Thermometer Help

Hey guys I've just started my first level* but I've just realized that my thermometer is already halfway full . Is there anyway I could lower it without sacrificing my important game play sequences?
And while where on the subject could anyone give me some tips about thermometer efficiency?
And sorry if there already is a thread for this. The search results yielded nothing.


*(I've had LBP since November 2009 but I wanted to make sure my levels don't suck by learning a lot about techniques and level creation I've made maybe 11 levels but they always either sucked, corrupted, or were never completed. )*

You can do the Alismuffun technique, and change all of your materials to basic cardboard, or wood, then change them back to your materials of choice before publishing.2010-08-20 01:21:00

You could delete objects that have lots of corner editing and are small. That's what I did for my Patapon level. Or do what Velcro said.2010-08-20 02:10:00

You can do the Alismuffun technique, and change all of your materials to basic cardboard, or wood, then change them back to your materials of choice before publishing.

Changed by about half a notch. Helpful, but MOAR is needed.

Okie dokie(artichokie?)
-Reduce the amount of captured objects you use. Instead try create objects within the level and keep them "raw".
-Dont cram too much on one layer. Try space things out alot.
-Dont have too much logic in one area.
-Try simplify any logic gates you do have. eg. replace a perma switch that uses an emitter to one that use a reverse keyswitch and dissolvable material
-When the whole thermo is full and wont allow u to keep going, use the Alismuffin(thats me :O ) technique.

All objects are raw except LBPC sign
I just noticed that there's a lot in the back layer so I'm going to fix that
Logic has been simplflied and unessecary logic has been removed (time swiltch on sfx) Thermo at the moment is safe
