If you?ve attempted to visit lbpmedia.co.uk recently, you may have noticed that no site appears to be there. Unfortunately, there isn?t!

LBPmedia was here for quite some time, bringing you the latest news from littlebigplanet, as well as running competitions, and creating the Sackie-Nominated Littlebigplanet advent calendar.

We?ve had a good run, but, alas, all good things come to an end. We?re sorry to say: LBPmedia has closed up shop.

But luckily for you, we?ve built ourselves a bigger proverbial shop with all the bell and whistles. We?ve christened it Plagachef, and we?ve compiled a potted history of everything you need to know about us, and the site?s slightly odd name.

Let me set the scene?

September 2007; more than a year before the launch of littlebigplanet. A kotaku journalist is about to make history.

At an unknown location, Media Molecule technical director Dave Smith has 15 seconds to describe littlebigplanet for the viewing public. The first 13 seconds go without a hitch, but upon attempting to squeeze the littlebigplanet mantra ?play create share? into two seconds, what we actually hear is something more along the lines of ?Plagachef?.

Plagachef soon disappeared from the public eye, with only slight glimpses from time to time. You can see it on the wheel of the roller-skate item in-game, for example, and a Moleculean level tracking program shared its name with the slurred slogan. At a certain mini-fan meet in London, an utterance of the word Plagachef (along with a sly wink) entitled visitors to a goody bag and a t-shirt.

All in all, however, Plagachef lay dormant for the most-part, biding its time to return to its former glory.

Meanwhile, a group of dedicated fans were to cross paths for the first time. One, a video enthusiast, had recently created a successful YouTube page and wished to extend his fame across the littlebigplanet community, and other forms of media, and thus called it ?LBPmedia?.

Shortly later, many other sackboy aficionados would help out in creating a matching website; sharing littlebigplanet news and creating features for other members of the community to enjoy.

Over time, many came and went, but four long-serving admins remained: Samalot: the founder of LBPmedia, chimpskylark: graphics buff and blogger, cromazonic: long-time pillar of the group, and coolalien: all round dude.

The website enjoyed a long stay, but after a while, the website became restrictive, and the four longed to stretch their wings. They wanted to build their own website with their own personalities and ideas central to its creation, to celebrate not only littlebigplanet, but other games in the genre it pioneered: play, create and share.

And when it came to finding a name, they found the perfect choice: Plagachef.

So there you have it. Plagachef is the sum of all our ideas, hopes, and dreams, ?smushed? into one delicious package, soon to be bursting at the seams with littlebigplanet-inspired joy and creativity. Why not pay us a visit, get comfy, snuggle in and enjoy the site!

As you can imagine, building a whole site from scratch is quite a handful, so sections of the site haven?t yet rolled into operation.

For now, however, we have the littlebigplanet and general sections open for your enjoyment, so get involved, comment on everything and criticize our every move, as the internet was destined to do.

Anyway, enough talk, pay it a visit yourself!
