Hi again dededeededeedede! Sorry to keep babbling here. I just wanted you to know that I updated the level today. No more auto dialoge, there's a silly clarification on who the player is, and I added a few awards at the end bit for people who like that kind of thing. I've set it up so that you get awarded depending on the amount of shots you've fired. So if you shoot less then 16 sacks for example, you get tier 2 prices

Would've added more prices for getting points/being fast, but the thermo is all used up and I am wayyy too lazy to emitt that section, heh.

Anyway, thanks again for the feedback. I will be sure to ask for another review if I get another level done!

Thanks for the review!

I'm really sorry about the bugs. And the length. Did your game crash? If so, I'm sorry about that too. Also, I'm sorry for saying this so late, but I wasn't able to access my computer for a while, so yeah.

That said, SackDroid - Part 2 will be a marvel of engineering that will be a perfect length with no bugs, and will knock everybody's socks off. I hope.

I would like to submit a review suggestion. I completed a level a while back and I would like some feedback before I publish my third in the series. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

Spent last week working on the website. Didn't get to making any changes to the site, but I got some descriptor graphics made. I suppose the rest of the changes will have to wait for the next Development Week.

In other news, I updated the queue, and will have two more reviews published by the weekend.

Stay tuned!

I hope it's not presumptuous to request a review now, especially since you already did one for me, but could you review this level?

PSN: Kalawishis
Level Name: The Happening World (Funny Film)

It's a movie, so rest assured it'll have no bugs!

Not a problem. If you don't have a request in the queue, you are free to make another one.

Which reminds me, I still need to write the request rules section. Fun times.

Hi all,

Apologies for the delay in reviews. I've been a bit busy getting prepared for this new job. I do plan on getting caught up real soon.

Yeah, I do plan on catching up (eventually). The new job has me kind of drained.

I'll update the queue right now, and let you know when your review is ready.

Update: The queue is all up to date

Hi all,

I just noticed the site was up again (and apologies for the double post).

Anyways, I was curious if anyone is still interested in level reviews. I've been out of the LBP loop for quite a while (due to work and such), and could use an excuse to play again. Let me know if there's still a demand for such a thing.

Otherwise, I suppose I could always work on that backlog

You've reviewed SackDroid - Part 1, haven't you? Then I'd appreciate it if you reviewed SackDroid - Part 2.

Keep in mind that the SackDroid levels only work in LBP 2.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay. I haven't forgotten about doing those reviews. I'll try to get those done this week.

As they say in FFXIV, "please look forward to it!"

Thank you very much for this review! In truth the level was intended to mostly be a gallery level akin to the History Pack and the Nightmare Before Christmas Pack. Incidentally though, there was a lot more gameplay planned before the Dynamic Thermometer glitched and I encountered problem after problem in level construction. (And ultimately deleted 90% of it.) So, I wholeheartedly agree with your statements completely about missed opportunities and lacking gameplay.

I'll keep the lighting in mind when next I build something. Also I very much agree with sentiments about the boss. The fight can be extraordinarily long, and I have been meaning to trim it down. Oh well! Lesson learned. XD

Thank you!

Thank you very much for this review! In truth the level was intended to mostly be a gallery level akin to the History Pack and the Nightmare Before Christmas Pack.

I understand that. However, those types of levels are littered with rewards and other fun collectibles. This adds an additional layer of challenge, and promotes exploration. However small the challenge may be, it gives the player something extra to pay attention to, besides just walking through the level. I'm not sure if the Nightmare Before Christmas level does this specifically, but there are also other incentives added to those levels as well. For example having a sticker at the end of the level that unlocks a Timed Trial run, which rewards the player based on their time. Obviously the player would have to play the level again to start this mode. This promotes multiple playthroughs.

The way your level is set up, once the player goes through it once, there's very little reason to go back. Just because these gallery type levels aren't traditional platformers, or have a plot, doesn't mean that there aren't some design choices implemented to make the experience more engaging and interactive than simply walking through. These design choices give the player a bit more out of the experience.

Just a few things to think about when moving forward on your next project.
