Emails from the Molecule: Help!
Archive: 28 posts
The advanced logic tools in LittleBigPlanet 2 enable you to build all sorts of funtionality. In big projects you can find yourself with endless microchips nested within each other. These can build up over time and get pretty insane - Looks like John got a bit stuck when he went to fix something in boss from LittleBigPlanet 2’s first Story Level theme. if only the sequencer had existed when this level was first made
From: John Subject: Help!! Date: 9 August 2010 18:23:55
Anyone want to help me debug my level lol

John - use the notes tool! [...] if only the sequencer had existed when this level was first made [...] Making a sequencer is already possible in LBP1 (I've made several). There's no reason a workaround couldn't have been found to make one. Although I must say that's some crazy-looking logic going on there! Can't wait to get my hands on that sequencer though. LBP2 is going to be epic. | 2010-08-27 14:20:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
I love that wires are color coded now! --- As for the problem... Yep. Looks to be a simple case of a conflicting input type. | 2010-08-27 14:21:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Wait, that was for the boss in the first story theme?! What is it, a fully functioning terminator or something? | 2010-08-27 14:29:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
It looks like the giant monkey boss that drops those plasma-fied balls in the adventure trailer. Am i correct? | 2010-08-27 14:50:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |
Mine gote, Media Molecule. It's frankenstein!! | 2010-08-27 15:03:00 Author: Richasackboy Posts: 619 |
Thank God for the notes tool and the sequencer. xD http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-08-27 15:14:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |

I think Johnee will need a looong holdiay around the end of November | 2010-08-27 15:35:00 Author: wexfordian Posts: 1904 |
Awwh... poor John. I see logic gates! | 2010-08-27 15:38:00 Author: Ryhas Posts: 179 |
I prefer not to try to understand all that stuf... Anyway, Time In Level... ? So... we can see how much time we've been spending on a level ? | 2010-08-27 15:44:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
I think Johnee will need a looong holdiay around the end of November He said John m8, I thinkyou're thinking of a different one. | 2010-08-27 16:07:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
"Notes" tool? Woah. Mind is blown. | 2010-08-27 16:10:00 Author: GreyMRP Posts: 588 |
He said John m8, I thinkyou're thinking of a different one. No, it is Johnee. | 2010-08-27 16:18:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |

Thing is, that's just a permanent switch. | 2010-08-27 17:03:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
I thought you can hide this stuff? | 2010-08-27 17:41:00 Author: Unknown User |
I thought you can hide this stuff? Ya, ask for how to solve a logic-related problem and hide all your logic in the image, that's suuure to help. | 2010-08-27 17:56:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
What are those blank squares, do they just take an input and give the same output? | 2010-08-27 18:02:00 Author: Zmathue Posts: 62 |
Johnee, I believe you've built a helicopter remote instead of boss logic. How could that happen? | 2010-08-27 18:03:00 Author: Jaeyden Posts: 564 |
Aaaaaaackkkkk...I think I will try and solve this when I have figured how to use the AND/OR switches. | 2010-08-27 18:22:00 Author: PygmyOwl Posts: 1316 |
Ok, iPhoto is officialy crap. I won't let me crop the photo without the photo dissapearing. -_- On the bottom of the circitboard that is in the middle the right-pinkish-thingy is the new gyroscope. (get the full size image an zoom in!) But I can't tell what the other two things are. EDIT: It not on a microchip - its on the wall in the center that is bolted. EDIT 2: Its actually on the base of the door-thing, still near the center of the photo though. EDIT 3: Microchips seem to look different, they look like black bars if i am correct...? O_o EDIT 4: Where that gyroscope is, the thing on the left edge of the door seems to be a sackboy/sensor switch, there is also another one pointing in the other direction under the boss. EDIT 5: The square thing in the middle of the other two things on the door might be the object leathalizer- it is also on the glass (soon to be plasma) globes that the boss attacks with. EDIT 6: I'm beginning to wonder why they don't just remake the level on the sequencer, lol. | 2010-08-27 18:23:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
The boss in the background looks awesome! =D http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/272671-Blackfalcon/671/5/animal0064hb2_display.gif | 2010-08-27 21:31:00 Author: Blackfalcon Posts: 409 |
So: Coloured wires. Notes. Thermo red again? And a lot of logic. | 2010-08-27 23:45:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
Hmm... "Work in Progress - bluray2_r45264 - STABLE". Looks like it's getting there. I've not seen a build that says "Stable" yet (except this one). | 2010-08-28 01:32:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
I wonder what this would look like if he tried to make the exact same thing in LBP1. Probably take up the entire thermometer. | 2010-08-28 03:08:00 Author: PPp_Killer Posts: 449 |
