The Ultimate SackMech Challenge (Closed!)

Exactly 21 months ago I started a project: to make bipedal mechs in LBP and create a series of levels around them. Today this project is officially finished! To commemorate this achievement I am throwing the Ultimate SackMech Challenge; a chance for you to win some fabulous prizes.

The Challenge

Be the first to collect all 8 sacred words and unlock the true ending of SackMech.*
* You must have Community Prizes and Photo Booth Pictures turned ON in your LBP profile settings to take part in this challenge.

Where do I find the sacred words?
There is one word at the end of each SackMech level when all objectives are completed.

How do I unlock the true ending?
Play the level SackMech, Epilogue and complete the message on the sacred wall.

How do I prove I unlocked the ending?
You will get a picture of yourself dressed in ceremonial garb in the Epilogue level (only 1 player can enter the Epilogue level). Simply send me a Private Message (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=1118) here on LBPC with that picture (or a link) included.

The Prizes

The 1st place winner will receive 1000 XP AND his or her choice of one of the following prizes:

One FREE LittleBigPlanet or LittleBigPlanet PSP DLC code of the winner's choosing.* (Available for NA (US and Canada) region games only).
One FREE month of LBPCentral donor status. No more ads, and loads of extra forum features!
1000 extra XP. This brings the total to a whopping 2000 XP!!

* DLC can be any one costume, costume pack, level kit or other LittleBigPlanet or LittleBigPlanet PSP add-on worth no more than 5.99 USD on Amazon.com. Some add-ons may be unavailable.

The 2nd to 5th place winners will each receive 1000 XP AND 1 FREE level video or 500 additional XP.
The 6th to 10th place winners will each receive 500 XP AND 1 FREE level video or 250 additional XP.

In addition, everyone who unlocks the true ending of SackMech receives all 7 SackMech mechs as prizes to use however they want!

Winners will be announced as soon as I receive 10 valid entries in my inbox. I will then distribute the prizes.

Yeah, I gave up in level 1.

Still, awesome concept and worked much better then I expected in LBP1. Can't wait to see what you do in LBP2 when you don't need to work around such stuff.

But yeah, you deserve much more recognition O_o. I haven't played any of your levels since your train one eons ago, and I didn't get far at all (couldn't kill one of those mechs... was there a way to aim? XD) but yeah.

@RockSauron: Thanks for the comment, that means a lot.
You don't usually need to aim the weapons, just lure the enemy into your firing range. You can also try to land on top of them to damage them.

The levels are a bit tough, but I couldn't really call it a challenge if the levels were easy to get through. But it should get easier with a bit of practice.		2010-08-17 03:59:00

Sure, I guess if you don't want the level video you can exchange it for 50% more XP. I should have enough to cover that.
So if you get 1000 XP that would be 500 extra, and for 500 XP it would be 250 extra. I'll add it to the first post.

Additionally, since I haven't received any new entries, I am putting a deadline of Wednesday the 25th at 18:00 EST for the contest. I will not accept any more entries at that time and will distribute prizes to those who have entered.

That's alright though. I want people to play SackMech because they like the gameplay and the challenge, so that they get a sense of accomplishment when they finally pull through. I understand fully that it's not for everyone, but if I had dumbed down the series to accommodate every type of player, I probably wouldn't have found it as cool and satisfying to make in the end.

As it stands, finishing SackMech is a pretty tough challenge. Nowhere near as difficult as the Extreme Platforming levels, but still tough. That's why I have no problem handing out my mechs, several months' worth of work, to those who manage to beat the series. I figure they deserve at least that much. 		2010-08-28 03:04:00
