Panda - MoniumChralex08
Help rescue a tortoise from the evil panda, Pandamonium.
Hello all,

This is my most recent level, I currently only have 2 published, I removed my older ones.

You start in a Jungle themed area next to a crying Tortoise on a rock, he tells you his sons been captured by evil Pandas so, predictably, you go looking for him.

It's platforming, the entire way through, but I tried to vary it and make it as interesting as possible, breaking up the flow with simple puzzles, races or driving a car built by a clever Salamander.

Unfortunately, the thermometer had it's evil way and I couldnt properly finish the level, and you don't see any pandas, which means.... sequal. You find out in this level that Pandamonium has taken over an abandoned military camp and you're heading there when your salamander friend takes an 'absurdly innapropriate' nap.

The theme, as I said is Jungle based, with some caves/volcano sort of thing half way through. The style is cartoony - ish, it's not supposed to look realistic but it is supposed to look good, there is some humor in the level I hope you will enjoy.

If you wish to play it, brilliant, put your thoughts here
If you wish to review it in the review section, you are more than welcome!

Thanks
-Alex.

Ah, what a cute and cartooney level!

While the stickering is done nicely and there's very little cardboard showing (electric eels being one exception), I still think the big blocks of green and sections of empty blue sky could use a bit more detail, clouds or something? Also, the current 2-way switch with the red snake does look out-of-place.

Also the green hi-jump grass and the volcano parts did look a bit messy due to the odd cardboard bits, try covering them out with a thin foremost layer perhaps? There were also a few more awkward seams.

While the characters were't too detailed, they fulfilled their meaning well, cartoonisticly and plain. Just make the tortoise-rocking piston invisible.

And though the gameplay wasn't an intuitive, never-done-before-experience, you kept it varied and did deliver it in a nice package. I loved the hungry crocodile puzzle.

Overall, it's :star: :star: :star: from me, but will easily go to :star: :star: :star: :star: if you fix the biggest visual issues.

Thanks, unfortunately the thermo will restrict me on how well I can touch it up...
I tried making all pistons invisible, obviously missed one!

But, I will of course try and 'pretty it up' as much as I can!

I played your level and heres my feedback

Positives:
+Platforming was very original
+Liked the cartoon look but could of done more with it
+Gameplay went pretty smooth

Negatives:
-Switch by 1st snake is pointless because you can just climb up the snake without using the switch.
-Water switch is visible by the bridge that snaps.
-Another key switch is showing near the hazard zone after the high jumps area.
- In the area after you go pass the grass that allow you to jump high, the ball thats behind the rock on the hill i moved it & when it fell down toward hazard area it disappeared so i had no way across & couldn't finish it..

Overall it looks good just need few touch-ups and scenary
The level was worth playing::star::star::star:

Thanks, I will hide those switches at some point, I am aware the snake is possible to climb without the switch but it is extremely difficult and far more time consuming than just pulling the switch.

As for the bit after the high jumping grass... I don't know which bit you're on about...

Having not played this level at all (it may be completely brilliant, I really don't know), it strikes me as strange that this level has the exact(?) same name as one of the levels included with the GOTY edition.

Admittedly, it's not overly surprising given how simple and obvious a pun it is, it just strikes me as odd.

Wow, it's not a copy, I had no idea at all :L
I've just always loved the pun...
If you played it you'd see it no where near matched MM in any way at all :L
As in, I'm sure theirs is far better. :L
