Creators - Mm requests your saves!
Archive: 69 posts
Hello all - this is a quick request for anyone with a number of levels on their moon - can we please have your save file? We won't do anything nefarious with your creations, we just want to use them to test backwards compatibility! If you have the time to spare, and you would like to help, please backup and send your saves to hello@mediamolecule.com with the subject 'I want to help QA, here is my save!' Thanks all Spaff.:star: | 2010-09-01 12:31:00 Author: Spaff_Molecule Posts: 421 |
Will do! I'll just back my level (I mean profile) up aaand send. Edit: Just sent it then. I have the layers glitch and the materials with properties of other materials glitch, and I think there are a few others | 2010-09-01 12:33:00 Author: Limesta- Posts: 559 |
Lol sorry... I'm confused what to do once you back the levels up! I'm not very technical! | 2010-09-01 12:34:00 Author: Tawarf Posts: 457 |
I'll try to get time to do this, my latest level uses several glitches (pretty much all but the 3d layer one) so I think it would help. | 2010-09-01 12:48:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
Lol sorry... I'm confused what to do once you back the levels up! I'm not very technical! Back it up and then copy to some kind of USB device or similar. There are a number of files in the LBP save folder, which I have no idea what they are, but you are best off transferring the back-up to your PC, zipping up the entire folder and then sending that zip file as an email attachment. | 2010-09-01 13:16:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
I don't get it. Is it the profile backup data, the level backup data, or the game save data from "game data utility" that they want? | 2010-09-01 14:01:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
I'll do it I'm always glad to help! | 2010-09-01 14:04:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
@Ungreth They're asking for your Profile, so send a Profile Backup to them. | 2010-09-01 14:05:00 Author: Limesta- Posts: 559 |
Just a quick test before you release the beta for us? | 2010-09-01 14:07:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
Hmm... Will do! *Runs* MMkay... Have you been looking into the ThecXmen glitch at all? I think the community narrowed it down to corruption, but that is not the case for anybody. My save will have ThecX glitch if you want to test it... (play with it!) | 2010-09-01 14:40:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
My profile is to big to be send by mail. | 2010-09-01 15:12:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
My profile is to big to be send by mail. Same here... I'd like to send my save, but Mm seems to request a specific title for the email. I tried to use something like MegaUpload and such, but I can't name the title using it. :/ | 2010-09-01 15:21:00 Author: Saku401 Posts: 83 |
Either will do - but it's the profile ideally that we want - i know they are big, a link to a download place will be just fine - these are really helping, thanks all! | 2010-09-01 15:29:00 Author: Spaff_Molecule Posts: 421 |
My profile is to big to be send by mail. Mine was too. All they want is your levels, so back your data up twice. Back it up once, then delete everyting you have besides your levels. Then back it up again but on a different data. I managed to trim only about 3MB, but that was enough to get it in an email. EDIT: Or just do what Spaff just posted.^.^ | 2010-09-01 15:29:00 Author: Limesta- Posts: 559 |
you probably want mine. | 2010-09-01 15:39:00 Author: bakscratch Posts: 258 |
If I do it, seeing as it helps make LBP2, could I get into the beta please? Otherwise, I don't know. Some of the stuff I was and am working on are kind of personal. | 2010-09-01 15:46:00 Author: Super_Dork_42 Posts: 1874 |
EDIT: oh its a profile back-up 0_o oopz i sended a level back-up. i'll send my profile back up then.. EDIT2: where to save on the web? | 2010-09-01 15:50:00 Author: Smelling-Cowboy Posts: 668 |

Yay! I sent my (trimmed) save. I trimmed it from over 15Mb down to under 8Mb. | 2010-09-01 16:12:00 Author: Saku401 Posts: 83 |

yknow i was wondering, does Spaff need this many save files? i mean i wouldve thought 1 would be enough, huh, guess they need to test the glitches and stuff, I'd send mine, but my levels are just filled with unfinished levels, and futuristic weapons. | 2010-09-01 16:26:00 Author: Merc Posts: 2135 |

Levels or profiles? I am thinking he means levels. I can send a few wacky things... Though I might have to explain some of it a bit as you might think "Does that really work that way!?!?!?!" or "What the heck was that!?!?!" LOL!! | 2010-09-01 16:54:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

Though I might have to explain some of it a bit as you might think "Does that really work that way!?!?!?!" or "What the heck was that!?!?!" LOL!! A profile back-up comes with all the levels though, so I'm assuming that is what he means. | 2010-09-01 22:50:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
OOh, I recently made the outside of the TARDIS which uses a couple of glitches (Mainly theck and the thin-theck or sub-theck) and I'm dying to know if I can transfer it to LBP2 !! How soon do you want these in? And I'm guessing there will be a lot of backups you won't be using! I'll just have to cross my fingers! OR If I get into the beta, maybe I could transfer that somehow? Hmm... | 2010-09-01 23:17:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |
Ill send mine, since my moon is almost full. EDIT: Sent! If it doesn't work tell me. | 2010-09-01 23:19:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |

