Ice - PLEASE!

Archive: 23 posts

My suggestion for LBP2?

Add Ice! It looked so awesome in the early LBP1 videos, and I was looking forward to using it's unique gameplay mechanics in levels, but it was cut, without warning, just before release.

I think it needs to make it's heroic comeback in LBP2. I mean, there are only 3 lethal tools, so we need more. Can we really go much longer with just Fire, Electric and Gas? Plus, with LBP2's enhancements, think how 'cool' it'd look!

There's not 3 hazards, they added Plasma lethalization. As for the ice, I've never seen it, but it sounds useless. How is ice a hazard?2010-08-16 01:02:00

If they can fix the Cool Pages, I think they can more than likely fix the bugs with the Ice Lethalization.

:kz:
It immobilizes your Sackperson, making him/her completely vulnerable to sliding into hazards.

Totaly. But it will never be quite as good as what MM could make, right?

Alex Evans even says it's his personal favourite danger! How can you say that's useless?

Not so. I can think of some really interesting co-op gameplay that could be done with Ice.

Plus... I like dangers that don't kill you instantly. Ice floors could be cool.

Ice was crazy. Touch it and you get frozen in a block, then you have to shake your controller to get out. I wonder what happens if you shake out and then just land on the ice again, or if there isn't enough room for an ice block to form. It would look bad with big costumes too. I can think of all kinds of problems and bugs with it. It's just a bad idea in my opinion. I think they were smart to remove it. It's not like something they can "fix", it's completely crazy. To think, a giant block of ice that freezes sackboy in place and breaks when he shakes the controller. There's even limited customization to it, since you couldn't tweak the strength of the ice block, the size, the shape, the color, etc.

I'm sure there will be a lot more ways for sackboy to die in LBP2. The plasma hazard has already been confirmed. Who knows about lethal items like spikes, buzzsaws, knives, or shuriken.

But it's so cool!

I agree with Alex Evans. It's my favourite hazard too. Even if I've never actually used it

Are you... Ermm... not smart?
Media Molecule could so fix this! Take out the controller shaking to get you out and boom that's better. Add in a slider maybe to make it freeze you more quickly or more slowly. The time could show above your head, like the air left while you're underwater. Boom pretty cool there! What do you mean you couldn't tweak the size or shape? It's just an object turned into ice, and you can tweak a object to any sort of size or shape you want. And Color? That's easy to change! Stickers!
