Gravity's Rainbow levels in LBP

Archive: 18 posts

I am a huge Gravity's Rainbow fan and am looking for like-minded individuals to help produce levels based upon Pynchon's masterwork. My first idea is to have a level based upon the fight between Octopus Grigori and Slothrop (if fight could be the operative term). Obviously, I have not seen the level editor, A.I. routines, or creative assets, but I think we could start planning some stuff out.

There is so much stuff a group could do with this book, well all of Pynchon's books, and LBP. Let's get cracking...

...whats gravity rainbow...and...who?

Thomas Pynchon was an author and novelist. Wrote The Crying of Lot 49, V., Against the Day is his most recent. Never particularly liked his work. May give Gravity's Rainbow another try, though, just so I can help you out.

Haven't read gravity's rainbow. Looked into it as I'm a Klaxons fan. Hear it's an extremely conplex book. How well would that translate to LBP? It'd be kinda like making a Watchmen level. Actually, that might be a good idea.2008-08-03 11:06:00

Incorrect, graphic novel by Alan Moore.
Basically set the standard for 'superheroes as real people' that you see in every comic book adaptaion movie nowadays. Written in the 1980s.

Trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation here:

It looks amazing

Incorrect, comic. It was first released as a 12-part comic book series, then put into graphic novel format. I think it would work better and was probably made as a graphic novel, but it is technically a comic.

Splitting hairs, released as 12-part serial, but graphic novel sounds more proper, nothing 'comical' about it 2008-08-05 01:45:00
