Can't edit my own objects

Archive: 7 posts

I created 2 objects on a friends ps3 and sent them to myself but I can't edit them. I even have an object I backed-up onto a 2nd profile(just aswell I did, because it corrupted on my 1st proflile http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/warlord_evil/grump.png) and sent to myself that I can't edit! Can someone please tell me how I can edit these objects?2010-08-21 08:41:00

They made it so you can't edit sent/ recieved objects anymore m8.
Make a level with the objects in them at your friend's house, back up the level and save it into any USB storage device (Flashdrive, MP3, etc, anything that can be connected bia USB cable and can save data.), and load it in your PS3, all should be editable.

Hope that helps!

They stopped you editing recieved objects with a PATCH!? I assumed that you always couldn't edit recieved objects, because it makes no sense .

That's an other reason to get a storage device.... I'll buy 1 and try that thanks . It won't work with the object I made and backed up though. I also need to edit some font's so I can create theck layer versions, so if anyone knows how I can make these objects editable, I'll appreciate it.

If you don't want to buy a storage device, you can publish the level locked and copyable from your friend's ps3, send yourself the key, and then, on your ps3, use the key to access the level and copy it to your hdd. Everything should be editable since it was never captured as an object.

It seems to me there's some kind of issue with keys being given. Like you can't delete them from your popit. I think you can get around that by capturing it as an object, but just in case, capture it along with a block of material or something so that it's definitely treated as an object. Or just plunk the key down in the level itself and have your friend invite you to the level when you play online with him, pick up the key, and then you can d/l it.

They were captured as objects and I don't think they're saved on a moon crater.

I've had the same problem at times. A way around it is to embed the object into another piece of material then delete it. You're left with a mold that you can then copy, place it over another block of material and hit delete. I've done this with some simple mm objects too. I'll show you the next time we're online if my post didn't make sense.2010-08-21 13:22:00

A better version of that thrick is to make a gigant thin square, copy, and paste in all layers (thick and thin) and place your abject in the middle, gives you a really precise shape, but this completly kills stickering/ bolting/ pistons, so if that;s why you want the object and not just the shape, then I'd reccomend other methods.

@clc:
Aye, you could edit any object before, it was patched because editing and copy-pasting the object would make the "created by" go to the person who edited it only. :/
