Questions about Sackbots
Archive: 9 posts
So from my understanding, Sackbots are a mix between Sackboys and items. So my question is, can you stick tools and items to a Sackbot? Or do they behave more like actual Sackboys and you can only add clothing and decorations. It seems like there would have to be a way to make the Sackbot trigger events that you can't trigger on your own. Someone also mentioned that an entire stage could be played as a Sackbot, letting you force the player to wear a creator chosen costume, are they really that versatile? | 2010-08-15 01:49:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
So my question is, can you stick tools and items to a Sackbot? I think you can add stuff like emmiters, sensor switches and lethalize them. Maybe also connect them to bolts. And don't forget every sackbot has his own microchip. It seems like there would have to be a way to make the Sackbot trigger events that you can't trigger on your own. Sure. Logic can do that easily. Someone also mentioned that an entire stage could be played as a Sackbot, letting you force the player to wear a creator chosen costume, are they really that versatile? Yeah, you can even customize the controls and give the sackbot "special powers". | 2010-08-15 01:53:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
^Actually, I think they said in one of the interviews (Or was it one of the people who played it? Not really sure tbh.) that you could indeed glue objects and stuff to them, now don't assume its 100% possible, but there is a chance it is. (Altho its not finished yet, so they could change that to allow it or not any time. ) | 2010-08-15 02:03:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

I'm super excited about Sackbots, but it's kind of bitter sweet... It took me forever to build a convincing guard, his legs moved as he walked and he aimed his gun (with laser sight) higher and lower. It's a lot cooler than it sounds, and now all I have to do is dress a Sackbot as a guard, and record his patrol pattern. Oh well. Actually, that brings me to another question/ bit of wishful thinking. I really hope that Sackbots can fire deadly paintballs from a Paintinator so we can build shoot-out scenarios. I know I could always use the Creatinator, but that's just not the same. | 2010-08-15 08:23:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
I wonder if we can make a sackbot into a thin layer... | 2010-08-15 08:35:00 Author: Tawarf Posts: 457 |
I wonder if we can make a sackbot into a thin layer... First thing I thought of was Paper Mario. You could make an extremely strange looking level if you forced someone to play as a thin Sackbot | 2010-08-15 08:37:00 Author: Rottinghouse Posts: 143 |
Thatd be a glitch to look for in the beta/full game | 2010-08-15 08:51:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |
One thing i've been wondering is: lets say they lvl you go into lets you play as a sackbot the creator made but what if an explosion happens or you get it with paint since ur in a dcs can you reset the costume????? If you can't then that would really be a bummer. | 2010-08-15 09:04:00 Author: Mangarocks14 Posts: 262 |
