My ideas for LBP2
Archive: 18 posts
Hey guys, these are just my ideas for LBP2 Co-creators First of all, something that has been sugested many times before, the option to chose a co-creator, that way, instead of a level saying. For example, "Made by Joskus", the creator of the level, in this case Joskus, could choose people who had helped him to create the level to show up as a co-creator, so then it would say "Made by joskus, wilson_73 and Birdie95" This way, everyone would be advertised, and players will know to heart everyone who helped. Hearts In LBP2, I don't think you should be able to heart levels anymore, instead, you should only be able to heart the creator of the level. In LBP2, hearts should act as a sort of "follow" option, similar to YouTube or Twitter. Your Cool Levels page could then act as a sort of feed of your hearted creators, showing creators that they have hearted or new levels that they have released. For example, if I hearted Luos_Desruc, I would know if he hearted any creators or if he had released a new level. An option could be added to the level page that would say "Heart creator(s)". This would make you heart the creator of the level and any co-creators. Rating Instead of the current five star rating system, a better system would be a "like, dislike or undecided" system. This way, if 12,000 people liked the level, you would actually be able to see this, instead of just wondering how many people gave it five stars. (And yes, I pulled this idea from Youtube...) Bubble money If you wanted to make an RPG like game, then it would be nice for bubbles to act as a currency of sorts. For example, say I wanted a character in my RPG level to give you a sword for 1000 bubbles, you would then have to go and do certain things to collect these bubbles before you could get the sword. It wouldn't be that hard to implement and it would be very handy to make RPGs alike to Final Fantasy or DragonQuest So yeah, they're my ideas so far, tell me if you like them or if you have any. EDIT: Just to make everyone clear, these are only my opinions, so when i say that the "like, dislike" system would be better than the current, I'm only saying that from my point of view Wilson_73 | 2010-08-15 14:51:00 Author: WilsonLBP Posts: 128 |
The Bubble money wouldn't be hard for a creator to make tbh... | 2010-08-15 15:32:00 Author: fodawim Posts: 363 |
Yeah, you could probably do the bubble money thing in LBP 1. I really don't like....the like and dislike rating system. It doesn't let me know if the level is ok. It's just not as good feedback as stars. Taking away hearting levels would probably be a bad idea since the new pages system streams levels depending on what type of levels you enjoy. Co-creator idea is awesome though, maybe you can make it part of the ui in the description, sort of like a link. | 2010-08-15 16:01:00 Author: Unknown User |
Some very good ideas! I especially like the bubble money idea, and I do, no offense to above posters, have quite a hard time seeing this being done effectively in the original LBP. It would involve a lot of counters and switches to make the game know how many bubbles you actually have. There is also no way to deduct a specific number from your score in LBP. Instead you lose a set percentage (5% ?) when you die. I'm pretty sure that we will see many of your community centered ideas being implemented in some form or shape via the new LBP.me. | 2010-08-15 16:17:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
LBP2 has those quirky bubble adding/decreasing switches and the ones who detect how much you have. | 2010-08-15 16:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
LBP2 has those quirky bubble adding/decreasing switches and the ones who detect how much you have... ...allowing for ingame bubble currency! | 2010-08-15 16:20:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

Instead you lose a set percentage (5% ?) when you die. (none taken) It can be done in LBP, but involves advanced logic (it involves a LOT of magnetic switches and directional pistons). And yes there is a way to have it be deducted, but this whole system would take up a lot of the thermometer, so it's pointless to implement it into a level in LBP1. | 2010-08-15 16:36:00 Author: Unknown User |
1. Yes 2. Yes, follow type action would be good, but still for levels too (following to be notified of updates.etc) 3. Yes, but it shouldn't be forced, otherwise noobs just pick whatever option its on. 4. Not like buying DLC like some people suggest, that'd suck, but what you said seems easy enough to make, just need to make some sort of bubble counter. | 2010-08-15 16:38:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |

Yeah that's where the "undecided option comes in though, if you chose not to vote, then you're undecided Thanks for all the replies guys! Hmmm... All fine ideas indeed, I agree with all 4 of them *mew | 2010-08-15 18:40:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
I'd keep the star system tho. Maybe it's better to keep the voters' privacy. | 2010-08-15 19:24:00 Author: Unknown User |

Voters' publicity could spawn Clan Wars oh so easily. ...though, doesn't everything do? | 2010-08-16 07:04:00 Author: Unknown User |
Voters' publicity could spawn Clan Wars oh so easily. ...though, doesn't everything do? Lol, I never said that it would tell you who liked and who didnt, it would just say how many people did. | 2010-08-16 11:10:00 Author: WilsonLBP Posts: 128 |
