Bad News for me

Archive: 26 posts

My PS3 just got the YLOD right after making an amazing LBP level.
It was an original Arcade machine that u drive and stuff but then my PS3 turned off..
I went from a (: to a D:< in seconds.
Tried to turn it on and... Yellow light.
I began to laugh because I thought it was funny that it breaks right when I am about to finish the level..
If you dont see me on PSN anymore you now know why.

RIP 3 year old 80gig Phat PS3

no signals of death before it happened? if so, you should've switched to a slim...like I did.
my fat 60GB ps3 was acting too strange, too many freezes etc...so I got a slim aznd gave the fat one to my brother.

day after that I hear my brother saying the fat one died on him already.

It worked perfectly the entire time, it was just random and out of nowhere.2010-08-18 20:18:00

Yeah, my 60G had a lot of freezes too. Well so does my current PS3 slim, but it's almost 90% the connections fault.

A PS3 is never useless, just turn it into something else, a paperweight, a vase, or a grill. (http://www.2dayblog.com/images/2006_november/ps3grill.jpg)

I mean, it only does EVERYTHING.

or open it and look how it's built, it's pretty awesome to see it on the inside.

or try fixing it yourself

Yeah, there are a few at home YLOD repairs that you can do, apparently some of them actually work for a little while. Might buy you enough time to get your saves off.

Nothing beats RROD fixes,
Whats better to do while waiting for your xbox360 repair box to be able to play it while you wait

All you need is a couple towels,
Wrap your xbox360 in a couple towel layers, Cover all sides of it! Now turn your xbox on and let it sit for 15 minutes. Turn it off and unwrap it. Your xbox should now be hot to the touch.
Let it cool down for 10 minutes,
Your xbox should now work when turned on! This will fix it for a couple days, and then when it Blinks the RROD again repeat all the steps!

You can do this to the point where your video chip melts! At one point you turn on your xbox and the screen is a sickish orange-purple color, turn it off and turn it on and it should give you the RROD permanatly!

Hey all of that is what i did when i waited for microsoft to send my shipping box

Nah, Xbox online is a lot better, less laggy chat, cross game chat for up to 8 people, anyway both systems are equal, dont wanna derail this thread :kz:

Aw, man, that's terrible! I don't know what I'll do if that ever happens to me. I can't afford to replace it any time soon. *knocks on wood*2010-08-18 21:34:00

but OP, really, try fixing it yourself. it's really easy and as microchirp said, it'll allow you to quickly gather your savedata.

Yeah, well... Hopefully you don't have to replace it completely :. I think if all else fails you can pay $150 and Sony will either repair it (I think they'll only do slims now), or give you a slim. It's still a fair chunk of money, but you would be spending $300 to replace it otherwise.
