Huge Problem

Archive: 8 posts

Ok heres my dilemma, my lbp game for some weird reason is not saving my profile at all. When I am in create mode and I save my level or something, a message pops up that says "Unable to save player profile because of an unknown problem" now this wouldnt be so bothersome if it allowed me to keep my lvls saved, bc its not saving, if I turn off my ps3 and later get back on it, my lvl i was working on is back to where it last saved b4 the saving problem occurred. Bc of this, I'm having to make an online backup of the lvl, plus the game wont let me back up my current profile at all either. Help here would be greatly appreciated. O, and I do have an earlier backed-up version of my profile, like 4-5 months ago, I will try using this if it seems likely that I cannot fix this save profile, myb going to that one will fix it, who knows. Anywho, thanks in advance if you do find a solution to this 2010-09-01 15:57:00

The first thing I would do is try deleting some levels/objects/stickers/costumes to shrink your profile down. Profile size used to be a big problem, and it's supposed to have been fixed, but I figure it's still got a limit somewhere. Start with levels: if you can export levels, do that, otherwise make a locked online backup of any levels you wanna' try to delete. For objects and stickers, you'll want to stick them in vault levels and post them online too. There really isn't a way to back up costumes, unfortunately, so I'd save that as a last resort.

If that all fails, you'll probably be stuck with restoring your old backup. Just back up everything you can, import your profile and then grab all your backed up stuffs.... and I know it's not too helpful right now, but in the future, try to remember to back up your profile more often. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back up my profile.

I had this problem when my ps3 was alive.
All I did was deleting some heavy files (levels, objects...)
I never got the message again.

Also, while you are deleting, keep checking to see if you can back-up your profile after you delete a level. Keep doing that and when you can e-mail it to Mm. They are looking for saves to test with LBP2 and your full one might help.

The official thread is here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=34643-Creators-Mm-requests-your-saves%21).
