30 minute demo video w/ Alex Evans
Archive: 58 posts
I haven't actually watched this yet - just the first minute, but because it's 27 minutes long I figured better not to wait until it's over before I share it It's a video of Alex Evans talking about/demoing LittleBigPlanet. I'm going to guess it probably is mostly the same of what we've seen in the other videos so far, but like I said I haven't watched the whole thing yet so I don't know! Enjoy http://www.viddler.com/explore/oyungezer/videos/509/ (Hope I was right to make a new thread for this! Sorry mods if I'm causing you more pain xD) EDIT: okay, done watching it. It's mostly the same as other videos but in one nice long video. BUT at about 23:15 he goes to an incredible cutscene, followed by the beginning of the level with Robo-bunny gameplay! It's quite funny and fantastic! But most of all it gives a great idea of how powerful the cutscenes can be and the voice overs. | 2010-08-20 20:59:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |
27 minutes of greatness. Nice find. I may have seen these in smaller videos but it just never gets old. | 2010-08-20 21:22:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |
Whoa! Havent seen it all yet and not really talking about anything new so far. But it is a new vid and quenching my thirst for lbp2! So thanks! | 2010-08-20 21:25:00 Author: acdramon Posts: 332 |
23 minutes in -- OMG LOL the cutscenes are ADORABLE and AWESOME. It's really like making your own movies! | 2010-08-20 21:36:00 Author: jjmusicman Posts: 234 |
I really liked the animated textures for COSTUMES... lots of possibilities there! Thanks for posting, this makes me even more psyched for it | 2010-08-20 21:41:00 Author: psman012 Posts: 106 |
Pretty much everything we have already seen except for the last 5 minutes which are great. I love the health bar for the bunny. | 2010-08-20 21:45:00 Author: CYBERSNAKE Posts: 280 |

The only problem is I have no experience whatsoever with Piano Pitches. Better start learnin'. :SH: | 2010-08-20 22:12:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
That cutscene is amazing! The voice acting is brilliant also. EDIT: Do you guys think there will ONLY be voice acting in the cutscenes? | 2010-08-20 22:13:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |
That cutscene is amazing! The voice acting is brilliant also. EDIT: Do you guys think there will ONLY be voice acting in the cutscenes? I sure hope not, I have a lisp. :SH: | 2010-08-20 22:26:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
I sure hope not, I have a lisp. :SH: I mean in the story mode, for example there was voice acting in the short movie at the beginning of the avalonia level but after it went back to text again. | 2010-08-20 22:34:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |
I mean in the story mode, for example there was voice acting in the short movie at the beginning of the avalonia level but after it went back to text again. Oh. Nah, probably not. :SH: | 2010-08-20 22:35:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
Luckily I play guitar and know quite a bit about piano, drums, and bass, so hopefully I can adapt well to the music editor... | 2010-08-20 22:52:00 Author: psman012 Posts: 106 |
That was pretty darn brilliant. Aaarrgh I'm so hyped up now... The cutscenes are brilliant! I now know how I'm going to do the intro for 1984... And the Andrew Butcher trilogy... And all the other books I was going to make levels from. Now if only I could voice act... | 2010-08-20 23:30:00 Author: Keanster96 Posts: 1436 |
Those costumes look cool! | 2010-08-20 23:42:00 Author: Jedi_1993 Posts: 1518 |
Luckily I play guitar and know quite a bit about piano, drums, and bass, so hopefully I can adapt well to the music editor... I'm a fellow musician, I'll probably end up writing music that's too grand for the gameplay | 2010-08-20 23:49:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |

Maybe they just haven't recorded it yet and will before release? I hope so, voice acting would be cool when playing. Also, after watching the end of that video about 20 times I reeeally want to play that robobunny stage. | 2010-08-21 00:18:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |
Anyone else notice an altered version of this playing during the puzzle demo near the beginning? :arg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQObWW06VAM Edit: Noticeable at about 12:50. | 2010-08-21 00:59:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

How do you make the camera jump to different areas? Do you need the Sequencer to do that? :SH: | 2010-08-21 01:45:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |
How do you make the camera jump to different areas? Do you need the Sequencer to do that? :SH: You can link them together with wires Anyway, I haven't seen it yet. But I don't mind if it's all stuff I've seen before. Anything new is still awesome. | 2010-08-21 01:50:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Maybe they just haven't recorded it yet and will before release? Important cutscenes will have voice acting, and during gameplay, the game will use speech bubbles instead. | 2010-08-21 02:03:00 Author: Tyler Posts: 663 |
Wait, so the Cameras wont like, scroll to the next area, it'll just pop to it? And plus, it kinda bugs me that Larry has his 3D glasses on 24/7. I mean, he would look better without em. :SH: | 2010-08-21 02:18:00 Author: ThePineapplizer Posts: 769 |

