| I just got Farcry 2 today and have played it for about 4 hours. Let me just say this game is amazing. There is some much to do in it. The only thing that bugs me is that I want to do all of the missions but if you do one thing, it effects the other thing so you can't do it anymore. Makes sense? I was leaving to do this one mission and my cellphone rang in the game. I answered it and there was this weird voice asking me to do something; but I didn't catch it. The visuals are amazing!!! The fire is pretty realistic. The only bad thing that I have found so far is that the AI can sometimes be pretty bad but most of the time it is great. It's like they are stuck in a loop of shield up/shield down, repeat. If you shoot them when they're shield is down they will turn to you but if its time to put shield up they don't shoot. They don't move when theyre being shot, infact tehy hardly move at all. If your shooting them from a distance they often wont even shoot back. If this is what they've been working with, i'm still not interested, however if they cut it down just so that there were enemies in a level for people to sample tho online co-op, then fair enough. It looks awful you just stand there constantly firing at big aliens until they fall over. Tottally lost all interest in it now. | i have questions i would like awser as soon as possible i am definly get LBP because of it user creative level. Once i heard about this in Far cry 2 i started to be intrested, but i still want resistance 2 because it has a great story line. But i dont know which to get first so heres the questions How many players Online? is it spit screen offline and online? on the map editor can you have more then one person editing the map? What the online muitplayer like, is it more like halo like, or more like cod 4 or is it half away and does it lag? How long is the campagin, can i have a friend helping on the same ps3? Servers do they lag, can you have like custom game mode like zombie? | Have any of you played a mission with at tactical approach? I think the paths are too narrow to sneak past, so I go in with guns! and then die... your kinda right, but you can buy a camo suit and silenced weapons when you get enough diamonds, so thats the best time to go tactical! The fire seems to be true with explosive barrels and molotov cocktails, haven't tried the flamethrower yet.. (Don't even have it anymore, swapped it for the first RPG i came accross without even trying it. Whats your favourate weapon so far??? | My mini review for this game: Progress: 60% Time Spent: 15 hours. So far this game is great fun. However, unfortuanatly there is a fair bit of driving in the game. I don't mind this at all but i can see many getting annoyed by this. I also don't like how some missions dont get you diamonds (like buddy missions). I WANT DIAMONDS! Also, speaking of buddies... they go missing too easily for me. I was doing a mission and died.... but my buddy came rescued me. YAY. So i was fighting with him for a bit... then when it seemed clear to me i drove off to the next location (as i picked up the objective). However when the mission ended he is now reported as 'missing'. Thats it, he's out of the game. Also, in the second half i got malaria symptoms again (you start off with it in the game and have to get pills for it every now and again) and the doctor was never there. And in a mission where i stole a truck for a buddy and took it back... we were in the garage when he cut the electricity wires and i set off the gas tanks and we had a few minutes to escape the (albeit tiny) building. Then... i got my third malaria attack... and died! i woke up infront of the doctor, and he told me where to get the pills. I walked outside and had a phone call that was along the lines of 'hey man where are [line cut off]'. and now he is missing too. ****IT! Spoiler: now have 2 buddies left for the rest of the game Thanks to the story killing off 4 which i don't like! Some enemies also take a few too many bullets to kill. And thats all the bad things i have to say about the game. The rest is just brilliant. The presentation is on top, mostly due to the fact that you're never taken out of the action, be it looking at the map in game or no loading screens when starting missions, or seperate cutscenes. everything is in game and it's fantastic. At first i found the shooting mechanics a bit odd too but in time get used to it and realise it's actually brilliant. very smooth. At the beginning it may seem quite bad... but when you buy new guns everything is so much better. The real fun in the gameplay is going differently about each mission. You can always go in the same way each time... but you'll find this gets boring. So it's best to vary your approach. Most the time i go in sneaky... then when im in the middle just kill as many as possible while completing the objective. Othertimes i'll just go in with a rocket launcher and a grenade launcher and release hell to everyone! Graphics wise... this game is a beauty. While it's nothing revolutionary... the shadow effects are perfect... the lighting is done brilliantly. Great textures and always a very smooth framerate. Only two or three times has it stuttered. I did find one glitch where i made the map dissapear and reappear whenever i want... but that was cause i climbed a mountain i wasn't supposed to be able to. And the sound is of excellent quality. I do have one complaint that most of the dialogue seems very rushed. Everyone speeks so fast! Almost without having breaks to breath! Thank god there are subtitles. I did one online match today, and it was **** fun! I like how you can rescue wounded team mates and such. I can see this becoming a very addicting online game. I also tried out the map editor for a few hours. It does take a LONG time to make a decent map... i only finished the terrain and environment in my hour or two... with a few buildings but not much else. So: Graphics: 9.5 - Beautiful. Nothing revolutionary but still fantastic. Not much pop-in or framerate drops. Sound: 9.0 - Perfect ambient jungle/desert sounds. Shame about the speedy voice acting. Gameplay: 9.6 - Vary it and you'll be having fun with this for a long time. Lifespan: 9.4 - As stated above... potentially a long time.