Can I send it in two e-mails? Have you tried to compress it yet? Edit: It doesn't work well. Zipping mine cut down on 100 bytes. | 2010-09-01 23:53:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
@Spaff, and/or any molecule Would a profile affected by the TheX or Naux Glitches still be usable? I mean, considering they're not common and in soe way corrupted, I was wondering if that'd be good at all since not many are affected by it and may somehow affect its use. (Idk how'd it affect it, tho just asking, just in case.) | 2010-09-02 00:44:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
@Spaff, and/or any molecule I doubt they know what this is . Although Spaff knows about the Naux Glitch. ThecX-Men Some profiles are infected with a glitch that Gilgamesh coined as ThecX-Men. It is uncommon, but three examples of LBPC members that came forth to say they had it are KernelM, yarudark, and myself. We are killed by theck gas instantly, and because theck gas is soundless and invisible, we may not know why we've died. We can layer-shift through theck material and start gates/checkpoints from the back, but not from the front. ---Thin gas behind theck material can stop this, and we aren't affected by thin gas in any abnormal ways. ---We can spawn from a (theck) checkpoint or start gate into the layer behind it, rendering some levels unplayable or cheatable, meaning this is a harmful glitch. ---We can't pass through the theck parts of objects like the Incredibles Monorail Pod Top. Theck material can't be placed or smeared behind us in create mode, but it can be emmited behind us normally. We seem to stand back farther in our thick layer than other sackpeople. It doesn't go away if we restart LBP or the PS3, and I've had it for as long as I can remember, so it may be permanently linked to a profile. Also, new discoveries: If a ThecX-Men presses R1 in front of a grabbable theck material, he will fling to the nearest edge or "fissure" in the material. (Most people can only grab the edges and only when they are in front of the edges.) A "fissure" in grabbable material would be like this: If you took a square shape and cut two rectangular indentations in the sides, a ThecX-Men can grab the invisible two lines between the two points of the indentations, whereas a normal profile cannot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qLqFmIEW54 Note: he can only go back, and not forward. Yes... Theck material is technically a glitch, but most of these strange problems apply to checkpoints and start gates as well. http://i47.tinypic.com/oupnpk.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/uyjuu.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/2zyeus2.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/v3pqpu.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/2zss2e1.jpg I was able to get some pics of it. here are four pics, and a thorough description of the glitch. http://ayanet.org.uk/naux1.jpg http://ayanet.org.uk/naux2.jpg http://ayanet.org.uk/naux3.jpg http://ayanet.org.uk/naux4.jpg Notice how the head, body, and legs are all shorter then a regular Sackboy. And when hovering in create, on my screen, the legs are in a different position then normal. And on a friends screen, they appear as normal. Now, this may seem like a harmless glitch, but it has a few gameplay bugs as well. You see, my Sackboy is stuck in a crouching position. As if there was something over him. The gameplay issues became more apparent once water was released. I quickly realized two major problems. When in shallow water, he doesn't stand like normal, but swims as if he was in the deep. When at the surface, the game thinks he's still underwater. Meaning I can still drown at the surface, I can't jump out as high as normal, and I cant see him doing that cute doggy paddle. If anyone has experienced this glitch and knows how to fix it, please tell me. | 2010-09-02 01:14:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
Can do! Once I get home, Ill try sending it off. | 2010-09-02 01:19:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
Back it up and then copy to some kind of USB device or similar. There are a number of files in the LBP save folder, which I have no idea what they are, but you are best off transferring the back-up to your PC, zipping up the entire folder and then sending that zip file as an email attachment. You can't send it from your PS3? | 2010-09-02 02:19:00 Author: GreatWhite000 Posts: 673 |
Off topic, but why does Incinerator22's post have a scroll bar? http://gyazo.com/e6573e157c51c0ff3fb1289cc028f270.png Edit: Oh, it's the video in the first spoiler that's too big. I'd send in my save file but I'm not sure each level on my moon is safe, as in there might be a few levels on there which'll crash your PS3... | 2010-09-02 13:24:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Hehe, sent ! | 2010-09-02 14:22:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
You can't send it from your PS3? Nope, I was only able to select the .PNG image for the profile not the useful files. I sent my profile this morning. I still have all my levels (about 20) the newer levels should be representative of a pretty good cross-section of the undocumented "features" of the level editor. | 2010-09-02 14:48:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
I'll see that i can do! | 2010-09-02 16:09:00 Author: Unknown User |

I'll send you some of my noobie Levels (I've got only "noobie" Levels ). You know, I would do everything for a Beta-Key =D ~Karkan | 2010-09-02 21:23:00 Author: Karkan Posts: 9 |
Pssst... You forgot to writte how they can go behind Theck walls and they can spawn behind spawn/check-points... It's in a quote at the top. Quotes don't show other quotes in that post so it doesn't show up in your quote. | 2010-09-02 21:41:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |

My PS3 doesn't like my flash drive. It won't copy my save. Um.. Yeah.....um...... Help? It's a Sony drive too. And there is some non-PS3 stuff on it. Hmmm, strange... Maybe your PS3 doesn't recognize it as a peripheral device (unlikely...) Can't you use an USB key ? (I guess you can't, you would've already done it by now) Hmmm... He he, nice to feel useful! | 2010-09-03 20:11:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

Have tried copying something else ? I don't know what files you tried to copy exactly, but if it's a profile backup, it should work then. Try with another file like a picture or something. | 2010-09-03 20:31:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
