Good graphics and music, but frankly I'm at the point where I'm rather disillusioned with SE's reliance on reputation and big budgets that I can't really ignore the fact that they haven't been able to keep the actual gameplay aspects of the FF games engaging and relevant. Anyway, hasn't this game sort of already come and gone?

Yes, I'm sort of a comic book fan but beyond that I like how the trailer actually emphasized gameplay over how pretty (or rather, how gritty) it looked and while comic book videogames are nothing new, AA's trailer made a statement that the game would reinvent a long broken wheel and it delivered.		2010-08-18 03:09:00

2010 is not even finished yet.
God Of War 3 is more epic than FFXIII already, and even Bayonetta (go play the game if you didn't)
Then we're still waiting for LBP2, Castlevania Lords Of Shadow and Vanquish, so FFXIII most epic.

FFXIII was a huge disappointment for me. To even get relatively close to understanding the story you had to spend ages reading little logs in the menu, the gameplay was mediocre at best and the characters were all terrible. The graphics were good, but I'm not paying to look at beautiful scenery, I'm paying to play. Imo, FFX and lower are the only decent FF games, FFXII and XIII were awful, and I didn't play FFXI.2010-08-19 19:11:00

Nope, I'm here

I liked FF13, although is wasn't the best Final Fantasy It was still good.
I wouldn't call it the most epic game of 2010.
Let me tell you this: FF13 is by what I know to be the 2nd most time consuming game to platinum. (1st would be WKC most people get that platinum in 1000 to 2000 hours.)

I mean the only way you could dislike it is if you've never played it or played it for 5 min and just go 'nah'.

I've played FF4 (Or the one with Cecil, I really can't remember.) for at least three hours.

if you dont like traditional RPG's then you should definatly try out valkyria chronicles mate. its the most epic game of all time!!!!!!
