Is it possible to apply to be a moderator?

No. Active members that contribute a lot to the community are considered in a thread in the Vault, the moderator forum.

Actions are more powerful than words, they say.

Well, I was asked to join rather than applied.

I am unsure of what you mean, Code. What are you implying?

Nothing, just that being a good member is the most important factor in being considered for modship. I didn't ever apply for modship.

To quote the oh-so-famous words of Shakespeare, "Some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." Here in the LBPC forums, we tend to adhere to the latter.

what are the benefits of "MOD MODE" of course you can't share all the secrets.....

Observation is the first step on the road to enlightenment.
(In other words, just watch what we do, and you might be able to piece it together)

What can our questions be about in this thread?

Well, you're getting to know us hopefully, so you can ask pretty much anything. Doesn't mean we'll answer all of it, but we'll answer all that we can.

what did you do before Littlebigplanet? like before it was even heard of

Like for work or for forums or games?
For work I used to own an ISP, I sold it during the peak of the dotcom boom and since then I have been semi retired.

For forums I have been involved in numerous forums over the years some as a user, some as a mod, some as an admin.

For games before LBP you can go all the way back to the first Pong game on a console and basic MUD's via BBS systems on PC and then on the net before the WWW was even invented and it was all text based. Yes I'm that old.

Heh, for me personally, I have been raised by the internet. My mom works a lot so I have been literally raised by the internet, I have learned pretty much everything I know on here. Internet > School for knowledge, seriously. Anyways, yeah, I jump from obsession to obsession. Lets see: a long time ago it was a MMPORG called The Sims Online (TSO), then it became various bands, Saw, Atheism, Evolutionary Biology, Zoology, Writing, World Creation (hehe), and now it's LittleBigPlanet. As for school, eh, not my thing, tbh.

Lots. I played Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV mostly. I was a big Xbox Live player, I love playing with friends. The problem was, most games encouraged a competitive online environment, while I love messing around and enjoying myself. I think that's what drew me to LittleBigPlanet, actually. They have such robust online options, but they don't encourage people to constantly compete with others online. That plus the creativity aspect really got me hooked. I was obsessed with Halo 3's Forge, but I completely gave that up once I heard about LittleBigPlanet. Since then, I've been here.

I used to play Halo 2 on my Xbox, but I lost interest in video games after I beat LoZ: Twilight Princess. Then I saw LBP, and I started saving up for a Ps3. Here I am.

I worked on school, and beat the life out of every game I ever had. Sum it up well enough? In more recent times, I acquired my PS3 in mid-May due quickly becoming obsolete in the gaming department and knowing I knew needed to update before I was completely out of the circle, and so bought the reflective box, complete with CoD4 and Burnout Paradise. And proceeded to beat the life out of those. (And surprisingly, I haven't, yet. And I think it'll still be quite a bit longer, especially as other games join the list.)

Well, I have both a social life and an internet life. Before I heard of LBP, I use to go to another forum (Obsolete for me now). I played a lot of games with my friends, and just had fun....This was about a year ago mind you. I got my PS3 in June 2008 when MGS4 was released. (Didn't get the bundle though). Then I started hearing about this LittleBigPlanet. I thought it was an FPS. (Lost Planet anyone? It wasn't that good of a game), and when I saw videos and was proved wrong, I fell in love with it.

I'm 30 years old now. I've got a degree in nursing, thus being a Registered Nurse. I was in a car accident though many years ago but soon after I started working that can make it hard to work. I've also worked as a missionary on a university campus for a few years.

In terms of computer games, I've grown up with them, which as you can work out is a very long time. Something like 20 years or something. I remember Microbees in primary school and owning old systems like the Megadrive (Genesis), Commodore 64 and even an 8086, which is like the very earliest version of the Microsoft PC, to keep it simple. And that's not a complete list. I own almost every major console and have been collecting them for a long time.

what's your guys favourite FPS

All time would have to be QuakeII CTF. Our clan Carnage was Australian Champions for three years running

EDIT:: VERY IMPRESSIVE

Ugh, I hate FPSes.

FPS's were ruined for me by Halo 3.

I think Bioshock... Not sure. TeamFortress 2, maybe.

Thing is, I like all sorts of different shooters for different reasons. Of late, CoD4 is outstanding. Additionally, I beat the life out of the two previous IW games, as well. I also have a certain affection for Ghost Recon. The original Halo has its place, too. And I have allotted hundreds of hours on the PS2 versions of Star Wars Battlefront and its sequel.

Definitely COD4. Amazing game. 5 on 5 Team Deathmatch with your friends in an Internet Cafe NEVER gets old. I could stay hours playing it.

I'm not really a FPS man, to be honest. Some of them just come across as tech demos and never bother with things like plot or innovation, which to me is just bad. I don't completely hate the genre though. Resistance 1 and 2 are probably the most recent high quality FPS I've played.

I thought I should just ask it here instead of a new thread

1. I posted on the "our stance gamesharing" thread with the updated contract with Sony, Are you guys considering to change the forum back to "No gamesharing"

No, I don't think so. As long as people aren't encouraging or organizing it, I don't see a problem.

2.Whatever happend to my remove/extend the 14,000 character limit request....

Link, please?

QuozL has made me interested in this: How old are our mods and admins? XD

14/11/64 you do the math
I'm 15. My birthdate is 6/9/93. :arg:
16 years of age.

What is 4x4?

I'm old, otherwise known as 30.

Dimensions?

Seventeen. Even if the supposed mentality of half a century.

Also Seventeen.

24.

does any staff not enjoy littlebigplanet the actual game?

Sorry, but I just had to answer this one myself with a rhetorical question.

does any staff not enjoy littlebigplanet the actual game?

Would they be staff to a LittleBigPlanet fansite if they didn't?

Iknowright? But seriously, Miffy is having serious doubts about LBP atm. Don't bother him though, I'm sure he will come back to the light eventually.
If they liked the community, maybe. :/

As no one has posted any thoughts about this whatsoever, what do you guys think about this: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=3111?

Meh reputation is over rated anyway
For rep, twenty-five or even ten per might be acceptable, considering the overall trend to avoid it around here. I really don't think people will be guzzling reputation in the hundreds any time soon.

To whom it may concern...Any idea on who is going to be elected MOD next? Anyone at all? =D

Yes, we have been throwing a few names around.

As Marino said, we're always talking about who we want as mods next. We don't usually hire people unless we need them, though.

Who do you think?

This isn't a democracy it is a benevolent dictatorship, you'll be told who the next mod is and you'll like it

Three guesses. If you guess right, ten bonus points. If you guess correctly on the first try, double the prize.

Do you accept requests for the Arcade?

I noticed that when you want to give someone reputation points, it will sometimes say that you must 'spread some reputation around before giving to this user again'. How many reputation points must you give until you can rep the same member again?

Why don't you give me some reputation and find out.

The exact number will remain classified, to prevent any attempts at exploitation. My suggestion is that if you really want to give someone some reputation, go looking around for some posts deserving it, hand it out liberally but properly, and then go back and try it again. Rinse and repeat.

Honestly, when you first joined this forum, what did you expect it to be like? Its community and all.
Did you actually expect yourselves to get so attached to it? (And that you'd one day become part of the staff =P)

I completely forget joining. It feels like I've always been here. Sorry, I don't have the greatest memory. :arg:

I just joined because I wanted too, I really didn't expect to become this active a member and I never dreamed of becoming a member of the staff.

