Ace levels with Sackbots???

Archive: 16 posts

i was thinking today if you play a level where you control a sackbot with a DCS and the sackbot dies over and over...

won't you still ace the level regardless, because only sackbot died not you the actual player...

or can the creator make it so that if the sackbot dies...its bye bye acing the level?

What do you think?

Well... you *could* make it so that when/if the Sackboy dies, so dies the controller...

Thought a straight link would be more "stylish".

You can have a sack-bot die, so don't worry about it.2010-08-21 22:26:00

I'm quite sure DCS sackbot deaths count as sackboy deaths
I mean you have seen how you can spawn sackbots already looking like whoever just entered the level...so I assume the same laws apply with that.

this is why sackbots are exactly like players. (with more options)

I don't know... I don't think it counts as a death unless you're connected to the sackbot (ie- you've directly placed the Controllinator on the sackbot).

If it's a remote thing... then I doubt it'll count as a death. Although... well, if the sackbot dies, what happens to you? Does it spawn a new one, or? *Brain fizzle*

Darn, now I'm confused.

If you watch that level they showed from gamescon with the caterpillar climbing the tree, you can see that, even though you are in a DCS, you can die and it counts as a player death. So it can be done...2010-08-22 15:15:00

Yes but however in the video sackperson was sitting
on top of it, so they died together, but if your far away
from what your controlling thats another story. *mew

Exactly. Of course, you could always spawn the infamous Gas Cloud over the player and kill him/her, but it really doesn't feel too "professional".2010-08-22 15:47:00

Imo, the player should still be able to ace the level, regardless of whether or not the sackbot they're controlling dies or not.2010-08-22 17:12:00

IMO, there should be a tweak about the acing if it matters anything.2010-08-23 12:55:00
