LBP Moments In Real Life

Archive: 65 posts

I am going to be late for class but thats ok I have been thinking about making this thread for a while and now I just can't resist! Ok so heres how this thread should work. List something that has happened in your everyday life that got your mind thinking about LBP, it could be something that inspired you or a random fact, or something along those lines, so heres my LBP moment, I have been working in a chicken fast food restaurant for about a month and one day I'm at the front using the register, my boss comes up to me and says that one of the other employees will be helping me get my orders and will be my "sackboy", immediately my mind flashed to LBP and I seriously almost laughed out loud. So... what's your LBP moment?2010-08-30 15:56:00

I can't stop thinking about levels design in real life, so almost every moment is an LBP moment. Especially when I draw sketches of them in my notepad.2010-08-30 19:38:00

Me and my friend were at Quizzonos and the Open sign had a lot of wires behind it that were visible inside the resteraunt, and i said... Dude look at the logic behind that!2010-08-30 21:08:00

Everytime I play any other video game I say "Could that work in LBP?" Whether its platforming in Mario or shooting a gas tank in Uncharted.

I've also got into logic in real life. I cracked open my tv remote and found out (basically) how it worked. I felt like an engineer!

Yesterday I was laying in bed watching a movie on my laptop, I got some pillows and replaced them a few times untill they were in a position that didn't hurt my back.. At some point I changed them again to a bad position and I wanted to Undo this by using the left D-pad. Darn that would come in handy!2010-08-30 22:07:00

I often want to hit the rewind in real life. I also recently got moved to a new office that has a window looking out to the top of the next building. I keep thinking what a great place for sniper. Oh, and the other day I heard someone at work naming off names of people she needed to talk to about some IT problems. When she reached the last name she said, "Oh, and Jack of course." I almost fell off my chair laughing .2010-08-30 22:35:00

I wish I could undo all the time IRL! And yesterday my friend was explaining something to me about swing chains and he used LBP winches to get his point across. I laughed.2010-08-30 22:35:00

I was walking my dog and we were crossing a large, empty, playing field. I thought, 'Whoever made this didn't know how to use the 50 layer glitch properly.' then I realised that I wasn't playing LBP!2010-08-30 23:08:00

I love LBP as much as the next guy but, i'm not sure I think about it non stop. I mean, it's not like I go to work and want to open my poppit and place a Atom Bomb in some customers' pants or anything.

What?

I'm having a blast reading all these posts guys, even though lbp is just a game, it has embedded itself inside the recesses of our brains and shows no signs of letting go! I loved how some of you wished you had a rewind button, that would come in handy for those of us who talk without thinking first. I think this goes to show that we all have lbp in our everyday lives, one way or another. I just hope none of us decides to jump and swing on a hanging light or anything!2010-08-31 15:09:00

Yeah, this is the only game that actually uses the whole of your brain and creativity so that's why it gets lodged in my head!

Anyway, watching TV makes me want to make a TV.... O.o

I read a post similiar to this thread one day, and told myself that will never happen to me.

The same day I dropped an empty water bottle and tried to undo. I laid my head on my desk in shame.

I just finished re-painting the garden swing seat and about half way through I thought, why don't I just enlarge the brown sticker and then place it!
Oh well, I got ?30 for doing it. (No-one else wanted to)

Today we had a test, after it me and my friend were talking about it, he said he put an certain answer to one of the questions, and then I said: "You are wrong, the answer was another!". Then he said: "Ahhhh, why didn't I use the logic???"

Guess what came first to my mind.

I would think that being a ">er" has given you much grief over not having undo control like you have in videogames. And PBear, that was some smart thinking about enlarging a brown sticker, lbp has it's moments in life

They use these active board things at my school and it has this little Pop-It shaped tab on the side with a whole bunch of different colors and tools in it. The first time I saw that I instantly started comparing the tools of that to the tools in LBP.

The one at school has no pistons though.

There was this one time that I was drinking a fanta at the convienience store, and I felt this incredible urge to make a fanta can on LBP, so i ran home and started making one but then I gave up.2010-09-05 03:00:00

I can never get to sleep if I'm thinking about LBP, so I have to think about adult situations.

I constantly link back to LBP when I see a nice colour scheme or graphic design.

This happened about a month ago.
I was finishing off my maths assignment for school but it ended up taking longer than expected so after almost 6 hours of working after school on it I decided I was done and wanted to go to sleep. It was almost 1:00am! I put all my sheets of paper in order and put them in my book, then in my brain dead sleep deprived state I spent a good 30 seconds frantically looking around my desk for a PS3 controller so I could press 'start' 'down' 'left' 'X' to save my work.

Still waiting to find out my results on that assignment too

Aw weh:

1. I went to New Orleans a while back and saw a skyscraper thing for the first time. Immediately i thought: ****, that broke the thermometer.

2. i was going to paint and I actually considered cutting up paper, painting the peices and then layering it instead of just painting the picture. lol

3. I cracked open a calculater, looked at everything and thought "I wonder if Upsilandre could do this.."

4. I was watching Full Metal Jacket for the 32nd time and told my friend "Those fools, that RPG won't break that stone wall!"
To which he responded "Dude.. are you high again?" :/

Well I found it a little scary

I would've looked like when a person is trying to find something when they're actually holding it in their own hand. Just kind of fumbling around not getting anywhere until the big "Ooooh" moment.

i think that everyone should know this by now, but if you dont.

i have always wanted to make a piece of fried chicken fly, and so on my very first day of lbp, i stuck a booster on the back of a piece of fried chickin, and made it fly.

best. day. ever.

When I'm writing stuff outside LBP I tend to avoid or censor words and "happened" and "computer". Waha it feels like a dirty word even now xD

Also, it's not too uncommon that I go "how the heck did they make that without getting too many corners?!" when I see complex buildings and such waha.

Great moments in life guys, makes me wanna cry with all this lbp related stuff O, I have another lbp moment for anyone reading this. It's election time in my country. Today I was going to school when we passed by a life-size picture of one of the candidates in cardboard. The first two words that came to my mind were "Cutout" and "Sackbot".
I also admit that I thought for less than a second what it would look like as a sackbot...