I was looking for a good LBP forum. I used to hang out at LittleBigFan.com, but it was then abandoned, or so they say. Good community, but eh... This one's better. :] Didn't think I'd get attached to it... Some people here are starting to be more than just "forum buddies" and more like "friends" now. ;D

I expected free toast, but did I get any??? Nooooooooooooooooooooo I didn't, I got nothin, nada, zilch, ohhh other than a set of steak knives I did get those.

I had been lurking around for a few days before I joined. I'm usually deliberate for joining forums. And I'd saw a particular difference in this forum, and so I did. So I already had some expectations ingrained due to my observation. So I thought it'd be a more mature, more reasonable forum than most others. Although I must say that I've gotten involved here much more than I expected, and indeed, more than I have in any other forum, I believe.

Honestly, I didn't expect to be around this long. Something about the community really pulled me in however. I only frequent one other forum and I'm nowhere near as active there as I am here at LBPC.

I initially joined as I saw the web address listed on Donkey Show's "The Azure Palace". It was one of the few great levels visible after the offical launch of LBP. The plan was to meet up with other high quality LBP designers. I was not wrong in this reguard. This is the first and only LBP forum I am on.

Out of all of the admins and mods, which one is most likely to become president?

Marino, no one else is cruel enough.

True, but I can't become president, I wasn't born in the US. I'd say Cartman though, for obvious reasons.

Cartman in about 30 years for sure

I assure you, I have no drive to become president. I have a hatred for most politicians.

Me I'd be a great politician I think.. It's all about insulting people and lieng right?

Lawyer, remember? *Chuckles.* No, if I ever went political, I'd probably get kicked out for arguing too much with the members, trying to get them straightened out, and for carrying a copy of Locke's Second Treatise everywhere, and then quoting from it liberally.

Miffy. He'd get so drunk one of those days, people would have to vote for him.

Miffy's right; he'd be nothing short of perfect for the job.

Hmm....interesting =D

How are referrals calculated on this forum? Or better yet...

What do they mean on this forum >_> <_<

Referrals are simply asking "Which member of the site referred you here?" As for how they are calculated, I don't know what you mean. Explain?

As in, how do you get referrals? Or rather, points for referrals, for lack of better words...

When someone joins and they are invited by you, they can put you down as a referral, and you get points. I don't really know about how that works in conjunction with the point system.

It's 25 points per refferal, myself being in the lead

^ And me being equal with you...At least that's how it was last time I checked, or I may be blind >_>

Yeah, but I'm top of the list xD

Fair enough. Well considering you've got 5 active mods and 2 admins it's not too much of a problem.

Is if fair you guys can edit our posts with out notifying us or asking us?

Yes, because we know to respect boundaries. If we wanted, we could respond to every post like this, but we don't because we don't need to.

Moderators and administrators are assigned to their positions under the license that they exercise their powers responsibly and for the purpose of the forum's benefit, rather than for arbitrary uses. And performing in an arbitrary manner is likely to get that position quickly rescinded. (And I do believe that's too much Locke in my system.)

Shhh... >_>

It's not like the editing is invisible. You can look at a post and see "last edited by (username)". That way you can see if someone else, most likely a mod or admin, has changed the post. Most of the changes I've seen have been because they have not been appropriate. It's not like we change things just because we can, we usually have a good reason.

i mean i like to write in pink because it makes me unique now QuozL changed it because HE didn't like it now is that fair??

I changed it because it was a very long post all done in Magenta (bright pink) that was exceedingly hard to read. People will read your posts if they are quality posts regardless of the colour of the text, though you don't have to worry about it any more currently as CC has disabled it for all but Elite users and mods / admins.

EDIT : uks-finest-hero

i know that! i don't change the colour for the quality of the post i just LOVE the pink and yes because gold can still use see so what is don't worry about it meant to mean i have just as much right as the next guy

I didn't realise you were a gold user and therefore could still use coloured text, that is what I meant when I said "you don't have to worry about it any more currently" as I thought you didn't have the rights on your account to keep using it.

If you feel the need as a gold user to use your pink text there is nothing I can do to stop you but I for one wont be reading your posts as I find it exceedingly difficult and annoying to read.

I'm with QuozL on this one.

Who would win in a fight- Batman or Chuck Norris?

Chuck Norris, either way I'm dead, so I might as well go down gloriously.
>_> wait, do these have to be serious? Ok.
It's not like we're going to ban you for asking fun questions... >_>
What are your stances towards politics?

There are too many lies in politics for me to support any political party, but as for my political philosophy, I'm utilitarian... even though I know it will never truly work.

Errr... I would, but then I would probably get banned. xD

1) Are you serious? Do you even have to ask? Chuck Norris of course, Batman is imaginary my friend 2) Politics or politicians?, if the latter they should all be first against the wall when the revolution comes If the former then Benevolent Dictatorship is the only way to get things done as long as I'm the dictator and Marino is the pirate in charge of pirating

ME EDIT: I wish it didn't take so long for the site to register the points I got so I can finally get that one extra point for gold? >:0

C'mon QuozL... we all know Chuck Norris is imaginary! Noone can slam a revolving door! And we know that if he eats an entire bottle of sleeping pills he won't 'just blink'! Imaginary! He has to be!
Uhm... no reply needed for this mods.... lol.

To be on topic - what are you guys more interested in doing in LBP? Playing or Creating?

I like playing a lot, but when I am inspired, I can go into the creator for hours on end, like today.

I'm more a creating kind of guy. But the more I create, the more I have to update things and the more complex my creations become, so the more time I spend on it. It's a catch 22. I'm doing a reasonable amount of play as well though now-a-days, trying to get all the items in the story mode so I can become a better creator.

Personally i've always been more of a player (lulz) but with the rare good creator in a game i can become obsessed with it. Timesplitters 2/3 for example.... man i spent waaaaay too much time on that just creating levels! I created a 5 stage series!
Though when i played it the other week it was pretty poor compared to what i remember Though i was young so i forgive myself lol.

if you had to eat the same meal every day for 6 months, what would it be? AND what would you consider your greatest achievement in your life so far?

Ooh... Someone gets a bit more serious to the topic. (Took long enough. And yes, that is a thank you.) To be frank, I pretty much do that anyway. I'm very fine with eating the same stuff over and over. Really, I'd be up for a lot of different options. Usually I'd choose because they've got variety in them, rather than being just one thing alone. (For example, I'd take a casserole over spaghetti.) However, I must say I do rather like Shepherd's Pie.
As for the other question, I really can't say I've achieved much. After all, I'm seventeen. Not out of high school, yet. Also, a consistent theme with my life seems to be having the knowledge, not the experience. So the bottom line is that if I achieve anything noteworthy...it'll be a bit off, yet.

Ah, very interesting. I think I'd have to go with my grandmother's Chicken Cutlets. It's a family recipe, and it's fantastic. Greatest Achievement? Good question, I'm not really sure how to answer though. One of my favorite "achievements" is fairly recent: helping make this site awesome. I'm glad to be a part of it, even if I lose a little sleep.

Sushi no question, as for my greatest achievement making it to my 40's without dying
Cheers QuozL

Lasagne, no doubt. It's tasty, good for you, and I loves it. Achievement? Well, sticking on the food topic, when I was 11 or something, I went to Turkey with my freind. I ordered the biggest meal there, which was a 16oz steak, with mashed potato, rice, chips, bread, peas, carrots. I ate everything no problem, including desert, so the manager came down to shake my hand. He even put my photo on the wall

I'd eat bread and cheese, just like my ancestors.

As for my greatest achievement, that'd have to be my Black Belt, I spend 6-7 years trying to get that thing. My test was over an hour long, and I had to fight 6-7 people, do all my forms, break 10 or so boards in one combo, and then do 100 push ups. >_<

Favorite Food: Spaghetti with some tomato sauce and a bit of cheddar cheese. It's because I do myself >_> Even if it's common.
Greatest Achievement? Eh, I really don't have one. I'm like Mark on this one.

