Story mode swears!

Archive: 23 posts

I thought this was a rated E game.

Head over to story mode and got to the level Frying Saucers. The level description says: Face the big alien boss, and kick his big alien A word.

Instead of "A word", they have the actual word.

Now why is it a rated E game?

Cambridge probably expected kids wouldn't check the description. But hey, if they're allowed to use that word, then we should also!...Well, not really. Makes you wonder how that "A" word got accepted into the description.

This is true. If they say fart, it's rated E 10+ (in america)

It might be just one word. But when a random kid reads it to their mom, it will be more than just one word.

E rated games are allowed to have infrequent mild language.

Look at the story mode from the PS3 version. Look at the very beginning of The Canyons. Notice something? That's been there and I'm pretty sure it's something the ESRB noticed and let slip by.

@Arkei
In one of the in-game videos, he tells us that they don't like fowl language in little big planet, yet they use some. Duh!!!

I think you stumbled into the PSP section :O
Hmm, kids are bound to see that "A" word in the game, but they have a greater chance of hearing the "B" word on television, since I believe we're allowed to say that now.
Well, I could imagine kids through the ages of 5-7 (not likely) playing the game, and not know what the "A" word is or means.
If you imagine kids through the ages of 8-10, playing the game, and they see the "A" word, they'll laugh and know to keep it a secret from their parents.

(Referring to when Fastbro says "Hasn't this been brought up before?")
Yes It has been brought up before, it was a topic titled "Frying Saucers" I made that topic.
Yeah, when I noticed that the description contained that word, I laughed. But still a little shocked how Sony Cambridge included that in there.

Hey, Arkei, I'm not sure I noticed (or I've forgotten) what You're talking about. Can You tell us specifically what the ESRB noticed and let slip by?

You can't say 'legs'. That is infinitely more ridiculous than any other banned word I've heard so far.2010-08-25 22:06:00

Maybe the alien is part donkey and they didn't mean to be rude at all?
