The way you show demonstration of the logic is not something a lot of people do, and anyone who needs more help with logic has the potential to benefit from this level.

My main gripes were the visuals and the switches themselves. Since it's more of a learning experience than a showcase, I think you could have used more colorful materials and maybe some added lighting/stickers. Most of your switches weren't thermo-efficient, especially your XOR switch. Your OR switch was crooked and your toggle was very slow. If you want to see examples of more efficient switches, you should check my Logic Workshop link in my signature.

This is something I may look into in the future. Gotta be in a learning mood, but I know I could learn a lot!2010-08-14 21:08:00

hello artise1,

here is your feedback:

Pros:
+clear, interactive instructions and demostrations
+progressively more difficult logic between steps

Cons
-wished you would have showed ALL logic and connections (ie doors and ect)
(some of the folks may want to know "how" everything works together)
-DONT make it copyable

**the reason I say no copy is because you learned by creating this, by allow others to copy two things will happen. Lazy creators will just copy and repub and they will learn nothing.

In summary, i enjoyed your tutorial and i thank you for providing your version to the community.

As for F4F, I also have a tutorial, Creature Creation Tutorial. Thanx

@sascha i was thinking about it being copyable a few days ago, tha people may take it as there own work, so i will make another level that is copyable that will have the logic for it in there and lock it so only people who played the guide can get the key and unlock and copy the logic level.

ill play your level and give feedback tommorow

Hey there, I checked this level out a little ago, it was pretty cool. I would go off of Incinerator's suggestions and make it a little more user-friendly with colored pieces and all, but it did do a good job teaching I think. Some of those switches I had never even thought of, and they really impressed me! I was a little confused about the NO switches though, to me they seemed just like any other button or lever.

I also liked the section where the logic switches were used to open doors and paths to finish the level, it was a good way to teach visually and really apply the techniques.

Not bad, I gave it :star::star::star::star:

I'd appreciate it if you checked out one of the levels in my sig for F4F.

Great level, Artise1. You explained the logic very well. I've seen AND and OR gates before, but yours are much more simple and user-friendly. I have a friend in the real world who is an actual engineer, and he gave me his logic gates thinking he was doing me a favor. But they were so complicated, all he gave me was a headache lol. I found my own way of making AND gates, but I've avoided OR gates ever since. Yours are very sensible and simple. I now feel confident enough to tackle the more advanced logic you displayed here.

It would have been nice to get these gates as a reward for completing the level. I'm fine with building my own, and I understand you wanting to encourage creators to build their own with the concepts you've explained, so that's really not a negative against your level.

One thing I think miiiiiight improve things, since this is a teaching level, is if, at the end, when you actually show the implimentation of this logic, you put little magic mouths on each one, reminding us which thing is which. I found myself looking at them and thinking, "Now, which one is that?"

Also, the environment looked great!

I also played your currency logic tutorial. I am very impressed with what you've figured out there and if I ever make a level where collecting/spending money would be appropriate, I'll try to use your invention. Thanks for publishing it!

very good level for teaching. i've been messing with logic in lbp since day1 so i didn't actually learn anything but i'm sure i would have! something i've never seen before was the "XOR" gate. i was very impressed by the small and simple design you used to accomplish that logic gate.
the mini-level at the end was a nice touch. it definitely show how logic can be implemented into a nice looking level .

i played it a bit ago but i think i gave it 4 stars! nicely done!

for F4F please play: ginormo burger