It'd have to be pizza. Could literally eat it every meal if the situation called for it. Fresh, cold, whatever; give me a pizza and I'm golden. Greatest achievement thus far would be my son. Truly remarkable that I was able to be a part of something so magnificent.

Hmmm... well, most nights I eat chicken breast nuggests with a side of vegetables. It's quite a balanced meal. As for achievement... Hmmm... there are many great things that have happened, both to me and from my effects on others. Too many to list here.

Your computer + specs?

HP Pavilion Slimlime s3600z
Windows Vista
AMD Phenom 4-core processor(1.8Ghz)
512MB Nvidia Geforce 9500GS video card
3 Gigs of RAM
500GB HDD

However, the video card arrived busted, and I won't have a replacement until later today.

Custom build
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Intel Celeron 2.5 GHz
128MB RADEON 9000
512 RAM
75 Gig HD

Yeah. It's not that entirely new. And it was hardly outstanding when it was. But I make sure it's clean, so it never gets bogged down with just stuff. (For example, I've got...ten desktop icons, and I could probably do with one.) And for some reason or another, it's been tanking a lot lately, and everything I've tried hasn't had any effect. Think the hardware's going.

It's a pretty good laptop /doesn't know specs

Sony Vaio notebook, 17-inch widescreen, 1080p display
Windows Vista 32-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
2GB RAM
300GB HDD

It's an Acer laptop. Let me get some speccing things...
Intel Core Duo T5450 (1.66GHz)
Hooked up to a 42" Plasma monitor (I just use it as a screen for consoles and the computer)
1GB graphics card
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB hard drive.
Honestly though it's too powerful for what I need. I just got this for work and playing World of Warcraft, which I haven't touched since shortly before the expansion. I mainly just surf the internet and occassionaly play games on it.

Marvel or DC?

Don't care for comics.

Yes. *Grins.* Really, I've never had any draw to be reading comics. I have, however, read through a decent number of compilation books. Although that if I had to make a decision, I'd probably go for Dark Horse.

DC, Batman ftw.

That's an easy one. Although Marvel is good, DC overall is better. Though personally I more read manga than American style comics nowadays.

A few questions...

Are there any rewards or positive incentives for blogging on this site?

Aside from some Experience? ...Not really, no. It's essentially just a place that you can use for personal use, that other forum members can access. Probably the best use that I've seen has been development logs on levels, and for that, it works well enough.

Is there a process to getting posts stickied, either your own or other peoples?

Essentially, if the staff thinks that a thread is useful enough to stay at the top of the page indefinitely for frequent use, then it'll get stickied. If it loses its effect, then it gets unstickied. Pretty much the end of story, there, as there's not really a formal procedure.

What's the thing you do most daily?

School. Followed by internet. Followed by (depending on the day) gaming. Fairly straightforward, eh?

My Days are Varied. I come home from school at 4:30, and I'd be dead tired when I come back.
So on weekdays, it's definitely school. 8 hours of school kills me.
On Weekends, depends on which day. Saturday = Social Life. Sunday = Internet.

Internet, then games. :/

Breathe
 Can I join you in that awesome thing?

Excluding school, internet. By far.

Intertubes..

The internet and computer games take the bulk of my time. I also do admin stuff for my grandmother and great aunt and a few church related activites as well. I also read a fair bit too.

What's the best movie you've ever seen?

It's really hard to say, to be frank. I really tend to stay away from straight-up comparisons between stuff, and categorizing them. Instead, I tend to mentally rate them. I will say a movie (or anything else) is good, average, great, amazing, or whatever else applies, but I don't really play favorites. However, as of recently, I must say that WALL-E was pretty amazing.

I honestly can't say. It's very hard to pick a favorite movie. I've seen a lot of amazing ones too. The last good/great movie has to be The Dark Knight though.

I'm not exactly sure, but it's a close race between Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and the Dark Knight.

It;s impossible to pick just one and the list would be too long to post here.

Fight Club, Apocalypse Now, Donnie Darko, He Was A Quiet Man, Superbad, Grandma's Boy, Juno, Shrek, the list goes on and on.

Fight Club, Se7en, The Shawshank Redemption, First Blood, Blade Runner, etc. Remember who started the unofficial Blu-ray thread? It's safe to say I like movies.

I'll just pick a couple of greats. The Matrix, Enemy at the Gates, The Counte of Monte Cristo (latest version), Memento, 21, the latest Narnia films by Disney, most of the more famous super hero films. I'm more a fan of deeper films with hidden meanings that make you think.

why did you guys buy LBP?

I like a great platformer, and I really like the idea of having a nigh-endless supply of great and varied levels to play, and of designing them myself for others to play. For me, a big factor in buying games is longevity. I tend to have a select few, and then beat those to death. LBP has a huge amount of that potential. Also, I'd like something I can play with other people sometime.

Does it really need an explanation? It just has plain simple fun, which I think any gamer could enjoy, even alone. Personally, it's the create part of the game that really sold me. And all those trailers that they kept releasing just made it better.

I just plain like it.

Play,Create,Share

Because it's an amazing game, that's why!

Of all the games I've purchased, this was the one that I never had any doubts about. It didn't disappoint either.

The video trailers looked really promising, and almost every review I read was positive about it. I'm a big fan of quirky games, and this one definitely fits that bill. The fact that you can build your own quirkiness is extremely cool as well.

Just to further clarify the blogging issue, we do get experience when we blog, is that correct?

That is correct, yes.

Is there experience for reading or replying to a blog?

You don't get experience from reading anything. Replying nets you the same experience as posting, unless I'm wrong on that.

What about in terms of the number of people who read the blog, as rewards for the writer?

It's essentially the same as topic experience. The more views, you slowly gain experience as the number rises, and comments add into that more significantly.

Finally, I don't seem to see a list of "blog experience", I don't see a listing in the Littlebigrank list. Which category is it under, if at all?

Go to your profile. (Or someone else's profile, if you haven't done any blogging.) Go to the tabs near the top, and then navigate to LittleBigExperience. Scroll to the bottom, and you will find the Miscellaneous category. I believe gains from blogging response gets put in Misc, and experience from actually posting the blog is dumped in vBulletin Blog. Cartman and/or anyone else who knows what they're talking about, please correct me where I'm wrong.

You're favorite genre of music? Why?

Rock/Alternative Rock. No real reason, to be honest, except for the fact that I enjoy it (not really a unique reason though, is it).

I'm really pretty open when it comes to genre. I like a very wide variety, I simply like the best music of each type. So I go for overall quality taken from everywhere, rather than pigeon-holing myself into one specific section. However, there are two closed doors: Rap, and metal. Rap is, frankly, not even music. There's no melody, it's simply someone talking very quickly in a monotone voice, and somebody beating on a drum. Also, when reduced to poetry, it epic phails. (Note: There are exceptions to this, however, they are those which lean more towards the more pop-tinged hip-hop, which has more chances of having an underlying melody, over actual rap.) Metal I dislike because I have not found anywhere that it's written well. It all seems to be hard for the sake of being hard, and just because they want to do it that way, not because of inherent advantages. Plus, screaming just is not pleasant. I appreciate the fact that it's very difficult, and takes great skill, as does rap. However, that doesn't mean it's actually good. Music is more than technical. Which metal, as its name implies, tends towards. The best metal I've heard has leaned more towards hard rock, which has a more musical element to it, although hard rock also has a nasty habit of being hard simply for the sake of being hard. And yes, in case you haven't noticed, this is Mark. I'd point to my subscript, but this isn't quite my post.

