Egypt: KarnakCerebroCide
My Egypt levels are more or less filled with puzzles. I have many decorations and items that give it quite a unique and at-home Egyptian feel to my level. For a real Egyptian experience, try it out. I will not disappoint. =]

I'm so glad you decided to post a thread about your level here. Funnily enough, earlier today I had actually put up a thread in the Recommendations forum telling people to play both your levels - here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33767-Egypt-Karnak-and-Egypt-Sacred-Lake-by-CerebroCide&p=586594#post586594). I included a couple of pictures and you might want to add some to your thread too as there are indeed some really great looking sections in the level.

I also mentioned that your level was recommended by ApeCheese on here too and by http://twitter.com/LBP_goodlvls.

Anyway, I rated both levels :star::star::star::star::star: and gave them each a <3. I had a blast playing them. The puzzles were cool and the visuals excellent.

hey, my friend Ape told me about this and how you made the levels so quickly. It's a fun level. Not too much on visuals and all but still some fun and I liked the water puzzles kind. Overall, I gave it :star::star::star::star: Good job!2010-08-21 22:32:00

Yay! I really hope your levels get the plays & hearts they deserve, they're just much too good to be sitting around collecting dust in Little Big Planet oblivion. I'm sure word of mouth will spread & they'll be getting a lot of attention soon. Meantime, keep up the great work, I can't wait to play your next level.2010-08-21 22:45:00

That was a fun level. The puzzles felt "magical" somehow, probably because of how you played with light effects in them. I also loved the effect of sand filling the room, it was cute
When you raised the water level, I didn't notice it at all, just kept swimming and suddenly realized the whole area was flooded. That's always appreciated.
I thought it was a bit short though, and some deadly obstacles or traps wouldn't have hurt.

:star::star::star::star::star:

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play the second part since I seem to suffer from some key bug that's been haunting me for months, levels never unlock for me for some reason.

Would you take a look at my level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33402-Evelyn)?

I've just played both of your Egypt levels, pretty amazing stuff!

I liked the various puzzles and the visuals in both of the levels. Even though the puzzles weren't particularly difficult to figure out, it's great how well they were integrated into the overall theme of the level. That bit where we walk on water has to be one of my favorite moments, I really didn't see that coming.

I've recorded videos for both of these levels:

Great stuff, gave both levels :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3.

Positives:
-The lighting going up the obelisk was pretty cool!
-I liked the way the sand filled the pit!

Suggestions:
-Maybe make the global lighting changes more gradual.
-I couldnt find a couple of switches because it was too dark! Maybe some strategic lighting could help.
-The level looked pretty cool. But there is definatley room for improvement. Maybe more selective used of the hiroglythic material to make it stand out more, I dont know, but it does look pretty great still
-Too short!!! But I see there is a sequel, so thats cool than!

Overall, a pretty nifty little level that looked pretty great.

4 :star:s, close to 5

Would you mind trying my F4F (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33317-The-Mystery-of-Mystery-Island&p=582899#post582899)?

Played this and the sequel.
The filling sand in the first, and the water bit on the second make them must plays. Simple but ingenious.
Had a replay of the second and found an alternate path/ending, good stuff.
I also liked the use of the zoomed in camera. It makes you appreciate how cute sackboy is. =) I must remember to use that.
I would suggest adding confirmation sound effects to the switches to give a hint to the player on what it changed in the level. (crash/shifting rock/water filling/etc)
EDIT: Understandable.
Oh, and I would also suggest to unlock the sequel. The key in the 1st one will still link to it.

4 stars for this one, 5 stars + heart for the sequel.
More please.

Haha. Thanks for the suggestions.
I am very glad you enjoyed it. And for the most part, I absolutely agree with your suggestions. I could have better used the global lighting to bring more of a subtle light to parts of the level, but I just didn't think it that important at the time. I look back and see it could have been better used.
I also apologize to any one that played any of my levels and felt it was too dark.
On my TV, it seemed bright enough, and I understand not everyone has the same TV/Brightness/etc. settings as I do. I feared both that it'd be too dark for some people, and too bright for others and it would throw the whole atmosphere out the window. My hands were quite tied. =./
I also feel the same about the Heiroglyphic stone material overuse, but nothing else had quite the 'feel' I wanted. It was quite short, simply because I ran out of ideas. I had my ideas all set out before I created the levels, and I assumed that the thermo. would be full, but I have a good 1/3rd left on it. lol
Overall, thank you for the feedback. I will see what I can do, if anything, to change the level and not try and fix anything that isn't broken.

Thank you!
I was really happy with the sand filling up the room and the water walking on Sacred Lake. I think it turned out great!
I thought about the confirmation sounds at switches and giving hints to the player on what changed/happened in the level, but I sorta disagreed with it. I wanted to give the player a bit of a mystery feel when playing the level. I thought that if I showed them what the switch did, all the time, it would get annoying and repetitive; I wanted to have more of a adventureous atmosphere, to get players to think 'Hmm, I guess I gotta go find out what happened.' and leave it to them as a surprise when they saw the water level changed, a door opened, etc.
Thanks again. It means a lot that you found it enjoyable. I aim to please.

Hmmm. Well, you pretty much made my day when I found this.
I don't think I can thank you enough for taking the time to make videos for both my levels. That was really above and beyond anything I ever expected. Thanks again!!!

I just played the level and heres the feedback:

Positives:
+Hidden passages were nicely done very unique
+Sand effect was pretty cool how you did that
+Gameplay went smooth
+Mummy was well done
+Music matched the theme of the level

Negatives:
-Didnt like the transfer from a temple into water then back to the temple because it was just perfect going through the temple as in and swimming isnt on my good side with level -_- sorry to say but it was still good though just think it should of stayed 100% temple..

Overall the level was very good::star::star::star::star:
