Hello everyone! Welcome to the movie review thread! The thread you go to for advice before you make that big decision! I dont go to movies very much, but when I do the movie I go and see is usually some big budget one. This thread is your movie reccomendation source! NOTE: I dont see movies very often, so feel free to post your own review of a movie youve recently seen and Ill put it in the OP, along with your name as the reviewer! NEW REVIEW: Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: Rating: PG Approx. Length: Roughly 2 Hours Filled with funny humor and pokes at various videogames, Scott pilgrim is the ultamite movie for all you fans of the 8-bit era of videogames. Right off the bat, Scott Pilgrim was entertaining and fun for everyone who has been exposed to even the slightest bit of the videogame world, 8-bit chiptunes, (The universal studios tune was recreated in chiptune as well) and comic book style words such as "thownk" and "POW" are displayed smartly everytime a punch is thown or a sound effect is needed. Every fight also opens with a VS bar across the screen, and the seldom "K.O"! The basic premise of this movie is that Scott pilgrim, a 22 Year old boy who finds a girl, Ramona Flowers, who he really likes. He soon finds out that in orer to gain permission to date her, he must defeat all 7 of Ramona's ex-boyfriends AKA: "The League of Evil Exes" Which, Im pretty sure most of you know already. IMO, that is a very creative story. The movie starts out kind of slow, Scott playing songs with his band, "The *ex Bomb-ombs", However with lots of poke-humor as it leads up to the legendary fight scenes. This is where the movie really shines. Every punch thrown , every kick to the face, I felt as if I had front row seats to a real life streetfighter match! Every evil Ex had their own special power of sorts, such as fireballs, or a team of stunt double slaves. However, every match had a different style of fighting technique used by Scott such as a guitar battle, and a "Two Player" Battle. In which Scott gets help from his friends. All of the characters in the movie felt as if they were more than just a character, each with their own backstory and personality. All of the characters were very fleshed out and made the movie all the more better, as well as deepen the plot and make the rather simple story, all the more pleasing to listen to. The soundtrack was personally, my favourite soundtrack out of every movie Ive seen. A mix of rock and the seldom, quiet 8-bit chiptunes are balanced and make the movie all the more worth it to see. Overall Rating: :star::star::star::star::star: out of 5 stars MOVIE REVIEW: Despicable Me Rating: G Approx Length: 1 hour and 30 Minutes Despicable Me is a family friendly movie, filled with humorous and famous animations from Dreamworks Studios If you are over 12, You will probobly not be as interested in the movie as it is aimed for an audience of kids. However, the movie has something for everyone, Funny characters, cute animations, and a creative storyline are present in the blockbuster, and it's deffineatly something you would want to take your young cousin or neice to see. The Story goes like this: Kru is a failed,old Supervillan that is stuggling with doing something evil, but significant at the same time. His arch nemesis throughout the film is a fellow supervillan named "Vector" a nerdy young adult who commits the crime of the century; Stealing a Pyramid in egypt! Kru comes across three orphan girls, that he attempts to use to commit an even bigger crime- stealing the moon. The rest of the story might ruin the film, so Ill let you guys figure out what happens after that! The characters arent my favourite, and I felt that they just put the minions in for ratings, But that stuff makes little tykes tick, right? Despite the shortcomings of the characters, the story is just entertaining enough to mask them. A few funny moments will make the kids luagh, but there are very few funny moments for older audiences. Scott Pilgrim is 23. ._. Keep em coming! EDIT: Apparently SP is 22 in the movie, and 23 in the comic. You are right. I wonder why they changed it..?

Despicable Me A movie that most people are a little scetchy about seeing because of the title. The truth is that the movie is great for both kids and parents. I myself love all types of movies, but when I saw this one (in 2D) it was a movie I wanted to see again. It is a must have on the DVD/BlueRay list. The movie was funny and entertaining. The movie is about an evil scientist that wants to be better than every other evil scientist out there, so he adopts some kids for his evil scheme and ends up becoming more good than evil. In the end, good things happen, and some bad for others. Overall, the movie had a great plot, and a great lesson to be learned. The minions may seem a bit dumb, but their humor is understandable and hilarious! I would rate: A Great movie for a great year! (I am 16 and I enjoyed the movie just the same as my 6 and 12 year old brothers.)