With that said, I'd like to make a final note that I tend to like rock in general, as it's very flexible in its sound and style.

Rock/Punk, other stuff drives me crazy.

Tough to nail it down, but - if I have to pick one genre - I'll take grunge any day of the week.

I don't listen to much music, to be honest. I'm a fan of classical, jazz, and Christian rock/pop. Why? Well, I just don't listen to too much modern stuff, and some of the current music can be quite offensive. I do enjoy most of the soundtrack from say, Guitar Hero: World Tour though. Some of it's a bit off, but overall it's a good track list.

What is lbp's role around here? I ask because I hardly ever see him.

He pays for the site, but it's usually CC running the show.

Well, he also does backend work that I am not able to do. Since he pays for the servers, he has access, so he does work there when it's needed. I and the mods do most of the frontend work, though.

I was wondering about supersickie... I've noticed he does not have the "moderator" sticker under his name, for example as you see under Forsaken. Any official comment on this?

Haha, It's just that Code is the one that makes the moderators buttons, and he didn't have his computer for a while, so he couldn't make it. But he made it yesterday I think, but lbp needs to upload it to the server now.
He should get it today or tomorrow.

Well, seeing as I'm a new staff member I'll have to go through this list and add my thoughts on the topic. I'll choose Blue for my colour, hopefully it's different enough. If people have new questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Do you guys think if CC wasn't here, the site would be as good..?

That's not really a question I can answer fairly.

No, not a chance, we'd get by but it wouldn't be the same.

Heck NO!

Even before I became a moderator (that's yesterday) I could see he was doing a whole lot of behind the scenes work and upgrades on this site.

Now that I see replies from some of the staff, I'll chip in my opinion. I think I've contributed to the site in a significant way, yes. However, there's no way this site would be as good without the awesome staff keeping things clean and the fantastic members keeping us working to make this site as good as possible. It's definitely not a job I'd give up, even if I had no access to LittleBigPlanet itself.

Honesty, CC is the main reason this site runs so well. A good deal of you have your own opinion, but the fact of the matter is he's always out to improve the wonderful, little site we've got here. --supersickie

think that without CC the site may still be up and going but would not be going as good as it is atm he seems to be really dedicated to this site and does a lot of hard work to try keeping it up and going along with the others that do work on the site so CC and his great team of workers are doing a great job on keeping this forum up and going....thanks to all of you!!!

By the way, what would you guys say was your favourite Ps3 game of all time?

Currently lbp, but Final Fantasy 13 might change that.

LBP right now... Might be Killzone 2 later, who knows. Maybe Disgaea 3 when I get it. Maybe FF13. I can't really pick one. x_x

Ironic... A specific noun and "of all time" in the same question. For me, it's hard to pick. Sorting between multi-plat and exclusive also hinders it significantly. Another thing is that I tend to avoid comparison between games, and stick to strict, objective ratings. For me...dang. I've gotta say between MGS4, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, and CoD4, just for saying it. If I sit down, I'll just get confused.

LBP, hands down. I've spent maybe 150 hours on it already. It's just that good.

Other greats would include Virtua Fighter 5, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, Elder Scrolls Oblivion; The Orange Box (Portal); Folklore; Guitar Hero: World tour; Resistance 1 and 2; Fallout 3; and a little known but in my opinion brilliant title: Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. And no, I did not go through and list every game I have.

LBP, MGS4, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Assassins Creed

LittleBigPlanet, no contest. I've never had a game grab me like LittleBigPlanet does. I couldn't play it 24/7, but it's one of those games that never gets old; one you can stop playing for a week, go back, and have a completely new experience.

I'm really enjoying Skate at the moment, but LBP is unreal. --supersickie

What do the other mods think about having Elbee23 in the team?
For me, there would be no better choice of a new mod.

Most of us posted in the announcement thread but to reiterate it was very well deserved and a welcome addition to the team

It can be rather nice to have a spunky young newcomer around. Especially because it's a good rationale to pawn off moderator tasks in the name of "experience".

I think he's made a great addition to our team, and he's done his fair share of work already. He's much nicer than me, and genuinely cares about the forum. His style of moderation is much different from mine. It'll be interesting.

Code made a good point. He's definitely a polar opposite to some of the staff, which is a good thing. The best leaders surround themselves with people who think differently, so it works in a way here as well. I try to keep moderation styles as diverse as possible, so we have different people for different situations.

Seems like a sharp guy; glad to have him aboard. --supersickie

A question that I'm sure we all want to know, what are all the staff's favourite types of cake (If at all)?

I'm straight up chocolate mud man. Plain and simple.

The cake is a lie. In all seriousness, cookie cake.

Chocolate Brownies

Cheese.

Gotta agree with you, Mark. Cheesecake is my favorite of all cakes. Now, if we're talking dessert, I've gotta go with almost any kind of H?agen-Dazs ice cream. Particularly the Caramel Dulce de Leche.
Ones with sprinkles

Angel Food. Mmmm. --supersickie

What kind of things do you guys have hearted on your Popit? (You know, I really like how well you guys react with the members. It's amazingly better than the last forum I was at.)

A mudkip costume.

My popit I don't think has anything hearted. I only have about 4 costumes I actually wear, and only one has stickers on it. It's to keep the profile size down so I can do more level work. My "default" costume is a pirate cat in a trenchcoat.

In my create mode popit I'll have hearted the latest version of whatever crazy gizmo I'm building. That makes it easier to find them when I often have several versions being tested and tweaked.

A couple of costumes, that's about it

I, uh.... I don't actually have anything. ...Hmm. Probably should work on that. But then, all the stickers with only a few exceptions also have purple outlines designating newness and unusedness, so that's also telling.

I have a few things. Mainly frequently-used materials (dark matter, dissolve, etc) and whatever palate I'm working from at the moment. I've also hearted all of the light objects, so I don't have to scroll through the whole objects list to get to them.

Stuff I'm gonna be using a lot. For example, on my Etherea level, there was a lot of lighting involved, so the 2 main lights were hearted xD

I'd just like to say this is an awesome idea for a thread. I never looked here because I thought it was just for new members. Anywho, I have a question... What are your favourite TV programs?

South Park, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, any good documentary, any motorsport

I don't watch TV anymore. :/

Family Guy, Scrubs, Road Wars, South Park, 2 and a half men, Playr

I haven't watched TV for... I think 5 years now. The whole idea of watching a series at a time someone else sets just seems really dumb to me. I do watch some TV series on disc though, which include Battlestar Galactica (new version); Smallville and Heroes. I watch Mythbusters with "J" as well.

Pretty much as a rule, if I have access to a TV, I will have a controller in my hands. Mostly because everything on TV either stinks, or it's not worth my time in comparison. About the only thing I do watch is Mythbusters, which is set on the satellite to automatically record episodes, and I'll go through new ones as they come out.

Here goes... Dexter, True Blood, Mad Men, Entourage, Chuck, Fringe, Bones, Mythbusters, LOST, The Office... --supersickie

^ What do you do when you're bored?

Console games, read a book, surf the net or play online games, design LBP stuff on paper

*EDIT*

Totally off-topic, my bad.

Do you guys prefer coffee over tea?

actually neither, I might have a cup of tea if I have a cold but I find them both really bitter so don't drink it very often

No, tea is better than coffee.

(Note: I almost typed my color as "tea". Need to try that sometime.) But yeah, tea is the way to go, there. Tea is a lot more of an actual drink. More...fluid. Coffee I drink primarily as liquid sleep.

