Looks like an iTouch nano I've never owned an iPod, I have thought about buying one... I'm still not sure. Money is always an issue with me. That thing looks a bit too small for me, I would probably lose it somewhere...

Not only is there a new nano, but Apple is coming out with a new Apple TV, itouch, shuffle, and computer. OH YEAH, and a new bigger iPad. XD BTW, the screen on the new nano is bigger than the old version.

I could see washing that in the laundry.. poof, there goes $179, but some clean pants! Getting electronics wet kills them far less often than you would think. Water is a poor conductor, after all. Just soak the device in methyl hydrate and let it dry out, should be pretty much as good as new. That being said, the water behind the screen can be a bit more stubborn, but it will just look slightly discoloured in some places at the worst. It's best to avoid turning the device on until it's finished drying, and probably best to remove the battery as well (if possible).

I honesty don't understand.... If you're forking out that kind of money for an iPod, then you probably have a mobile phone that you carry with you, that is an equally good media player, thus making the iPod 100% redundant.... Are people just getting stupider?

Are people just getting stupider? This is the kind of question that you really don't want to know the answer to. At any rate, it's pretty much marketing at its finest (or worst, depends who you ask). I can guarantee that the vast majority of people buying the newer generations of iPods don't actually need them. But, that's half the brilliance of it all, isn't it?
