Is anyone else afraid?

I mean, there's a BUNCH of us basically waiting around for beta info.

As soon as the sign-up page(es) go up.... all *heck* will break loose.

I mean, is anyone else afraid that they're going to be trampled down by the crowd?

I know for a fact that I signed up for the water beta within the hour that the sign-up page went up, and I STILL didn't get in.

I'm just afraid that I won't get it.

It's like... we're all just ready to explode.

The Gamescom conference is tomorrow at 5pm GMT.

If there's any info, I imagine it will be revealed around then.

Is that really what you would even call LBP1 twenty-two months in? don't get me wrong... it's brilliant but come on. There have been alot of bugs related to LBP1 that just never even seemed to be addressed... Hopefully they won't carry over to LBP2		2010-08-17 00:38:00

what was it like it? all depends who you where
for me it was lonely only had 1 friend there
and it was horribly LAGY!
Yoho my goodness that horrible Lag @_@
but for many it was fun err fun enough...
you report lots of bugs Water beta was not a whole lot different
feeling then playing LBP1 with Lag and some new stuff added *mew

well... the water beta was a random drawing, and anyone already in it, ie, anyone who tested online create as well, has access to a sub-forum on the ps blofg, that explains the lbp2 beta a mite... but thats all i think there wads, and if there was more, i am very afraid i cannot say2010-08-17 03:50:00

I mean it will no doubt be LAGGY and I don't think players will be able to endorse the full Gaming experience. And it probably will not even contain much...
Maybe sackbots and some other of the new game features. But to be honest, I'd much prefer a brand new, full working Game with everything in it that an early copy with LAG and not much to live for...
so as long as I get it when it releases, I'm gonna leave the BETA out and I think that others should also follow my steps 		2010-08-17 08:53:00

Firstly, NO DOUBLE-POSTING RAEG!!! PERMABAN!!! Nah, just kidding but yeah, Sackbot you can edit posts if you need to add more/change text. Double-posting is bad... 'nuff said.

Secondly, Technically you don't really have to do anything with the beta... sure some people (like me) want to actually help Mm find bugs, but you really don't have to... you can just play an early beta-version of the game... it's strongly encouraged that you help, but that's it... do what you like! 		2010-08-17 23:44:00

most betas should be taken as work, because nobody likes those who want betas just to play around with the game...its all about fixing bugs and helping the product be as perfect as it can get...thats a small reason why some games always have crappy bugs...people getting into betas only wanting to play

anyways i want to get in to help make the game perfect and earn some exclusive DLC on the way...no fun for me...just work 		2010-08-18 00:14:00

Actually, even if they just play around MM should get some info from them. What sort of methods do they employ to create, or materials they favor. Where they get stuck in story mode. Basically just balancing issues. Of course people who go bug hunting won't give this info (they are playing differently than normal), but they will find more bugs. And the lag is because it's a beta, there's a lot of extra info being pushed about. All the info gathering has to be moved as well as the usual level and player datas.		2010-08-18 00:59:00

Yeah, a little afraid about beta but not too much. If it's only like for example the first 100 people to sign up then I won't make it since I always have trouble and takes me forever to do something that they request. Maybe this beta will have an age limit of 18 and up to get in (and yes they will know if you are faking your age). I'm not afraid at all. It's only a beta. I'd rather wait for the full game. Although, this does not mean I won't try to sign up.

Just realised something, not sure if this was posted anywhere else before.


We will have some more news on how we will recruit for this beta soon, but in the mean time i wanted to drop in and say that you will all be in witha chance to get in.

Notice the 'you' I've highlighted. Isn't it strange that, as far as I can tell, the ONLY places Mm have said this is here and the Workshop? There's no blog post on thier own site, on the LBP site, on the blog, or even on their Twitter as far as I can tell (but please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Now, everyone seems to have interpreted that 'you' as 'everyone and anyone'. But what if because it's only been posted on two forums, it ONLY means people FROM those forums? I know if I was at Mm the main people I'd want testing the next game were the active community members, and this would be one of the first places I'd go.

Anywho, I still think ANYONE will be in with a shot and this is just over-analysis, but thought it was worth pointing out. 		2010-08-19 11:55:00

Well... Everyone and anyone would be nice, just because I personally would get in.... BUUUT, the beta wouldn't really be... special...

now if they had some deal going on with the workshop/LBPC, that would be nice.

but somtimes having a minimum mebership span is the only way to cut it down

like the oc beta keys that were given away at lbpc, loads of people tried out. I imagine it must of been very hard for Cc and the other staff to decide on :S

the fact is, someone will be upset, unfortunatly thats the way it is

The "special" you refer to is just ego. "I got it, you don't, nya nya." What's really special about the beta is the opportunity to get our hands on these anxiously awaited new tools, and help Media Molecule make LBP2 as stable and bug free as possible before the real release. So I think: the more the merrier.

Beta time again, everyone goes crazy, a sudden burst of people joining LBW and LBPC, every Sack for themselves.

Like Sam said, I hope they dont give the Keys to random game sites, that was kinda iffy.
I for one am not afraid, because getting a half-broken game beforehand isnt as better as waiting for the full intense-action-no-lag game. Then again, Id be happy with either one, especially for LBP2.

Yeah, that's what I thought (I used the words 'sign up' for sake of the argument ). For all we know CC and/or the staff might have been asked to provide a big list of candidates. That is until rtm or someone comes along and posts here denying it...		2010-08-20 20:28:00

Honestly if I was in the beta, I would have a whole arsonals of stuff with me and try to push any & everything to its limit. I would really try to be the best bug finder I could. Not to say I wouldn't fiddle around with the tech just a little to see how everthing works. 2010-08-20 20:50:00

Modnation Racers BETA: Got in with a voucher that came with LBP: GOTY.

The nice thing about internet crowds.... it's hard for them to trample you. Cuz, like, you're at home on your computer--they can't reach you to trample you.

to be honest im still DEAD SET on the idea that they'll PM us codes or something....as my theory for why they'd only tell US and LittleBigLand....for those of us who have been here for a loooong time they feel like we deserve the beta...so they might just PM us privately with a beta code each...or maybe give them to CC and he'll think of a good way to give em away

I would love to get into the beta! But I'm not afraid to Not get into the beta.... Sure I'll be very disappointed when looking at an empty inbox for 2 months crying and dreading the fact that some other guy got into the beta and I didn't.. And possibly standing in the conner of my room sitting in an enclosed space crying my eyes out! But seriously? I don't really care to be honest. I'd rather not play a buggy version of the game.