When I drink tea, I drink green tea. Which is usually at least once a day with breakfast and maybe throughout the day. I very rarely drink coffee. If I'm in a cafe (and most of them don't serve good green tea) I'll drink an Ice Chocolate or a Hot Chocolate.

I'd say tea over coffee, but I'd just rather have water if it's all the same. --supersickie

When some of you were non-mods (Elbee ) did you talk to the mods of that time like friends or... Well... Mods? One other thing, you now have me interested guys, what are your moderation styles? If you can tell me, though I dont see why not.

When I wasn't a mod, there were only 2 other mods. BBRoman wasn't very active at all, but I was pretty good friends with Maltay.

My moderation style? Well, erm.. IDK?

You've gotta admit that the mods here are a pretty friendly bunch, so "mod" was more of "respected user with 1337 powers" than..."Mr. Moderator" would be the comparison, I guess. In moderation, I tend to be pretty lenient and patient, and give out a lot more warnings than I do infractions. Not to say that I haven't, though. But I moderate in moderation. (Pun very intended.) I also lean towards conversation towards correction with the infractee, rather than silent infraction. Which also means I tend to show up best when there's a controversial topic to be handled.

Mark, your colours sick xD

Well, the moderators are relatively friendly people even outside of modship. I had several conversations with CC, aer0 and Code in particular before I think they were even thinking of the whole mod thing. Some of them are more "hidden" on the forums than others, but sometimes that's by choice or time, and sometimes that's to help them moderate. It's not like they appeared completely out of the blue for the offer of a moderation position, and I think that is a good thing.

As for moderation style, I'm still learning some of the moderation tools. I try and be more helpful than heavy handed in general, just moving and locking as required to help keep things clean and organised.

I'm more personally in favour of positive reinforcement instead of punitive punishment. If I do need to warn, infract or ban, I will try and suggest positive things so people can change thier behaivour in a good way. You can always contact us with PM's, Visitor Messages or the Feedback forum as well if you have further questions or comments.

Just don't think I'll be afraid to penalise if necessary. Be afraid, evildoers! :kz:

I had talked to QuozL a few times; bloody nice guy. And Forsaken and I were on speaking terms before either of us joined the staff.

Moderation style... I'm someone that likes to be seen and not heard so to speak. I hang out here and only get involved if the situation calls for it. I like to keep the masses guessing. --supersickie

Before I was a moderator... well to start, let's go back to the month of August 2008, when I first joined. I was a new member, and I LOVED to draw sketches of LBP levels and posted loads on the ideas section. I still do that more than I play the actual game tbh. So I joined about the same time as Sage, when things were still young, CC was a moderator at the time (he infracted me for double posting on my first day, talk about irony). Then I started to give out free sigs. I wasn't very good at making them back then, but I tried, and members liked them. I would make them for anyone really, my old gallery is full of them. Then all of the sudden, I was a moderator. (Before then, I had hated way the majorty of the moderators tbh. Maltay seemed like he got there for his popularity, and bbroman had been a jerk to me, but I liked CC and Drunkmiffy.)

All of this has contributed to my style of moderation. I'm wary that I should not be too aggressive and make people feel worthless, but at the same time I must show that breaking the rules will not be tolerated. Thus I infract/warn whenever you break the rules, but I don't infract you just to show my authority.

Who thinks elbee should shave that bush on his face. lol.... *raises hand*

Nah, looks fine.

We are in the middle of a heat wave where I live. It's consistently 30+C, sometimes going 40-45C. (It's summer in the southern hemisphere, I'm not sure what those are in F) If you wear a beard long enough it does not feel hot, but I have been considering trimming it. I don't normally clean shave though as it makes me look like I'm 22 again.

You know, Aer0blue is the only mod to ever give me an infraction. But he did it in such a nice, polite way that I put him on my PSN friend list.

All other mods can learn from this - punish with love and the kids will respect you.

We normally do that the first abuse, because don't like seeing people banned. This first warning works for 80% of the population. The other 20% will argue back. Those types tend to end up banned, though some eventually accept that they were wrong and follow the rules.

Also, Elbee23 - I think anyone who can build a LBP tongue as well as you certainly deserves to be a leader here. If you ever need to discipline me, I will take my medicine knowing that you are only trying to help me to be a better SackBoy.

Thank you for your kind words.

Keep up the good work! Just put this note up here for a few grins.

What do all of you think about vegemite? What are some american things that us aussies dont like? *Cough* Dr. Peppers *Cough*.

EIDT:Cepacol? AHHHH!!!!! Also, why is it so bad? Sadly I dont know what the black dregs from the bottom of a beer barrel tastes like because I dont drink beer too often yet xD.

EDIT2: Elbee :[. You let me down a bit there mate hehe :3. Make sure you dont spread too much on. Or take a giant spoonful like the americans do and have it taste like pure salt. Th rule with vegemite is only a small spreading on you toast! NEVER put too much on. Also, you must have butter on your toast. /Vegemite lesson. Thanks for the beer lesson there Quozl :3. Homemade vegemite? Hehe.

Well I'm Australian (been here over 20 years and am a citizen) and I think it is the most disgusting, vile tasting condiment ever invented by man. Seriously it is like scraping the black dregs from the bottom of a beer barrel.

Item Australians don't like from America is Root Beer (My wife says it tastes like Cepacol mouthwash) though I personally love the stuff oh and we love to hate Americans

EDIT:
EIDT:Cepacol? AHHHH!!!!! Also, why is it so bad? Sadly I dont know what the black dregs from the bottom of a beer barrel tastes like because I dont drink beer too often yet xD.
Yes you do it tastes just like Vegemite as that is basically what it is, Yeast Paste and that is what is left in the bottom of a barrel that has been used to ferment beer in

Never had the stuff, but I can't say it looks to tasty either. I'll just take QuozL's word for it. Something you might not like... no idea really; we're notorious for being a largely obese country. Things taste pretty good over here. --supersickie

Well, I am Australian, born and breed, but to be honest, I personally don't like vegimite. It's far too bitter and salty for my tastes.

Something I don't like from America... hmmm... well, I don't like that they have a larger population base and better geographical location, and so get better technology earlier than us. *cough*Rockband series*cough cough*. Though I must say over time this is getting better and less of a problem overall.

Have any of you infracted/banned someone and regretted it?

Nope as in all cases they have broken the rules and have been warned previously. In the case of a ban it's not like they don't get ample warnings and information on how to correct their behaviour to avoid the situation. Also all bans are discussed in depth amongst the team and a consensus reached before action is taken

I feel remorseful, but it had to be done, y'know?

As stated previously, I tend to actually warn, over infract. But that doesn't mean I haven't done it. And when I have, it has been deserved. I've also consulted with other staff in some situations, and most of the time, my feelings are more of 'sic 'em!'

Do all of you guys/gals, personally know each other? I mean do you actually see each other in the flesh on a regular basis or at times? Or is everything just passed back and forth on the net?

Nope, we work over the internet. We still know each other very well (as well as we have to, anyway), but we've never met in person.

Quozl and I are in the same country, but are approximately 1000km away by physical distance. I haven't been up to Brisbane in a long time....

But anyway, I haven't met any of the staff in person yet, but we do keep in contact through things like PMs, MSN and the moderator sections. Being in other counteries makes it hard to meet in person. - Elbee23

Just curious how often the staff are updated?

We add staff when necessary. If the staff we have now is sufficient, there's no need to complicate things with an extra person. A small, effective team is always easier to manage than a large, effective team.

