well, I dont know if it's used in this videos, but by pressing R2 with the cursor on something, this something becomes transparent (create mode only) and you can add decorations and gadges to the object behind. By pressing R1 you can make the transparent opject visible again. And awesome animated materials are awesome^^ You can even tweak them (so the water falls faster for example^^) | 2010-08-30 07:44:00 Author: Spikeball ![]() Posts: 74 |
I'd reccomend re-naming the thread's title to something like "Animated Materials demostrations, or something like that, It'll be sure to call more attention! ![]() Nice vids m8, been wanting to see more about these animated materials. ![]() | 2010-08-30 08:45:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
Yeah some of the new special materials in lbp2 ![]() as you might of guessed ;P the 1st one is for people to make those outline / silhouette levels with ease. it is one of the new 'filter' materials, the following is taken from rtm223's info thread: ?Filter materials - can be placed in front of objects and everything behind them is filtered. ?Retro Neon Green outlines on black background. ?Grayscale. ?Pixelated. ?Possibly more to come. | 2010-08-30 09:38:00 Author: samalot ![]() Posts: 591 |

These were posted a week ago. Why didn't you bother looking for them before posting? Lock this thread. It's pointless A- I don't see a blue name above you, so I doubt you have a "lock this thread because I say so" choice, that's for the mods to decide. If you've seen a duplicate thread please just say so and/ or just report it, maybe the thread is contributing something new or its different to the other one.. B- If you're gonna say that then at least post a link to the thread the "original thread," otherwise your comment is invalid and/ or rather unecessary/ pointless. | 2010-08-30 18:23:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |

Here is the thread with these videos that you somehow missed... https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33793-Another-Evans-intervew-(Gamersyde)-collection-of-off-screen-gameplay-*UPDATED* | 2010-08-30 19:01:00 Author: Bluetoes1 ![]() Posts: 98 |

They are the exact same videos. There is no extra part in your videos as they are EXACTLY the same. Stop trying to avoid the fact that you made a mistake. A mistake that wasted people's time. | 2010-08-31 01:11:00 Author: Bluetoes1 ![]() Posts: 98 |
It didn't waste my time. In fact, had it not been for this thread, I would have never seen these videos. Funny, by continuously posting in this thread, you seem to be "wasting" more of your time. ![]() | 2010-08-31 02:12:00 Author: Frinklebumper ![]() Posts: 941 |

Well I hadn't seen the video before so thanks for showing it. I'm loving the animated materials already, can't wait to see them for real. BTW I don't know if it's been mentioneed already, apologies if it has, but the thing I'm most excited about is that it looks like we'll finally be able to change the colour of materials without using stickers. If so that's awesome and something we've been asking for in LBP for ages. It seems also that there are lots of colour options with regards to shades etc. so we should be able to make almost any colour we want with a sort of 'colour wheel' ! It looks that way to me anyway. Can anyone confirm that ? | 2010-08-31 11:39:00 Author: mistervista ![]() Posts: 2210 |

These were posted a week ago. Why didn't you bother looking for them before posting? Lock this thread. It's pointless The only pointless thing in this thread are your rude, tactless posts. Instead of being negative in every post try being nice and helpful. They are the exact same videos. There is no extra part in your videos as they are EXACTLY the same. Stop trying to avoid the fact that you made a mistake. A mistake that wasted people's time. If you are worried about wasted time than stop posting mean things, you will find much more time on your hands. [/argument] Well I hadn't seen the video before so thanks for showing it. Many more great features to look forward too! ![]() | 2010-08-31 18:26:00 Author: tanrockstan34 ![]() Posts: 1076 |
I think only materials like the vacuum material can change color, and the light material.![]() Ah that's disappointing. I was hoping we could colour change any material. Thanks anyway. | 2010-08-31 18:35:00 Author: mistervista ![]() Posts: 2210 |
Yeah, I hope we can have dynamic color sticker where we can choose the color though, that'd be amazing! | 2010-08-31 19:08:00 Author: tanrockstan34 ![]() Posts: 1076 |

It's okay, guys - just ignore bluetoes1 - He seems to be always like that... Anyways, i have seen the 1st one somewhere, but who cares BUT! i haven't seen the 2nd one, thanks! Exactly this! I think it's good when an important piece of information exists multiple times. The chance that 1 Thread gets buried in a forum are high... So don't be so picky about a second Thread >.> | 2010-08-31 19:31:00 Author: Spikeball ![]() Posts: 74 |
Exactly this! I think it's good when an important piece of information exists multiple times. The chance that 1 Thread gets buried in a forum are high... So don't be so picky about a second Thread >.> People try not to post duplicates of other posted items because it increases the chance of another thread getting buried. So, it is not necessarily a good thing to have multiple threads. On-Topic: I just watched it again and I fell in love with the water animations! ![]() | 2010-08-31 19:44:00 Author: tanrockstan34 ![]() Posts: 1076 |
I may be a bit harsh, but that's because the OP is a troll / spammer. | 2010-09-02 15:11:00 Author: Bluetoes1 ![]() Posts: 98 |
I may be a bit harsh, but that's because the OP is a troll / spammer. By not posting anything relevant to the thread, you're just spamming, being rude and trying to be a mod would mean you're trolling (in a way.) Please refrain from making pointless posts, If you have a problem with the thread and believe it to be duplicate, just report it, no need for yer spam. Now then stop trying to be a mod and report it if you feel it should and let it go, no need for those pointless posts of yours anymore. | 2010-09-04 01:49:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
Water material Mm's solution to having only global water. Hooray for me waterfall | 2010-09-04 02:17:00 Author: Maxi ![]() Posts: 1176 |
I hope you know it's just like any other material, just with the animation? [/bubble burst] | 2010-09-04 08:41:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Only thing I don't like is that the animated water-material has glass-properties... I don't want to slide on it -.- | 2010-09-04 12:41:00 Author: Spikeball ![]() Posts: 74 |

You can change that with one simple switch. ![]() Yes, I know this but I tried it on the gamescom-beta and it didn't work: if you attach that switch to a non-glass-material, the silkiness of the switch is 0% and you can make it 100% to let it act like glass - but if you attach the same switch to a glass-material, the silkiness still is 0% and you can only make it more slippery... Hope, they'll fix this... | 2010-09-04 13:09:00 Author: Spikeball ![]() Posts: 74 |
Animated Materials are great! Looks much better than the normal materials! ![]() Makio | 2010-09-04 13:12:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
I don't think you make it see through by pressing R2, the player there selects the see through material then fills the previous material with it. | 2010-09-06 23:29:00 Author: Captnmatt ![]() Posts: 96 |

Yeah...why believe one of the expert creators who had a full access to LBP2 and a day+ to vreate, and use most of those 24 hours to tinker with a ton of stuff and create a level in LBP2 along with a bunch of people at the Jam, right? I'm sure in your couple of minutes/ hours playing, you gained waaay more knowledge about all that stuff than him. ![]() | 2010-09-07 19:35:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |

It is absolutely NOT about knowing more or less! (And as far as I know the Gamescom-build was more up to date than the one at Game Jam) | 2010-09-07 20:11:00 Author: Spikeball ![]() Posts: 74 |
