Well, looks like Ratchet and Clank are moving on to something new. Not to mention a new look for Ratchet that I have mixed feelings about. The title of the video below gives you a hint on what kind of gameplay you will be dealing with this time in the Ratchet and Clank series. Let's hope this won't be a flop like Crash and Spyro. I'd hate to see a perfectly good video game hero go down the tubes. I'd still get the game either way just to see what it is like. That graphics look better that the last game!! And It looks fun overall but I Dont like Ratchets new look at all!!! What happened, did his head get squished in a car accident or something!? And clank is waaaay to big!! I mean, I know you have to control him but its too unrealistic, on game he is smaller that the over (It doesn't make sense)

Clank isnt fitting on Ratchet's back anytime soon. And Ratchet's head was flattened just a bit too much. The designs from ACiT were the best, IMHO. Should of stuck with those. :SH:

Crash didn't flop IMO, if you actually give the new games time there pretty fun, i have been playing Mind Over Mutant, its pretty fun, and i bet Crash of the titans is fun too :o Anyway i have a feeling this will turn into a PSN game :o

Looks cool, but not really as epic as the future saga. Multiplayer is something I've wanted in the R&C games so that is awesome... but that doesn't really convince me... The redesigns of the characters looked like they were going a bit back to the PS2 style... meh I probably won't buy this at launch, let's see what people think about it.

Well I'm really looking forward to see how this game will turn out. I'm happy that they are moving onto something new but I hope they don't stray too far from the original gameplay. I think the ratchet re-design is pretty good, the new face makes him more likeable, not that I disliked the character before though. I might have preferred it to be just like the current games but with competitive online multiplayer however, I'm not sure.

You may find this helpful: About Ratchet & Clank visual style (from Insomniac): Hey guys...to answer your question about the different style... With the addition of everyone playing on one screen...some characters were a little harder to distinguish than others, for example, Clank was too tiny on the screen, Nefarious too thin. Our character artist over in NC spent a considerable amount of time tweaking each character to look different while still keeping the group look harmonious. Apparently, it takes place in the PS2 R&C universe. And it hasn't got the "Future" title so it's most likely a spin-off. Either way, I think it looks epic. Finally, a multiplayer R&C! I don't see why people are moaning! It looks brilliant!

OH MY GOSH!!!................ IDK about you guys but they made a mistake on this. R&C is my Fav game series but this looks WAY too...... idk it just looks bad... well it will probably be a good game since insomniac made it but...... i really wish they just stuk with the original gameplay......

You may be on to something, Jedi. I wish they would make a Ratchet: Deadlock type game with online co-op for the PS3. I really enjoyed Deadlock on the PS2 so it'd be awesome if they made something like that for this console too.

Check the vid below. Back then there was online but many people didn't have the means to get on because of ethernet. I see a lot of people moaning about this game, but to me it looks awesome. I'm a fanboy teen, I don't want Ratchet and Clank to end. And I will buy it, regardless of what the critics say. I want it to stay alive, and making it a co-op game is doing just that, with all of the hilarious charm of the series it's hard to see where this game faults. And you can play as Captain Quark. Is that not enough?

Well I cannot wait. My brother and I loved the co-op on Deadlocked/Gladiator. Co-op games are terrific. e.g. LBP (duh!) As much as it pains me to say this: I found ACiT a great game but, as Talbot said, the same game as many times before. I am glad that Insomniac are trying different things rather than selling the rights to a superb franchise to a mediocre company who would try and continue the story only to fail in capturing the original's brilliance. Then they sell it to another company who 're-imagines' the series with a darker style only to have changed too much of the original source material. Seems like they learnt from Spyro!

I have read somewhere recently that the game takes place only on one planet so I'm expecting it to be a nice little trial, much like quest for booty (call me mad, that was easily my favourite in the series...man it had everything, except side quests of course....*drools*). I expect insomniac want to see the reception from the communtiy before making a full on game based off of this concept.

And because of the failures that were COTT and MOM the company that was developing them kind of...died. Forever. /plays some Crash Bandicoot

Don't ya think adding more characters to the 4 would be cool. Have Quark, Ratchet, Clank and Nefarious for story mode, then have multiple characters for online or a "challenge mode" Al the Roboshack owner, Helga the trainer, the Plumber, etc Ratchet and Clank have a huge wealth of memorable characters. It would be a real waste for them not to be included. I hope they realise this. Imagine a challenge mode full of scenarios. For example, Nefarious and Lawerence escaping some prison or Quark and Skrunch (the monkey) in the wild (Ratchet 3) And what about hoverboard races! I guess I'm really excited but most of this stuff probably won't make it into the game. Uhhh...

Co-op seems like the natural fit for the series. They call it Ratchet and Clank but you mostly just play as Ratchet, and Clank pops out a helicopter blade when you jump. I'm really looking forward to this game, and I'm sure there will still be an awesome storyline to go along with it like the other games in the series.
