What do you guys think about H4H? No one will judge you on what you pick...maybe me a bit NOTE: Im not asking for H4hs and if its bad to ask about it, please lock this mods

Sorry to say it this way, but that's kind of a strange question to ask here at LBPC. We totally frown on H4H and therefore it really isn't a question to ask. In fact I think it tells you that in the sign up sheet. Here at LBPC, we pride ourselves on earning our hearts. There are some of the most gifted, talented and unique creators in all of LBP roaming around this site, so asking that is kinda like asking if we would all rather be playing some other game. We love creating in LBP and the joy of sharing that with our friends and improving ourselves with every level is such a joy that no amount of hearts could ever take its place. All the best!

In my opinion I think H4H is a way of cheating. And it makes me sick that people feel that they can overrun the system by just creating a blank level and asking people to heart them, when we are all creating incredible levels and in my case not getting noticed it's just not right.

I understand what hes saying. hes not asking for hearts, hes asking us how much we hate H4H... which is a lot. ALOT! Trophies have ruined video games. they are nothing but something shiny for the mindless masses to hoard. i would rather have NO trophies at all than have ONE trophy from H4H. trophies make games about numbers not about fun. goodbye.

I don't see the problem with H4H, at first, I didn't like it because I was just trying to be like everyone here. But really, all it gets you is a trophy that only your friends can see, and they really know if you're a good creator or not, they don't need to see if you have a trophy. Sure, some may use H4H to gain hearts on there creator profile and levels, but I, and I don't think others, seldom look at how many hearts there are in the first place on a profile. Hearts are no way to show how good a creator is. So...H4H, I don't use it, and it is a bit annoying, and becomes very irritating when it is spammed.

My thoughts on H4H are this: I do not ask for H4H because it is against my nature to do so. I like earning my reward instead of finding an easy route. However, I do not see it as much of a problem either. Why? Well, some people play LBP for the trophies. (That is fine.) And others spend lots of time trying to make great levels for an awesome community! (Like LBPC) Honestly, I do not get too annoyed with people asking H4H. I kindly tell them no thanks and I keep on playing LBP the way I want to. Now when people start deliberately spamming your message box and level comments with H4H, that is wrong. (But that's a whole other story.)

H4H has also invaded other games. The other day I was playing ModNation Racers, and some guy had typed into the chat-box (?) he's offering D4Ds (download for download). Can you believe it? Absolutely despicable. ----------------------------------

I understand h4h in it's principal, some people don't have enough time to make a great level. They love the game, and they love messing around in the creator, "Workshopping" and such, and they love playing the levels. They aren't going to get that trophy playing the way they want to. Some people are fine with that, I'm sure. But the point of trophies are that they reward the player. People like them, because they like to feel like they accomplished something. Now you might be thinking, but Enjay, they didn't accomplish anything, they cheated! Yes, they did. They found a part of the game, they didn't like. They chose not to play it. They can now never get the "ultimate accomplishment" of a platinum trophy. The metagames are part of the game, and I say, if they beat the game, they deserve to have the option to beat the metagame as well. It's about having fun, not forcing people to make great levels if they don't want to. I say, just let them have fun in their own way. I, however, love creating, and playing, so I look forward to earning all of the trophies the "fair" way, so I can feel SUPER PROUD of myself when someday I have that platinum trophy.

No, I think you're wrong Enjay. trophies are just that - a reward for a certain behaviour. ie: You killed 10,000 enemies - Congratulations - you get a reward. People looking at your profile (it's not always just friends that do this... you might be comparing stats of a particular nemesis or forum troll etc) can then see that you've put the hours in. Now, the "Create Reward" is a gold trophy. The criterea for unlocking it is 30 hearts as a creator and 50 hearts on your level. Now it was set as such in order to get you to engage with the community (like any multiplayer trophy). Due to H4Hers, it has actually devalued this trophy - as looking at someones LBP trophies you won't be able to tell (without knowing them) - wether they are an awesome creator who actually deserved the trophy - or wether they are a duchebag level spamming trophy whore who cluttered up Little Big Planet with their begging level - rather than get the trophy based on their own merits.. Every H4Her is like a drunken tramp begging for coins - scumming the place up and generally inconvieniencing the rest of us who are hard at work. Now if they say "But I don't have the time" or "I'm just not that good at creating" - then you don't deserve the trophy - end of story. Just as any other mutliplayer game trophy - if you suck at the mutliplayer aspect, then your not going to get (or at least 'shouldn't get&aposthe trophies. Incidentally, I'm still only 3 creator hearts away from the gold create - and in turn the platinum - trophy *wink wink - nudge nudge - say no more*

And a badly designed metagame leads can lead to undesirable behavior in the community side of your game. If hearting would have been presented like a "favorite" system and that there would be no reward for favoriting stuff, H4H wouldn't be. The real problem is Media Molecule that didn't think more than 2 sec about their trophies. They basically forced people to go into competition in ways and in places it shouldn't be. And MM totally harvested what they did sow: H4H, levels spamming, etc .
