Help me decide on what PS3 I should get.

Ok, well you help me decide with some facts and answering the poll above on what I should get as a PS3.

I can either get a brand new PS3 80 Gig for 400 dollars, but then I would have to wait 2-3 weeks after LBP's release date to get it.

I can get a ( GameStop Refurbished ) 40 Gig PS3 for 350, and pre-order LBP right there at GameStop.

To tell you the truth dude it all depends on what your gonna use it for
If you mainly just use it for gaming then 40GB is more than enough and can hold all your demos, game saves and PSN games. Really i only see a problem if you were gonna Download loads of full games and movies on to your PS3
Plus you get to play LBP earlier

I'd go for 80 because my 60 is full after a year, and if you want it to last you you NEED alot of memory. Try getting an 80 gig lbp bundle, though, might end up cheaper.2008-10-21 23:41:00

Dude what the hell have you got on it. I was addicted to my 360 and got like every Arcade game that came out in the first year and shed loads of demos and stuff and never filled my 20GB HDD		2008-10-21 23:45:00

few games, a load of songs. Just deleted all my movies, but I had like, 11 episodes of movement xD		2008-10-22 00:04:00

See that was my point in my first post. It all depends on what you are gonna be using it for.
For just gaming i personally think it is enough. But if you want to whack loads of songs on it and movies then go for the biggest you can get.
It doesn't interest me in the slightest to put music and episodes on my PS3 as i can just play all my music on my stereo or PC and i either watch a series or film on DVD so for me 40 would be fine
But just to throw you off completely >>>> My 60GB is broke and in the next 2 weeks before LBP comes out for the UK i'm getting a new 80GB one lol		2008-10-22 00:13:00

Well yeah, but I only have 360 dollars on me, and my parents were really strict on "You can sell your xbox and buy a ps3, only if you pay for everything with your own money"

I can weedle in an extra 50 for an "early" birthday present, but 110 or so for a game as well would be out of the question, so I would have to wait until November 14 which is my birthday to get money for LBP.		2008-10-22 00:54:00

If you plan on using your PS3 for gaming over anything else, the 40gig is more than enough. I bought a 40gig and I haven't even filled it halfway, even after I loaded it with all my favorite stand-up comedy. Plus, you'll be getting LBP at release, which, in my opinion, is motivation enough.2008-10-22 01:40:00

really wow I have the 80gig and I've got like 10 cd's, the beta... boatloads of pics and some stuff I downloaded from the PSN... TV shows etc... and yeah I'm down to like 52gigs left...

but yeah Cartman's right the 40gig one would be fine for pure gaming and if necessary you can definitely store some movies TV shows etc... if you want but anyway, you can get LBP right at release with the 40gig one so I think if I had to choose it would be the 40 gig, but that's me it really is up to you! 		2008-10-22 01:55:00

60GB has worked out well fine for me

so go with 40GB

you just got to delete your demos no biggy they are always in PS3 store

Well, seems like the 40 GIG is starting to sound good, but don't forget it's GameStop Refurbished, anyone know if that is a good or bad thing?

And yes I have never ever put a song, a picture, or a video on my 360, and I plan to do the same with the PS3, I hardly ever play demos and when I do I delete them after I get bored.

Only thing holding me back from the 40 GIG is that it's refurbished, now if anyone can explain if this is a good or bad thing I think I can make up my mind.		2008-10-22 02:58:00

It is not bad if it is gamestop refurbished. It works the same as a new PS3 and I think they have a thing where you can exchange it if it doesn't work within a certain amount of time. I would go for the 80 gig though since it is 80 gigs more and only 50 more... and it is new.2008-10-22 03:01:00
