Saving the Sacksons: Part 1Hellobob5 You have been set on a task by some guy to save a peaceful race called the Sacksons. In part one, you start off walking through the 'prologue' if you must, explaining what the whole level is about, You then get a briefing from the general and off you pop into the adventure! Ooooooh! I am happy to review any feedback, tell me what you think and even give me some ideas so part 2 can be even better thanks everyone!! Oh also <3 and :star::star::star::star::star: Ta! | 2010-08-30 17:05:00 Author: Hellobob5 Posts: 382 |
Hi there... I've just played tyour level and It was fab! The only part I thought could be improved was the fact there was no background, That mayhave been your desired effect, but I think the Fantasy or Desert backgroudn would have suited it nicely, I'm looking foward to part Two! | 2010-08-30 17:26:00 Author: Struanmcd Posts: 333 |
Thanks! Its good to here someone enjoyed my level. The only reason I didnt put a background is because i would have needed a different background from the desert and the first part, so yeah thanks!! | 2010-08-31 10:30:00 Author: Hellobob5 Posts: 382 |
It's quite possible to create a third back layer which can be placed without disturbing the third thin layer This makes it possible to have two backgrounds at once without losing the third thin layer at the back, here's how it's done 1: Make an object, put it on the back layer and make it 1 fat layer thick. 2: Change it to the color you want your background to be 3: Make it a decent size, you will not be able to move or edit it later on... 4: Make a small thin shape on the front layer 5: Capture them both 6: Go into goodies bag, and find what you have just captured 7: Press the R button then place it, you will not be able to edit or move it from now on 8: Create the level in front of it, third thin layer will work as well Hope that helped! | 2010-08-31 10:35:00 Author: Struanmcd Posts: 333 |
I just thought i could have made the whole backgroun for the cardboard part just cardboard so it was inside a box or something? | 2010-08-31 10:39:00 Author: Hellobob5 Posts: 382 |
You could do... It depends on the effect you are going for | 2010-08-31 10:45:00 Author: Struanmcd Posts: 333 |

those eyes freak me out... Nice meteor effect! Yay, the Sacksons are dead! (That'll teach 'em to have creepy eyes! Hmmm... That coming from a guy who uses the Hoarder's eyes as an avatar... | 2010-09-01 13:49:00 Author: Struanmcd Posts: 333 |

Hi, Hellobob5! I played you level yesterday and found it very cool! Nice introduction, interesting story, beautiful environments and cool obstacles. Also all level mechanics work perfect! And level's difficult level are very good- it is not too difficult for new players and not too boring for advanced. So I gave you 5 stars and heart for this level and heart for you as creator. And I will look for level 2!!! | 2010-09-02 13:30:00 Author: Domik12 Posts: 838 |
This level is amazing, and you deserve a much better response than this. Good thing you're getting treated to a B3 In-Depth Review. Part I: Playthrough Okay, so a nice little cardboard town. Love the little mailbox. AWWWW, SOCUTE! Seriously, a cool idea with the loving Sackpeople. I like the story thus far, and the music fits nicely. Pulling switches, climbing platforms, all fun, and it looks great too. WHAT? Those bandits dare attack this adorable cardboard city? THEY WILL PAY. > Okay, so I've got my mission an- wow, awesome mountain. Great looks here. Wait... I was just there! Why do I have to cross a desert? Oh well, who says you need good reasons for awesome platforming... Speaking of awesome, the desert looks amazing, it's almost as good a Spark151's Journey's desert. Nice work with the corner editor here. Okay, so down the hole I go! Love the choose your death-o-matic here, and the wheel is a cool idea. Sticker work in the chamber is very good as well. Well, I don't have much to say about the rest, except it continues to look great and play well. Can't wait for the next part. Part II: Summary Great level here. Not too great of a story, but who needs that when you have great platforming and great visuals. :-D A fun cardboard world needs saving, and everyone who plays LBP should step up to the challenge, because this level is fantastic. Not much to say other than that. ;-) Part III: Review Looks: 5/5 Platforming: 4/5 Story: 4/5 Originality: 4/5 Replay Value: 5/5 Five stars and a raided cardboard heart! And a creator heart too! Great job. :-D | 2010-09-03 00:19:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
wow what an honour from an awesome creator saying my level is awesome and to be compared to journey, thats just wow!!! The only reason the cardboard city was at the start is because it was like a mission briefing-hence the person talking to you in the building- so yeah im pleased you enjoyed it, im workin on part 2 now and i promise that it will be even better than this one!!!! Thanx! | 2010-09-06 18:21:00 Author: Hellobob5 Posts: 382 |
