals.

Misc:7/10

the narrating in this level is beyond excellent ! It felt like i was reading a book at times.. Although perhaps some more narrating wouldn't really hurt the level of course. And maybe some kind of reason as to why i am using the boat ? Am i going fishing, visiting my mother in law or searching for treasure ?

If you are going to have a well narrated story. Make sure there are no ? potholes ?, as they will deduct the imaginary universe of it's believability. Unless you have devoted an uncanny effort guided by an uncanny with and story telling it would be best to leave story be ! That said this is really high class narrating =O.

There were some cleaver and subtle innovations here which i really liked, such as the part were you have to sacrifice a poor fool to a statue of the devil >< SATANISMS/ILLUMINATO IM GONNA GOOD GRIEF !!! ( j/k)

I really didn't like the atmosphere of this level. It was so tense and foreboding but nothing really happened. You should have had a less tense music and the atmosphere would have been more fitting. It is a big anti climax to go around tense N prepared for something big and then be not only disappointed, but shredded and nerve wrecked instead ! Although there seems to be room for a sequel given that you end up in a cave once the level is completed.

1) BEST CREATED CONNECT FOUR (2P ONLY), it is very professional made classic game connect-4, the best in LBP.
2) LITTLE BIG PYRAMID: TEMPLE OF TUTANKHAMUN (LONG HARD EPIC LEVEL), this level is very, very long and inc 20 various chapters!!!, there is elements of skill, some bosses and the most original puzzles ever. If you like various gameplay, tricky levels, smart puzzles, some chalenges, long adventures, fun storylines (sackboy talking to you, lots of situation jokes) and you are looking for a something new what you never seen before then you will love this level.
3) LITTLE BIG PYRAMID 2: SECRET OF CLEOPATRA (LONG HARD EPIC LEVEL), read on top, level is the same good as 1st part of pyramid!!!
Coming this year, I hope very soon LITTLE BIG PYRAMID 3: MYSTERIOUS SKULLS (LONG HARD EPIC LEVEL)!!!
If you can review only one then start from 1).

Thanks doubletime, you see I don't want to waste your time so I'm only asking you to review my best levels what I've created. When I see 1 or 2 stars reviews I'm thinking that's wasting time so I don't ask you to review my other 4 levels, they are good but no so good as CONNECT FOUR and PYRAMIDS. Think whatever you want but CONNECT FOUR is the best one in LBP! I don't know you will like my PYRAMIDS because they are "different" and not for noobs. Anyway if for you the most important is various gameplay you will love my PYRAMIDS. They are probably the longest and the biggest levels in LBP but because they are so long I couldn't make best graphic. Anyway I would like see what are you thinking?2010-10-27 00:55:00

Hey there, fellow gadder! Good to see you doing reviews with a sense of integrity, feel more than free to rip my latest level apart:
The Temple of Bubbles: Part II (search for it EXACTLY as I have written it here.) It's the second level I put together (other than a god-awful obstacle course I made in the first two days I had LBP). It IS obviously the second in a series, but since you only review one at a time, I would much rather have the second reviewed before the first.