I believe Supersickie had just become a moderator soon after I joined, which I think was around 3-4 months ago. I believe I was added on to help handle all the new members we have gotten since the Kratos4 tank giveaway. So I guess that gives you some idea of new staff intakes, but it's not my idea who becomes staff. - Elbee23

I'll revive this.

How much time do you actually spend on the site? (approx.)
a couple of hours every day at least
Not very much anymore
Not as much as I use to. I'm in a bit of a slump reguardings LBP at the time of writing this, and am diversifying my game playing interests a bit. I just need to get back into it, but it's good to have a break. Consequently my time on this site is not as much as it once was. - Elbee23
A good deal really. I'm around nearly every day I'd say. - supersickie

How are things since I left the staff?
you left????
I left?
I miss your work on the Forum games section. That area usually gives me a headache. I have no idea how you managed to keep up with the spam can. - Elbee23
Just peachy. Man, things have never been so good! Just joking mate; miss having you in the ranks to be honest. Glad you're still around to some degree though. - supersickie

What is your favorite genre of music?
I like anything except country
Everything except Rap, Hip-hop and Country.
I listen to a fair amount of Christian Pop and Anime sound track music. My favourite genre would be Techno actually, but it's severally misunderstood and half the stuff is crap douf douf or swearing. Still though... good techno is in my opinion the modern equivalent to a classical symphony. - Elbee23
Favorite genre? I think Coheed & Cambria count as a genre all by themselves, but I'll just say rock and leave it at that. Favorites in addition to Co&Ca include Pearl Jam, NIN, Neil Young, HURT, and several other artists. - supersickie

Well, I don't like country generally... generally the lyrics are bland and stereotyped, and the music overly boring. But I'm guessing this question was aimed at someone else. - Elbee23

So, how does LBP rank up in your eyes?

LBP is a great game. It's got tons of replayability, it's addicting, and best of all, it's open to anyone and everyone who wants to give it a play. Personally, I don't play it much outside of when it's necessary for the site, but I do try to play at least an hour a week so I keep up on new levels, the News Moon, etc.

Also, what are you opinions on the site? Where it's been, where it's going, ect.

That's a loaded question! Well, honestly, it's going great - much better than I would have guessed early on. The community is utterly fantastic - 100% representative of the community Media Molecule hoped to foster. In the future? We're aiming to support the PSP version (we're in touch with a few people, hoping to get some insight on the game) and we're prepared to stay alive all the way to LBP's sequel, if one exists. That's really far in the future, but we're doing our best to keep going so we can be here when that stuff rolls around.

What do you dress up your Sackboy as?

The only thing I do to my Sackboy is put on the material with the black paint on his hands and right eye. Sometimes I add glowing eyes for a change.

My main costume is a pirate cat in a trenchcoat with a cape. If you combine all those ideas are, that's what I normally dress as. It's not stickered, but I like him. - Elbee23

What are your favourite user created levels, from this site or otherwise?

My absolute favourite was Geostatus' level. Ermm, I can't think of the name right now but it had something to do with searching a jungle with a ruby. I loved it. The only part I felt wasn't up to his standards was the car part which was quite mediocre.

Favorite level? Ramp easily, haha jk, hmm that's a tough one, if I had to choose one, it would have to be the Boss Rush series. Why? Mainly because I love a good challenge, and those bosses are challenging! - Whaaaaale

What's the coolest thing you've ever seen on LBP?

That's a tough one. I remember seeing Libidus.JP and being absolutely amazed by it back then, so it would probably be that.

Just the sheer amount of time some people put into their levels, it really amazes me that a game like this could take up so much time, but it definately shows. - Whaaaaale

What's your favourite item of clothing in LBP?

Hmm, not sure what it's called but the shoes that look like the shoes that are in fashion now, they have big laces, and stuff. And that army hat, I love it. - Whaaaaale

The crown I'll win after the golf contest.

I'd say my absolute favourite would be the Cat's eyes, of all things. Second would be the Roman Cape. - Elbee23

What are the stresses of your lives?

The varying age groups could be interesting.

I don't really get stressed. I'm usually very relaxed and even though I have the most important exams of my life in a couple of months, I'm not feeling the pressure.

Hmmmm... well, my health isn't the best. I was in a car accident 9 years ago now and still have muscular troubles from it. At the moment it's been the worst it's been in all that time, though it is stabalising with medication. It's just frustrating and stressful having "bad days" when you have to cancel plans and appointments. You can't plan bad health days in a diary.

I'd also say having to pay the bills for myself, my mother's estate, my grandmother and great aunt who are both in high level aged care facilities (Nursing Homes) and all own properities that need to be managed are stress as well. It's a lot of responsibility for someone so young (I am 31 now - I had a birthday last month and forgot about it :blush. - Elbee23

Wow, sounds tough Elbee, you'll make it though, don't worry! As for me, it's pretty much like Killian, I just go to high school, about to graduate in 2 months, then that's when the stress will probably kick in, or not. We'll see. - Whaaaaale

:o. Elbee. I feel so sorry for you. Your tough though. And Happy Birthday. ;_;.

What's the pay like?

It depends on the weekly donations! Seriously though, I'm happy to part of this site's fantastic team.

In other words, there is no pay. Our whole staff (including me) works for free. All the money donated goes to supporting the site.

(Haha at CC clarifying Killian)

For the adult members of the team, do you have day-jobs, and if so what are they?
Semi retired, used to own an ISP, sold it during the DotCom boom.

I'm semi-retired as well, living off an inheritance from my mother and an income from managing my grandmother and great aunt's affairs. I'd like to get back into "paid work" again some time though, but my health is preventing me from doing so in the short term. I also do some volunteer work for my church as well. - Elbee23

I'm doing my Leaving Certificate (last examination before college) in a couple of months so I don't really have time to get a job. I was working at Disney On Ice last week and I hope to get a job for the summer.

Favourite book?
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson

So many to choose from... I'm being really challenged by a current book I am reading, "Changes that Heal" by Dr. Henry Cloud. It's a book that challenges your world view and is very stretching to work through.

I've been absolutely amazed by the "Twelve Kingdoms" series by Fuyumi Ono, a Japanese novalist that has been translated to English. The first book in the series is called "Sea of Shadows". It's also been released as an anime. I just could not put this series down, I tend to read about 100 pages a day, it's just so incredible. - Elbee23

I've read so many. I can't possibly have a favourite.

Favourite film?
Too many to pick just one

I agree, again, so many good ones. This question was asked a few pages back and I gave a reply there. - Elbee23

Again, very difficult. I'm going to have to go with Troy. I never seem to get bored of it.

Favourite game aside from LBP?
Counter Strike, Q2 CTF

Well, I've finally come to grips with Oblivion and enjoying that. I would not go so far to say it's the best of all time, but it is very good and it's my current time filler. - Elbee23

Rome: Total War - If you have played any game in the Total War series then you'll know how amazing they are. Rome happens to be my favourite.

Can i have a peanut?

I don't understand the question... I'm guessing this is a reference to some pop culture thing I'm missing out on. - Elbee23

Only the great RockSauron may answer that one my friend. - Whaaaaale

Do you play any instruments?

I can play the Euphonium and Tuba, though I have not played them for over 10 years now and don't own those instruments. I can play piano roughly, the bass guitar fairly well, and am a grade 5 bass singer (that means I have professional qualifications to sing). I don't play or sing all that much now-a-days though, apart from in Guitar Hero. - Elbee23

Yes I do, I play an electric guitar, practice everyday for at least 2-3 hours, getting fairly good at it might I add. That's all I really play, I can play everything on Rock Band though! - Whaaaaale

Favorite platformer game (aside from LBP, of course )?

