Children of the Echo (1 Player)angiefaramarzi
Due to the thermometer this level wasn't very long linear wise but the story will be told and finished in the upcoming sequels. (one player only)
Like most of my levels it's best if your volume is turned up as sound plays a big part in them all. In this short introduction level you will explore a visually stunning but small portion of the Forest of Echo. The storyline isn't very well presented in this level but will be in the next in the series. Some parts take patience as some people said it was vry difficult while others said it was easy. F4F, and try to rate it 3 stars or better to get it started. But still if you hated it please let me know, i love criticism. thanks

Do it by taking pictures of it on your camera or on lbp then export it to HDD and if you gotta memory stick(flash drive) copy it onto that then put it on here....also I wouldnt add the other part to the title..I'll check this out and come back with feed

I've uploaded without a memory stick. Go to the browser in the PS3 and mail them to yourself, then hop on your computer, put them in your pics, from there to a photo storage site like photobucket, and link to here. Takes a bit, but it works!

I'll put this one on my list. Won't be able to play til much later in the day after work though.

Hi there,
I wanted to try your level sooner but the LBP PS3 server was down today but now it works so here we go :

The good :
- Very well designed atmosphere (the insects, the lights, the camera effects)
- Very well designed backgrounds too (the jungle, the bones, the waterfall)
- The four winds quest
- The speaking dinosaure

The less good
- A quite short level (but the thermo issues explain it I guess)
- Some parts are lagging (again the Thermo)
- Sometimes it's not easy to know where to go between the three layers but it's ok as the level is short
- Why a horizontal invisible wall under the water near the south wind candle ?

Anyway it's a very pleasant and beautiful level and you deserve :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

My F4F level is below thanks to try it if you can

That was a very beautiful, bright and colorful forest, with great use of lighting, stickers and sounds everywhere.
I can see people getting lost in it though. I got to the talking monster thing merely by chance, walking behind some tree to fall into the water. Maybe you could highlight the way somehow.
There's not much more to comment on since it's mostly a visual level and as you said, it's pretty short. I'll keep an eye out for the next level in the series.

Please check out my level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33402-Evelyn).

Hey. Sorry I didnt play the level earlier, server down and all.

Wow, a lot of really nice visual elements. I'll provide a bit of a running commentary as I play. Im getting a bit of slowdown with all the all the lights (changing them to foggy rather than shadow might help this, but wont look as cool) . and the camera seems to want to change angles a lot unnecessarily. Like if you run against a wall youll suddenly be out of its zone and it will swing outwards, even though you cant get anywhere that way. When you are down near the water, its hard to tell where to go. You might want to make it more obvious that you can get up on that root/branch. I like how the the lighting changes to make it seems like you are going in and out of dense canopy. and the glowing root orb thingos look so pretty!! Cool skeltons too, they are well intergrated into the level, they look like theyve been there a long time!! Oh, and now Im stuck doing the splits and sackboy want move!!! Ok, so I got stuck and ended up progressing by pure luck. Just where the skeleton head is and you jump down into the water. I'd suggest making it so you can just be walking a long that tree branch and suddenly a small section breaks and you fall down into it, just so its not so much trial and error. One of the best water falls Ive seen!!! You spelt "within" wrong Maybe that monster could have explained what I need to do, because Im stuck again!!!!!
Oh you go back to the left and up. When you are going up, you get caught in the camera zone of where you were before and it makes it look a bit disjointed. Maybe you could deactivate that camera once you do the swimming part.

That was a seriously nice looking level. GOod job. Apart from me getting lost a lot, it was very good. Im not sure how, but you need to implement ways to make it easier to tell where to go. Dont make it overly obvious, just easier.

OK, here we go!

Right off the bat... Beautiful scenery! And I love the moving bugs!

I love your creatures and level design! Lush and striking!

Maybe a bit too lush... I'd hate to take anything away from this work of art, but sometimes it's very difficult to tell which layer you put the actual path on. Got lost a lot.

Following the path to the different totems should be made a tiny bit more clear, although it's hard to mind getting lost in a place so beautiful... Here's what I'd suggest: Strategically placed spotlights in two colors... one for warmer, one for colder, with the warmer ones lighting by proxy switches that could be hidden along the correct path, and the colder ones when you're going the wrong way. Make them subtle, and each warmer one pointing the way to the next. Sounds like a lot of work, but I think it would be a big help without detracting from the look of the level. Just a suggestion.

Again, the beauty of this level is the star though, and I don't think anybody should miss out on these astounding visuals just because it's a little tough to find your way. It was a pleasure finding my own way, so then again, there's an argument for leaving it as it is. The choice is, of course, all yours.
:star::star::star::star::star: and a <3.

edit: I almost forgot! F4F on Invasion of the Sack Men From Space!

Thanks everyone, the difficulty in finding the totems was suppose to lengthin the level. If i make it easier the level will be too short i think. Im returning all feedback now. AAlso I updated it and the ending looks alot better and I upgraded the dinosaur into the backgroundd and it looks really good now!! D2010-08-20 22:38:00

Yay, finally got to play it.
I swear it was in the back of my mind since I saw that pic from the spotlight. Glad you put it back up.

I don't mind a bit of exploring. Like you said, it benefits the length for the level. It's nice to have a change from the 99% of linear stuff.
There were a few very minor issues, like the occasional annoying layer switch (that shell in the back layer around the middle of the level), typo (on dinosaur), few seconds of lag in one small section, had to pop myself once, etc.
But man it's well worth playing.
I think the difficulty of the layer switching is ok in this situation. It's a tough call, but props for sticking to your guns. It adds to the level, makes it feel like a jungle you can get lost in. Which once again helps the level's length also.
The creatures are way cool. My favourite being that secret/hidden water one. Plus what we see of the dinosaur is great.
One of the elements I was most impressed with was those glowing pods with the vines wrapped around them. I'm surprised no one has commented on them yet. You managed to get such a 3D look with them!
Usually I don't like visual levels, but yours had enough cool stuff to win me over.
5 stars + level heart + creator heart = trifecta!
You should republish your other levels too. If they are half as good as this, I'll play em. Or perhaps you are working on a sequel?
EDIT: Ah! You are the one who made that Dunes of Time level too. Forgot to leave feedback on that one I think.
These non linear levels definitely make an impact compared to countless other linear levels. It's a shame they don't do as well stat wise in LBP. I'm glad other people have the guts to make them.

The LBPC level spotlight!
Your level was spotlighted a few episodes back (#46) (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=33872-Community-Spotlight-Episode-46&highlight=children+echo), as I hardly ever play levels without pics.

Finally this level has been seen. I've been waiting to check this out since it has been spotlighted. The visuals of this is extremely good and it somehow reminds me of "Avatar" as I can tell where do you get the visuals from. The exploration to search for the 4 torches are really good too and there's a lot to be seen like an ancient fish. Overall, this is a visual masterpiece. 5 stars and a heart.

F4F any one of my levels if you like.
