New release date from SCEE

| SCEE has just sent us this statement on the new release date for LittleBigPlanet: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is pleased to confirm that LittleBigPlanet will start to appear in stores no later than the week commencing Monday 3rd November in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, on a country by country basis. | It means that the whole PAL region should have the game released on the 9th of November (Sunday of that week) the latest. But it could be released earlier, even next week if they're able to get enough copies out. In the US LittleBigPlanet will begin shipping the week of October 27th and so depending how close your nearest shop is to the trucks you may have your hands on a copy that very day. | i've had games off play early loads of times. Even had them on a friday when it's ment to be on a monday. But miff man. Sorry to put a downer on it but i just think the people you have spoken to at play just don't know what they're talking about and they won't be distributing them till everyone else can. The half-term would start on the original release date, meaning that for a week and a bit my sleepless nights from LBP would not affect my school work. I didnt mind the 31st really either; that gave me a good weekend to get started. But now the week commencing 3rd (which just happens to coincide with the start of term) just takes the biscuit. | i got my local game store to break the street date for cod4 by 3 days lol. I was in the beta for it and was gaging for it so i phoned them and said blockbusters and tesco's just started selling it (even though they didn't lol) and i had preordered it from game and said if they wasn't prepared to sell it to me right now, me and a load of friends were gonna cancell our pre orders lol so he said come now and we'll sell it to you. Bottom line is they shouldn't send out anything other than the new copies. And, I'm pretty sure that they'll be receiving stock soon (being one of the biggest game retailers for the UK, I'm almost certain they'll get a lot of copies early on..) | Meh, to be honest, I'm more pumped for Far Cry 2. Sony has let me down way too many times. Its ridiculous. If the USA gets it on the 27th why can't the UK? Even the rest of the EU gets it before us for some reason. Its like we always seem to get the worst deal with everything. I think I'm going to get Far Cry 2 on Friday (when LBP was supposed to come out), and wait until my birthday (December 16th) to get LittleBigPlanet. I like the spacesuit and top, but I am not as excited as I was when I thought it was coming out in time for me to have a week and a bit playing it. | Look, the date is going to be whatever it is going to be. Looking at dates set up by stores is pointless. They're not the ones who know when the game is going out, they're currently just as much at loss as we are, perhaps even more so. If some random e-mail says this date and another site says 2 days earlier, it doesn't mean that the second shop is any better or is going to get the game earlier on shelves. They're all just guessing. So please, stop running around looking at gazillions of sites for release dates. LBP will be out in a few weeks.
