The Pit [Survival]xsci55ors
Tired of the same old survival levels? Then hurl yourself into The Pit and flirt with fire! You won't make it out alive, but you could just gather up enough points to be immortalized on the high score board.

Hi, this was a laugh, made a change from all the long levels I have tested recently, for a quick bit of fun with

Looks great, sounds even better, great atmosphere overall, definitely a party game

Only minor grip was there wasn't much skill involved as you never know when you'll get squished/burned as there wasn't a chance to react, still great fun

5 stars and a <3

test my MGS when you get a chance https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33728-Metal-Gear-Solid-Boss-Truck-Adventure

Updated:

-Added pictures to first post.
-Made some visual changes to the level.
-Rewired everything. Game now begins automatically once all players are on the floor, as opposed to assuming all players are on the floor before someone hits grab switch.
-Changed timing on events so difficulty ramps up a little slower, which should make for more fun and some higher scores.
-Can now check high scores before starting level.

I think that's everything...

Also, I'm thinking of having a competition with player hearts as a reward for top scores. (I have nothing else to offer ) Let me know what you think!

Awesome I'll try it tonight. Sorry it's taken a while....been really busy.

Edit: I played it and here's what I thought.

This is a fun survival challenge. The challenge isn't too unique but still fun. The design of th level was pretty good plus I liked how you put instructions before starting. I also liked how this level wasn't too hard and yes, the fireballs come from random directions but since the platforms bounce you up pretty high and fast and the grabbable circles swing around pretty fast it's pretty easy to dodge them. Overall, pretty fun challenge. I gave it :star::star::star::star: Good job

I'm actually glad you didnt get around to playing it right off the bat, as it looks and functions a little better now. The fireballs are supposed to be kinda random--not something you can get timed out perfectly and exploit (though that would be hard to do anyway with all the bouncing, spinning, and earth-shaking that's going on). You've got to ninja your way to victory. Thanks for the nice review.

[Edit]
If anyone decides to try this, it would be best to search for my PSN ID (xsci55ors), rather than the level title.

Hey xsci55ors, I played your level and here's what I thought.
Visuals 4/5
Game play 4/5
Level Design/ layout 5/5
It's nice to finally play a good ol' fashioned survival level that doesn't involve bombs or all those stupid sharks. I feel that those bounce pads combined with those spinning wheels are really great because it keeps the player moving at all times tryin to get those stinkin' elusive bubbles!I also like the cinematics, is that a shaking camera? I played it a few times and I think I managed to get a pretty decent score The mechanics of the level as far as I can see are very well put together and I really can't say that they need to be changed or anything like that, but since all of that is so good I think you can work on the visual details ( I know it's nitpicking but I'm highly visual). Maybe put some rust formation on the walls or cracks in the bricks to push that mood even further...maybe add flickering lights too...(but thats a preference thing). All in all a quick, very well worth it, experience...5 starred and hearted..this needs more attention Great Job! Don't forget to play my level Graffiti Kingdom.

Thx The_Jump_Doctor. No, it's not a shaking camera--the whole level is on a wobble bolt attached to a rhythmic output device. And yeah, I intend to enhance the visuals a bit more and overhaul the scoreboard area. There are just so many wires and switches running through the main area that it gets a little difficult to decorate.2010-08-29 21:58:00