I mean, he would look better without em. :SH: Hmmm there was a video where he did not have them on it confuses me, what one will they go with? unless hopefully they don't still go with the idea of making them like the yellow head costume and have it so you can use other costume pieces with them *mew | 2010-08-21 02:28:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
Cameras have tweakable transitions. They can fade, cut, dissolve, etc. | 2010-08-21 02:28:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Watched it now. I loved it. Seriously, any video with Alex Evans in it is an immediate hit | 2010-08-21 02:53:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
I really hope someone posts still frames from this one. It may have been things we've seen, but it wasn't edited to hide anything, it was all live. There are a ton of hidden gems whenever he pulls up the popit menu. The big thing for me was seeing all the options for "movers", even though I don't understand what all the symbols represent yet. | 2010-08-21 03:27:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Um hai yeaah erm..... anyone able to download it and cut out the bit with the cutscene? i really want it. (on my phone, that is) | 2010-08-21 03:57:00 Author: pilsburydoughboy55 Posts: 236 |

Very nice Video! Thanks for posting I LOVE the jumping bunny section! This probably have been stated somewhere else, but did people notice that the costumes of the sackbots in the sackbot puzzle around 11 minutes in were identical to the costumes of the players using the direct control seats? I for one was hoping this would be implemented, but didn't knew about it until watching this video just now | 2010-08-21 13:07:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
That cutscene is epic. It seems that the story at times will be funny. I loved that kind of mystical music that was playing with it. Nowz I go and explodez! | 2010-08-21 13:26:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
Thank you God! It seems my piano haven't been put to waste! Also I bet Fenderjt will rise to the occasion with some horror stories with music and fire!!! Imagine all the things we could be able to do on that game... | 2010-08-21 13:37:00 Author: NinjaLukeI Posts: 89 |
I haven't heard anyone say anything about this anywhere else but when they showed off the power gloves, I think one of them accidentally picked up the other. If so, SACKBOY TOWER! | 2010-08-21 14:22:00 Author: Figfewdisgewd Posts: 73 |
I haven't heard anyone say anything about this anywhere else but when they showed off the power gloves, I think one of them accidentally picked up the other. If so, SACKBOY TOWER!LOL ! A SackBoy/SackBot Tower would be awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and FUNNY ! | 2010-08-21 15:25:00 Author: SackBoy98 Posts: 588 |
has anyone else noticed a black object in front of victoria when its there she follows the player I think it's a graphical error on the creatinator when placed on sackbots.. Should be fixed before release. | 2010-08-21 16:07:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Anyone notice that in the scrolling catapillar level, the enemies are bugs controlled by sackbots! | 2010-08-21 18:06:00 Author: croissantbuncake Posts: 572 |

Woah, that cutscene was mind blowing! Machinima will be so much easier to make now! Will it even count as machinima? I guess it will, just with fewer out of game fiddling. (Gigidy). Anyone else recognise the voice of Dave Inchi and Dr Science? I'm sure they're fairly well known British comedians or something! Anyone know? It's killing my brain! | 2010-08-21 20:41:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
Looking forward to fluffy high tech theme... That was the theme that LBP was lacking! | 2010-08-21 20:45:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
That was really amazing! I'm really looking forward to playing with these tools. | 2010-08-21 23:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
do the icons on the sequencer and the cross bar effectively act as a magnetic key and switch in a way, but less limited and complex? honestly can't wait! | 2010-08-23 22:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
I love how the lighting bolts come of the screen when Avalon says: 'This is Avalon Certifigue to you!'. | 2010-09-17 14:13:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
I think someone said before that DaVinchi sort of sounded like John Cleese. Sounds about right-ish. | 2010-09-17 18:23:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

I really liked the video, but...did anyone notice that the thermometer jumped from 0 to like...50%+ when he put that sequencer into the level? I hope that doesn't cause too many issues.... | 2010-09-18 22:09:00 Author: mogwaimon Posts: 53 |
OH SNAP. lol that was awesome thanks for the link man | 2010-09-20 04:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
