A Shadow of a Forgotten PastFIRE-START/Ladylyn1 Deep in an abandoned cave lies evidence of a civilisation who lived thousands of years ago. Inspired by Lockstitch. I played this when it first came out. Has some nice platforming, puzzles and effects. The boss fight to me is the gem of this level. Don't want to give it away but be prepared . PS: I'm on to you!....I think... | 2010-08-20 19:26:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Hey thanks for ur feedback... I spoke at FIRE-START about your comment (he doesn't speak much)... couldn't really tell if he was pleased or not with his visor down. | 2010-08-20 21:54:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
Another one ! :hero: You leave me with no alternative... I regretfully find myself obligated to... play them tomorrow | 2010-08-20 23:14:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
I played this level and here's what I thought. I think you did a fantastic job with gameplay, I loved the emitting bridges. (It looked like it was being drawn ) I also loved hanging onto the two platforms going trough the level and I loved spinning around in the first one like I was going through a portal but maybe add a little there. The boss was great and a lot of fun. I thought the gameplay was great and I think you spent a good time using the materials and there were some parts that weren't that detailed but overall, it still looked good and I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 Great job, I'll definitely have to mention this on meh blog. | 2010-08-21 00:53:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
I cannot criticise this level, it was great oh ok, one thing, the ammo on the painterator, it was a little annoying that you had to refill so often and the boss's parts never disappeared when they had taken the correct amount of paint, it confused me for a moment and made things overly difficult I hearted it still though so you can tell I liked it | 2010-08-21 03:09:00 Author: beakeroo Posts: 27 |
oh ok, one thing, the ammo on the painterator, it was a little annoying that you had to refill so often and the boss's parts never disappeared when they had taken the correct amount of paint I don't remember having trouble withthe paint count issue but I did notice the limited paint and no offence but I remember playing logic island and the switch trigger trible with the limited paint against the boss but I actually liked it since it was a challenge to not just shoot but to get past obstacles to reload and use your paint wisely. It's the same in this one, only it's not as challenging since after a while you'll be able to know when to run past plus since it goes in a pattern of what side the stone hand comes from that even gives you a hint. edit: oh crap, why's it say I'm a sackgirl. /runs | 2010-08-21 04:10:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
Matter of taste I suppose, I'm good at shooting, I aced all the MGS stages and got all the trophies involving MGS as well but I just thought why so little ammo? Still great job. | 2010-08-21 04:50:00 Author: beakeroo Posts: 27 |
ooo i've gotta play this! I'll do it tomorrow. | 2010-08-21 06:29:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the boss fight: Wanted a bit of a challenge; so I didn't want the hand to die off cos then players would just stand under a dead hand and shoot the others. Also I didn't want players to just get infinite bullets and go to the centre column and shoot from there. Still, glad you enjoyed it... looks like its doing pretty well atm too | 2010-08-21 08:30:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |
The visuals The gameplay The puzzles The final boss Nothing more to say :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 Please f4f my ac2 level | 2010-08-21 16:10:00 Author: jrg_carrion94 Posts: 18 |
WOW. The use of emitters in this level are absolutely amazing! The environment is beautiful! The puzzles were fantastic and so were all to obstacles. The final boss swept me off of my feet. This is one of the greatest levels I have played in LBP. The way you used the 3d glitch at the end added a nice effect I thought. :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 I wish I could give it 6 stars. | 2010-08-21 19:24:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |

Hey just a question and might sound kinda dumb but is FIRE-START another account of yours or is it someone else but you posted the thread for it and maybe helped some. | 2010-08-22 17:02:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
I liked this one. Definetely saw the Locksticth influence with the moving platforms and windmill type bridges. The only fault I saw was the boss. It's pretty hard to not die there, I'd like it better if the fists that punch down at you stopped after you shoot them enough. Aside from that it was all very good. I'm pretty sure I've got the high score for now but if someone beats it I'll have to try again. Have a look at my new level Butterfly Boxes. I'd like to here your input on it as you're one of my favorite creators. Edit: Actually I change my mind about the boss. It was hard to beat without dying but a good challenge, I enjoyed it and it was pretty tense which is pretty rare in most other levels boss fights. | 2010-08-22 17:16:00 Author: MofoSuperVillain Posts: 88 |
Now that is an awesome level inspired by Lockstitch. The lighting looks neat and the gameplay really reminds me of "A Realm Forgotten" as the emitting obstacles are outstanding. The boss battle is outstanding too but there should be a 2 second warning that a fist on a ceiling strikes. Overall, it's as great as Lockstitch's levels and I definitely recommend this to fans of Lockstitch's levels. Man I wish you or Lockstitch could teach me those tricks but I'll figure them out myself. 5 :star:s and a <3. I already asked you to F4F "The Hero Chronicles LV6 Sky Metropolis" back in my feedback of "Firestarter" but could you also F4F either LV3, LV4, or LV5? | 2010-08-25 00:09:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |

Well done well done! This was a very well done level. When I played it I was just amazed by the platforming you didnt over use anything like alot of creators do so that got you 1 star then you had ok visuals so no star for that but the boss fight gave you 2 stars and I hearted it for the boss fight all and all an OK level! | 2010-08-25 20:43:00 Author: The master mind Posts: 37 |
Hey ladylyn, I just played your level and i must admit, it was very cool indeed. The platforning was really fun, how did you make those emmited blocks turn and everything? And it felt like I was exploring a real ruin, the atmosphere was top-notch. Maybe it was me, but the boss fight felt too easy, and too much like the cirque de la nuit one. Still pretty **** cool though, I was pretty scared. xD So all in all, this is a great level to add to your collection. If you have time, I'd appreciate if you could look at my new level 'The land of the Midnight Sun' for F4F. Thanks! | 2010-08-25 22:47:00 Author: AgentBanana Posts: 511 |
