A new interest in video games

| Hello all. I have been playing video games on and off since I was 7. Now, I am 28. Over the past few years, my love for video games had dwindled to the point that I was tired of seeing the same old game being developed year after year (FPS anyone?). A friend brought over LBP about eight months ago and we gave it a try. To be honest, I wasn't blown away and thought nothing more about it until I recently got my PS3 online. While researching online games to try out (this was a last ditch before quitting video games forever), I saw raving reviews for this game and how you just gotta try it online. So, I bought it and did. And my mind was officially blown, just like when I fired up SMB and LoZ all those years ago. I began researching levels and watching videos of this game at work and finally found myself here. A thriving LBP community that is still eager to create and find new ideas, which is exactly what this game needs. I already have LBP2 reserved (CE) and look forward to it like no other game I can remember since SMB3. So, I hope to see some of you online and we can enjoy the ride of LBP1 and, soon to be, LBP2 together. My PSN is Dorktron2000 and I would love to play with some of you. | So I have been playing LBP for a little over a month and have found a few people to play with online but I need some more friends. I like people who can take their time with a level and not act like a 10 year old with ADD. I am still learning the ropes but consider myself pretty good as video games. | Wow, interesting - So LBP has saved modern videogames in your mind? I'm right alongside you about FPS games. I think it's about time that genre got retired for a while. I think there's a ton of potential for first person perspective in videogames, but 99% of first person games out there have a huge honkin' gun taking up an eighth of the screen. There are some very interesting twists on the concept. "Penumbra: Black Plague" for the PC is probably the scariest game I've ever played, is a first person game, and through the whole thing you never get a gun. Anyway, you definitely made a good choice with LBP. Glad to have you aboard!