Probably Ratchet and Clank. Though I haven't bought the more recent games, I really enjoyed the first few.

What is your favourite story mode level?

I can't remember the name of it but it was the one with the fantastic use of emitters. That was a very inspiring level.

I'm a sucker for easy ace levels, so I'll choose The Bunker. Ahaha only joking. But I like "The Collector" series the most. - Whaaaaale

EDIT: The temple one? With the magician?

That's the one.

EDIT (again): I love the x2 section in that level, and the mini-survival challenge you have to complete to reach it.

If you could be an animal what kind would you be?(no whales allowed)

I've no idea, actually - I don't think I'd want to be an animal. If I absolutely had to, I think I'd be some sort of bird, but I wouldn't exactly want that.

It has to be a bird, everyone wants to fly. I'd find out the one with the longest lifespan and choose that one.

I'd say a cat of some sort. Not necessarily a great cat either, a common domestic cat has a pretty good life too. - Elbee23

No whales eh? I'm not answering this then! - Whaaaaale

How much time a day do you spend on LBPC or working on something for LBPC?

Depends on the day. Today I probably spent a good 6-8 hours.

It varies a lot. Sometimes one, sometimes, four, sometimes eight, or anywhere in between. Whenever I'm doing other things on my laptop, I have LBPC open in another tab.

It use to be a lot more in the past. Recently I've been getting bad headaches though that make it hard to concentrate on things, and so I haven't been on LBPC as much as in the past. I'd say it would be an hour every few days right now, but usually it's about 2 hours per day in the past. -- Elbee23

Whenever I'm on the computer, I always have LBPC open in a tab, so I'm on it a lot, doing moderator stuff. - Whaaaaale

If you could improve ONE thing about LittleBigPlanet, what would it be?

Fluids. I want fluids, then I'll be happy.

Hmm, so many things. I would create a filter that automatically deleted any level with H4H or Prize in the title.

The online servers. - Whaaaaale

Where would be your ideal place to live? (Nowhere under-water. Take note, Whaaaale!)

Little Italy in San Diego - man I love being right by the water and being able to walk to dinner every day. *sigh*

Probably Switzerland, or a warm country near the coast. I'm about 50 metres from the beach where I am, but it's generally too cold to swim unless it's summer.

Sydney is a great place. If only they could fix the transportation issues, it would be even better. - Elbee23

Nowhere underwater eh? I'm not answering this then! - Whaaaaale

Whats your favourite food? ( No Plankton OR Whale food. Take note, Whaaaale!)

I have too many foods that I'm a fan of to pick just one, but some of my favorites are pizza (good pizza, the thin greasy kind that actually tastes Italian - no franchise pizza), In-N-Out (Double double animal style with animal style fries? Oh man, talk about a meal), and chili.

Strawberries!

Hmmm... so many choices. A good southern Chines BBQ roast Goose is a fantastic meal. Proper italian pizza is also a fantastic dish. You can always tell the quality of an italian resteraunt by the quality of their Margarhita pizzas. - Elbee23

No plankton or whale food eh? I'm not answering this then! - Whaaaaale

Whos your favourite LBPC Member? (Well, second. First is obviously me. )
I don't have one - there's too many possibilities to pick from.

Cartman told me earlier that I was his favourite. As for me, I don't really know. So many cool people. <3

What!? Cartman told you that? He said I was his favorite! Lies and slander lies and slander! I don't have a favorite member, though if I had to choose, it would be Whaaaaale, that guy and his many vowels in his name, amazing. - Whaaaaale

Ok guys, any of you got any serious Phobias?

No phobias, really. I have fears, but nothing life-restricting.

I don't actually think I'm afraid of anything. I used to be afraid of millipedes but I desensitised myself to that by picking up every one I saw.

None here, sorry. Elbee23

Nothing really serious, but you could say I'm a bit closterphopic, nothing serious though I just don't like being in cramped areas. - Whaaaaale

Or alergies?

I grew out of my allergies - I used to allergic to...dust mites, I think.

Not that I know of, though my brother has a fatal nut allergy.

I have an alergy to vegetable seeds. Most people think it's just me avoiding healthy foods though. I also can't eat anything spicy whatsoever. Cinammon as a spice is pretty strong. : - Elbee23

I just recently got allergies (weird I know) two years ago, every time Spring season starts, I start to sneeze uncontrollably and I tend to have a running nose, just in the Spring though. - Whaaaaale

I have a question:

Do you like to create stuff in LBP?

I sometimes have 8 hour creation sessions without eating.

I've always wanted a game where I could build whatever came to mind, then save it to mess with later. I have those thoughts a ton, so since LBP exists, yes, I love to create. Now I just need to wait for my replacement part for my PS3 and I'm golden.

I don't like it, I LOVE it. In all seriousness though, I sometimes have, just like Killian, long hour sessions without eating, I just get so into it sometimes... - Whaaaaale

Favourite levels in the Spotlight threads here on LBPC?

Wow, there's so many. I don't want to start naming creators as I'll miss one and he/she will be angry! One can't help to love their own levels though. I don't mean that in a "my levels are the best in there" type of way, just that I get a great sense of pride when playing them.

What is one thing you wish you could create in LBP but can't? (not sure how, or too time consuming)

I haven't come across something that I couldn't create. One day I hope to create some kind of dynamic AI system, though I don't have enough time to spare on my PS3 at the moment.

If MM made LBP2 for the PS4, what do you think should be different about the game to make it different from LBP?(full 3d for example)

LBP is such a groundbreaking game. Sure I have suggestions for improving the current game, but if Mm do release another, it will be outstanding and probably beyond what I can hope for. One of the biggest things, I suppose, is integration of the internet. Like Sackbook, but on a massive scale.

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

What games are you guys playing besides LBP?

New Fallout 3 DLC. I just spent a bunch of cash on Broken Steel and The Pitt, and I'm hoping to work through those over the next couple of weeks. Knowing my schedule, I'll probably only get in an hour or two a day. Combined with the fact that I am an absolutely dedicated explorer when it comes to new areas, it'll probably take me a while to finish.

Worms! I bought of from the PSN store last week.

I'm back for some intense questioning

Last LBP Level you played?

Zephyr Valley. Fantastic level.

Zephyr Valley for me too, I couldn't resist after seeing it in the showcase forum.

Current favourite gadget?

In LittleBigPlanet? Probably the magnetic key switches - lots of possibilities there.

Emitters, so useful for emitter enthusiasts like myself.

I'd say Magic Mouths, to be honest. They give a great way for the creator to communicate to a player by use of words. If only they could increase their capacity and make them more reliable to use, they would be even better. - Elbee23

What's it like to live where you live?

Boring. Very.

Fun.

I like Sydney. Apart from the public transport problems and physical distance of the city (It's very large but not very dense in terms of population density) it's a great place to live. If only the rest of the world was closer. - Elbee23

When you first joined the site, did you ever think you would become a mod?

(This obviously doesn't apply to mods who were mods from the start)

As there were no mods when I joined up (just the original admin, lbp), I didn't know what to think. I just joined to have a place to rant and rave about the game when it released - I never expected to have full control of the place.

No, I didn't think I'd be around as much as I have as I generally posted around the GT forums. I left there a long time ago when I became addicted to LBPC.

One of the first posts I read on this site was of Marino stepping down as a moderator. That inspired me to be a model citizen, and also showed to me that the site takes seriously the idea of accountability and responsibility. - Elbee23

I just have 1 burning question I need answered so that I can sleep better at night; Why are all the other LBP sites so sucky compaired to yours? Were you guys specially recruited by MM or something? Because I've checked everywhere and this forum is the pinnacle of web design IMO.

