Race Finish Gates Broken?

| I was playing a few story levels because I still haven't got 100%/aced all, but while playing them I noticed the finish gate that usually ends a race didn't work, I tried running backwards and forwards over the finish gate but it just didn't do anything at all. I then tried a few other story levels with races in to test them, no luck still broken. So I then went into create mode got out a start and finish gate, went into play mode and it worked fine, and the same with community levels. So basically what I want to know is; am I the only one with this glitch? Is there any way to fix this? Why is it only on story levels? Could someone try out a story level with a race in it to test this? Not that I really care about it seeing as all I'm really missing out on is getting the high score on some story levels, just curious as to why it's happening and if I'm the only one. | Wow, that's weird. I'll try to remember to check myself. It may depend on the layer you cross the gate in. I've had strange problems with that before.
