We're back!

Archive: 32 posts

We've successfully migrated hardware without any significant issues, so things are looking good. Our host is still working furiously to fix any remaining bugs or issues, so if you run into any abnormalities, be assured that they're working hard to get it squashed. We'll still keep the site open during that time to keep from holding you guys back any longer, but until we make an announcement to the contrary there are still issues floating around server-side.

Thanks again for bearing with us through all this!

The market is actually installed (and partially configured) right now, but due to the server issues I don't feel comfortable deploying it (or doing anything important today, for that matter). It is coming, it's just taking a bit longer due to the circumstances.

On a Sunday? Nobody wants to work on a Sunday. When beta codes go out, they'll go out on a weekday.

Lol, look what I found...

But, it says I don't have permission and it will for everyone until it's setup, I would imagine.

That sucks!!

well would you rather have it too soon and have it have a chance to glitch up, or have it a day later and not have any difficulties

One of the many reasons I haven't opened it up. Another is because the market product comes configured for another point system, so the point values for many of the products are completely wrong right now. Not to mention there are many features that need testing and categories that need sorting out. I don't feel comfortable doing all of that because if I run into a problem, there's no way I'd know if it's due to the product or the server problems we're having right now. It's much safer to give my host time to finish up on their end before I continue on mine.

Awesome! I can't wait until all the issues and everything are sorted out though, I don't mean for the market, although, I'm excited for that, I mean the whole site! I don't know if it's just me but everything is going EXTREMELY slow. 2010-08-22 18:54:00

Yesh, I couldn't survive! ... however.

Has the logo disappeared? Like on the Firefox tab, it used to have the smiling sackboy that means new posts in a forum... and now it's the blank page? Is this just me? :O

I haven't had that disappear - there's no reason for it to, really. The image resides in the exact same spot on the server, the server just happens to exist in a different location now. It's probably a caching issue - give it time, it'll fix itself. Have you tried any other browsers in the interim?

We'll announce when the host has finished their work on the server so everyone knows that things should be back to normal. Until we do, expect issues.

I tried to post in a group I'm in and nothing happened, so I hit reply again and it double posted. Also, Joey left me a a visitor's message and he double posted too. Thought it might be related to the update.2010-08-22 22:58:00

Sounds to me like a case of impatience. In all seriousness, if the page doesn't load right away, don't submit the form again - give it time to do its thing. Sometimes requests get hung up in the server for a bit and all you have to do is wait until the server chugs through them.

On the upside, the site seems to be faster now than it was earlier, so whatever it is they're doing is working.

Yeah I had a same problem except that I tried to post a reply in the newest community spotlight episode about 3 times but it failed and it ended up being triple posted later on[luckfully I deleted 2 of the replay copies before anyone reads it]. Thanks for the advice.

Hey, I also had a reply triple-posted (I quickly deleted 2), but I'm a 100% certain that I didn't hit the post button more than once. It still might be related to the site work, but I thought I'd let you know anyway.2010-08-23 16:12:00

Also, just saying that I think threads are counted as "new posts" when the last post is edited... happened twice, when rtm edited my post in Meet the Staff and now again when Omegaslayer edited his tread in Site Feedback... would chalk it up to just a server glitch, but it's kinda useful O_o

Also, speaking of which, when do you think Market's coming? Do you know of any new items that could potentially be there?
