I laughed out loud at the sackbot getting shocked in the second video...Thought it was really clever! =D | 2010-08-19 15:53:00 Author: Smokeeye123 ![]() Posts: 66 |
Did you see the sackbot getting electrocuted? XD I was laughing on that part. Well now we know for sure that Infotain Me and Sprach Zarathrustra (is that how you spell it?????) will be in the game. Seems like sackboy does a little wave before he dives into the level linking badge. | 2010-08-19 15:54:00 Author: Amigps ![]() Posts: 564 |

Lol, at the part when sackboy was shocking the sackbot. I love how you can stop in the middle of a level and play the little arcades. Also, the music that someone posted on a thread somewhere around here fits perfectly in the game. I really liked Infotain Me. It gives off a mysterious vibe. God, this game is gonna be freakin' sweet. | 2010-08-19 16:06:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 ![]() Posts: 444 |

These videos are great, however, the moving caterpillar raised some questions... We have yet to see a top down view of a sackbot walking so I am wondering if we will be able to put a sackbot in it's native animation, topdown, and create a game around it? or are we forced to use DCS to attach sackboy/bots to a moving platform? For example, a top down adventure game similar to LoZ. Will it be possible with JUST a sackbot in it's native walking animation? Or will we be forced to use a sprite like the Rambo from "Oh Dayum, It's Rambo" or any other avatar for the sackbot? | 2010-08-19 16:47:00 Author: poorjack ![]() Posts: 1806 |
@poorjack I thought this was settled already. No, sackbots nor sackboys can walk in a top down perspective. You would have to use a sprite. | 2010-08-19 17:16:00 Author: Amigps ![]() Posts: 564 |
More Gameplay videos from Gamespot (with Alex Evans narration): Grapple Hook: http://gamescom.gamespot.com/video/6273980/ Creatinator: http://gamescom.gamespot.com/video/6273981/ Space Ship Level: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/littlebigplanet2/video/6273982/littlebigplanet-2-spaceship-demo The more I see Level Linkage, the more I hope they planned in some kind of save thing that is possible during the play. Who would be mad enough to create a two-three hour long combination of connected levels hoping that they would be completed in one sitting? I don't understand why the chat between characters is not voiced, they return back to magic mouths. I doubt there is so much text in this game that it all could not have been voiced. One other thing I am missing in this new videos is the new text option (subtitles), which I hope was not ditched, because it looked rather fancy. | 2010-08-19 17:19:00 Author: Stampy ![]() Posts: 86 |
I'm a little disappointed they changed the font, though... I like the Omnes font. It suits LBP1/2 perfectly. Hopefully the current font is just a placeholder. | 2010-08-19 17:49:00 Author: alexbull_uk ![]() Posts: 1287 |

I didn't see the chocolate waterfall either, and I watched all the videos... which one was it in? Whatever was going on, I just plain missed it. EDIT: Found it: http://gamescom.gamespot.com/video/6273981/ I don't know how I missed it. It's right THERE. But I truly, truly was totally focused on the icing blobs and the creatinator when I watched this before. Man that chocolate looks freaking delicious... Okay, so in the area with the arcade kiosks... the sackbot at the very end is mopping the floor. to do so, he's hold a mop. In his hands. Whaaaa?? What's going on here? Anyone know? Can you glue objects to sackbot parts? Or is this mop on its own movers that are synchronized with the sackbot motion? Am I TOTALLY out of the loop here? | 2010-08-20 02:47:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |

It's just a rod. I saw that in the adventure trailer I think. So no, I don't think you can glue or attach objects to sackbots. | 2010-08-20 02:59:00 Author: Amigps ![]() Posts: 564 |
Actually if you look closely it isn't a mop. It's just a rod. I saw that in the adventure trailer I think. So no, I don't think you can glue or attach objects to sackbots. That's fine with me if it's just a rod - you still get the idea that it's a mop. I don't see how the fact that it's a rod definitively decides that you can't glue or attach objects to sackbots. Whether there's a little extra piece on the bottom to make it more mop-like or whether it's merely a staff-like object, a single stiff piece of wood that one might refer to as a "rod" - it still appears to be held and moved around by the sackbot in question. what I'm thinking right now is that this is the first step in what is sure to be a long, long line of creators using movers to synchronize object movement with sackbot animation to create the illusion that the sackbot is interacting with something. Which is kind of a shame, if you ask me, I think if you could just glue stuff to the sackbots the possiblities would include much amazement. I can understand why they might avoid it altogether - with that much movement I can see things getting out of hand very quickly. | 2010-08-20 05:33:00 Author: Teebonesy ![]() Posts: 1937 |

Things i noticed: The sequencer has its own thermometer (its blue) and it seems to take up alot of space when you put a instrument on it. The switches (such as the sensor switch, key switch, etc) have been changed. You are able to control how many players are allowed to join and how long you can play for. | 2010-08-20 09:34:00 Author: CYBERSNAKE ![]() Posts: 280 |
