Sharpen Tool

Archive: 12 posts

just a small idea but i think it would be a little helpful. instead of just covering something w/ spikes we should get a Sharpen Tool or something to make our own swords and stuff2010-08-15 23:20:00

You've worded this very poorly.
But I get the implications of what you are saying and I mean. What you're saying can be done with current tools really.

Coast freak, you at least spell things correctly, and can appear to use correct grammar if you want. And I can understand some of waht you say if I really focus. And I wasn't attacking his spelling or anything which seems to be what he thinks I was doing? I was just saying he could have worded his idea better so that more poeople would understand exactly what he wanted. An invisible danger.

Anyways I'm gonna explain how to do this using just a square of material instead of a sword or something.

Step 1 : Make two squares of (any) material.
Step 2 : Make the second square into a gas.
Step 3 : Make the gas square slightly larger.
Step 4 : Move the gas square into the (still) solid first square
Step 5 : Edit the corners of the gas squares so it just barely extends outside of the solid square.
Step 5 (Information) This step is probably the most difficult. If you make the gas extend too much outside of the square you'll be able to see it, and if you don't make it extend out enough, then the gas won't affect you. So you might have to tweak it a little bit.
Step 6 : Glue the two objects together.

And then your square material now has an 'invisible' danger surrounding it.

maybe 1 if you dont count selecting the tool

The current way takes a minute at most.

You're just being lazy.

You could always just use invisible gas, which i hope is still available in LBP2 (granted, it was a glitch in LBP1, but i bet its possible in LBP2 with invisible materials and what not).2010-08-16 18:40:00

@ LukeCF; aw, a nice thing about me

I guess the starter of this thread wants to make it easy and have the spike death animation.

I'm really not mean or anything. Just grammar and spelling mistakes bug me. If you're going to take the time to write out something, then take the time to write it out correctly. Hah.

Yeah, the spike death animation would be nice for a sword I suppose. But really, I'd prefer Media Molecule to focus on something more useful than just a 'Sharpen' Tool.

Maybe a 'Danger' Tool. It makes the object you use it on lethal. You pick how it looks (fire, electricity, plasma...), and then you ALSO pick the death animation. Maybe a noise to go with it too.

Now this is not a tool I really care about. But just saying if I were to have started this thread I would have thought a little, and changed the 'sharpen' idea, into the idea I just showed off.

See what I mean?