I guess that's actually 2 questions but math isn't my strong point

Well the look of the site is mainly down to EvilTikiGod. He did a fantastic job on it. As for the rest of it, it's largely based on the community feedback. People like it here as it's what they've asked for. All of this, combined with some amazing work from Cartman and lbp, makes LBPC what it is.

Well, while I don't think it's the "pinnacle" of web design, we do try to ensure it's as easy to use as possible. Barriers to entry are kept low so as many people as possible can enjoy the site, and the visual layout was important to making sure those barriers were as low as we wanted them. I can't take credit for the style, though - we had a very generous individual by the alias of EvilTikiGod who coded and styled this theme for us for free. Regarding the other sites, I can't speak for the decisions they made - that's something you'll have to ask them.

And, no, we weren't "recruited" by Media Molecule at all - they actually didn't know we even existed until I annoyed them for an interview.

I haven't really checked the other LBP sites apart from pursuing links as part of moderating, but from my experience with other forums I'd say a big plus that we have is not allowing "adult stuff" onto the forums. I don't just mean obscene pictures, but generally offensive language, bad mouthing of people, or too much relational conflict to spill into digital ink. While some of this is allowed, it's generally clamped down on. While it might sound counter-productive, I find when people are allowed to "talk as they want" of "mature content is fine" they can often become very childish and selfish, which often leads to a downfall in a forum.

That's my brief synopsis on one of the many things we are doing right. - Elbee23

Thanks Killian. I took an extensive E-Commerce program and have been to MANY forums as a result. Pinnacle might have been too strong a word in your opinion, but not in mine. I hope that ETG is getting rich off of his coding. He deserves it.

This is the only LBP site with MY epicness :kz:

... Ok, seriously, we do kinda have a head start... CC managed to get us to the top pretty soon after he registered with his report on LBP from when he played it at the expo, then... yeah :O

Kinda weird since he is still 17 and was 16 when he started, so one who is essentially a kid managed to make this win

... Ok, seriously, we do kinda have a head start... CC managed to get us to the top pretty soon after he registered with his report on LBP from when he played it at the expo, then... yeah :O

Kinda weird since he is still 17 and was 16 when he started, so one who is essentially a kid managed to make this win

... K I'm done :/

Yeah but the kids understand computers so easily now; having grown up with them. If only I were 15 years younger than I am

I have another question:

What other games do you like where you can build levels, objects e.t.c apart from LBP?

I've had experience modding Rome: Total War and I loved creating maps in the old Worms games. I was also into Line Rider for a while before LBP came out.

I haven't really had much experience with "modding" or "creating" stuff in games. I use to do film work when I was a teenager on an amatuer level, but building game content, even with games that have an "easy to use" editor, has generally been too complex and hard. That's one of the great things about LBP. It's so easy and accessible. Doing 2.5D really really well makes things alot easier to get one's head around than completely taking into account the third dimension. - Elbee23

What update to LBP, not currently announced, would you like most?

Liquids. Absolutely.

The ability to toggle the visibility of layers in create mode. Like in Photoshop/GIMP.

... and also... will you ever tell us what that "prize" was for making that image quilt or whatever?

The mosaic? I'm not sure what you mean by "prize".

I think he means your reason for sending it to them as a thank you. You will find out. Eventually.

And when are you throwing one of those contests you've been planning :O

We've got a couple of things cooking, but we're working on a few things at once at the moment, so we're not sure. I can definitely tell you that we'll have a very cool contest for Online Create in store, whenever that goes live officially.

Yes. The online create contest is really cool. Though it won't be out for a couple of months at least.

Would you support Mm's other games if they decided to make another game that didn't relate to LBP?

My first instinct is "Yes!", but obviously we'd have to make a decision based on the game itself. I have a strong feeling that if Media Molecule decides to make another game, it will be related to LittleBigPlanet, and that we will definitely support.

I'd like to think so, unless it was something like "Ultimate Soccer 4" but it's hard to imagine that such a great team could come up with something dull and unimaginative.

Do you ever worry that LBP will become boring and then the forums will die?

I wouldn't say "worry" - there's no logical reason to worry that people will suddenly just give up on LittleBigPlanet. With the PS3 price drop coming soon and the PS3 Slim on its way, I think we'll see a surge of activity, if anything.

Well every community dies eventually, but I can't see this one going anywhere soon considering the DLC Mm continue to pump out.

Do you like Muse?

Is that a band? I've never heard of it.

Yep. I have a few of their songs.

What do you look for in a level?

I like innovative, "wow" gamplay, and at least moderate visuals.

Gameplay, Scenery and Originality!

Do you spend more time on LBP or LBPC?

Recently, it's been half-and-half, but usually LBPCentral takes up the majority of my free time.

I usually have LBPCentral open in another tab whenever I'm using my laptop so probably here.

Do you have a crown?

If I did, I wouldn't mention it to anyone.

Yep.

I thought he was referring to the sarcastic (although he didn't realize it)comment you made on Muse.

No, it wasn't sarcastic - I was serious. I've never heard of Muse. Maybe it was the "" that made it seem sarcastic. In that case, whoops! Anyway, it couldn't have been that, because I made those edits after he posted. About 30 minutes afterwards, actually.

But then I remembered it was English. Unless he doesn't know that of course. In any case I am not sure.

How much of your life does supervising the community and website take up?

On average, about 8 hours a day. It's basically a day job, without the pay.

A few hours. It varies a lot! I would be active on the forums regardless of my moderation responsibilities.

Do you guys get annoyed by people saying "I LIEK PIE?"
If so, I'm sorry.

No, unless it's used off-topic as spam.

Do anyone of you play LBP? I never seen anyone play yet, but a user.

I do, a lot.

What happened to QuozL? Did he give notice and resign?

He gave us a bit of a notice, then resigned his post quietly.

What musical instruments do you guys play, and what are your favorite genres of music?

None. I am very musically disinclined. Lol. I don't listen to a ton of music, but when I do, it tends to be rock/alternative.

Hey, I'm pale green and mrsupercomputer is magenta. Can't say we'll check this too often, though.

I know, that green sucks, but all the good colors were taken.

Aww....poor comph. lol

Haha, I was orange, and then I realized that an old moderator had used it already. Then I had to frantically replace my responses (albeit there weren't very many of them).

What kinda of signatures do you guys like?
Clean look? Gunge look?
hidden name? Bold name? etc.

Well, I think my signature says it all. Although, I'm not terribly fond of having much more than just text. I suppose I'm just too used to the LogicPack one to remove it.

With all the moderating on this site and other stuff you may have to do how much time do you get to actually play LBP?

I get very little sleep. I probably spend about 1-3 hours on here, and somewhere between 1-12 hours a day playing LBP. It really depends on the day. If it's the weekend, I'm probably playing LBP.

My question for the mods is: Which one of you created the logic pack?

Mrsupercomputer, rtm223, ConfusedCartman, CCubbage, and I (comphermc) did. Bold indicates mods.

Im sorry if this question has been asked before but here it is: How do you become a moderator?
I have touhgt about this for a time now, but I don't wanna be a mod.

The first rule about becoming a mod is that you don't ask about becoming a mod.

Shudl this topic be unstickied? I feel it should. It's never used anymore. I feel special. Maybe a new Staff thread. Or something. Love.

Perhaps, but I wasn't around when it started. To be honest, it's too much hassle to edit these posts with the correct color and whatnot. Besides, nobody else wants to play...

Is light green a colour that is difficult to read on a light background?

Sure seems like it, eh? All the good colors were taken, though.

How about purple?
