30 minute demo video w/ Alex Evans

Archive: 58 posts

I haven't actually watched this yet - just the first minute, but because it's 27 minutes long I figured better not to wait until it's over before I share it

It's a video of Alex Evans talking about/demoing LittleBigPlanet. I'm going to guess it probably is mostly the same of what we've seen in the other videos so far, but like I said I haven't watched the whole thing yet so I don't know!

Enjoy http://www.viddler.com/explore/oyungezer/videos/509/

(Hope I was right to make a new thread for this! Sorry mods if I'm causing you more pain xD)

EDIT: okay, done watching it. It's mostly the same as other videos but in one nice long video. BUT at about 23:15 he goes to an incredible cutscene, followed by the beginning of the level with Robo-bunny gameplay! It's quite funny and fantastic! But most of all it gives a great idea of how powerful the cutscenes can be and the voice overs.

That cutscene is amazing! The voice acting is brilliant also.

EDIT: Do you guys think there will ONLY be voice acting in the cutscenes?

I mean in the story mode, for example there was voice acting in the short movie at the beginning of the avalonia level but after it went back to text again.

Luckily I play guitar and know quite a bit about piano, drums, and bass, so hopefully I can adapt well to the music editor...2010-08-20 22:52:00

That was pretty darn brilliant. Aaarrgh I'm so hyped up now... The cutscenes are brilliant! I now know how I'm going to do the intro for 1984... And the Andrew Butcher trilogy... And all the other books I was going to make levels from. Now if only I could voice act...2010-08-20 23:30:00

I'm a fellow musician, I'll probably end up writing music that's too grand for the gameplay

Maybe they just haven't recorded it yet and will before release?

I hope so, voice acting would be cool when playing. Also, after watching the end of that video about 20 times I reeeally want to play that robobunny stage.

Anyone else notice an altered version of this playing during the puzzle demo near the beginning? :arg:

How do you make the camera jump to different areas? Do you need the Sequencer to do that?

You can link them together with wires

Anyway, I haven't seen it yet. But I don't mind if it's all stuff I've seen before. Anything new is still awesome.

Important cutscenes will have voice acting, and during gameplay, the game will use speech bubbles instead.

Wait, so the Cameras wont like, scroll to the next area, it'll just pop to it?

And plus, it kinda bugs me that Larry has his 3D glasses on 24/7. I mean, he would look better without em.

Hmmm there was a video where he did not have them on
it confuses me, what one will they go with?
unless hopefully they don't still go with the idea of
making them like the yellow head costume
and have it so you can use other costume pieces
with them *mew

I really hope someone posts still frames from this one. It may have been things we've seen, but it wasn't edited to hide anything, it was all live. There are a ton of hidden gems whenever he pulls up the popit menu. The big thing for me was seeing all the options for "movers", even though I don't understand what all the symbols represent yet.2010-08-21 03:27:00

Very nice Video!
Thanks for posting

I LOVE the jumping bunny section!

This probably have been stated somewhere else, but did people notice that the costumes of the sackbots in the sackbot puzzle around 11 minutes in were identical to the costumes of the players using the direct control seats?

I for one was hoping this would be implemented, but didn't knew about it until watching this video just now

That cutscene is epic. It seems that the story at times will be funny. I loved that kind of mystical music that was playing with it.

Nowz I go and explodez!

I haven't heard anyone say anything about this anywhere else but when they showed off the power gloves, I think one of them accidentally picked up the other. If so, SACKBOY TOWER!2010-08-21 14:22:00

I think it's a graphical error on the creatinator when placed on sackbots.. Should be fixed before release.

Woah, that cutscene was mind blowing! Machinima will be so much easier to make now! Will it even count as machinima? I guess it will, just with fewer out of game fiddling. (Gigidy).

Anyone else recognise the voice of Dave Inchi and Dr Science? I'm sure they're fairly well known British comedians or something! Anyone know? It's killing my brain!

do the icons on the sequencer and the cross bar effectively act as a magnetic key and switch in a way, but less limited and complex?
honestly can't wait!
