Who Else Is Getting Rock Band 2?

Archive: 15 posts

I'm hopefully going to buy it tomorrow. It will be my first Guitar Hero/Rock Band music game. I'm only getting a guitar though, I'm waiting for the Guitar Hero World Tour drums.

Anybody else getting it? Maybe we could, I don't know, jam.

EDIT: I can't figure out how to make my signature picture bigger. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, but yeah, it's not pretty like that.

You say you have GH4? What is that? I thought Guitar Hero 4 and World Tour were the same thing.

ROck band 2, not at all. The Drums are silent, the pedal is sturdy ( all made out of metal )

And the pads are pretty sturdy, and they're velocity pads.

If you can wait, get the GH:WT drums, if they're compatible and in my opinion they look better then Rock Bands drums, unless you have 60 dollars to spare for cymbals and a crash

I'm going to be all over Rock Band 2 as soon as it's released over here. The wait is killing me. I love the first one and I'm screaming for some of the new tracks on the second. One thing I do love is the frequency of the updates. Plus RB has had a fair few more free tracks than GH. And "Still Alive". So, whilst I may buy GH:WT when it comes out, I'll still prefer RB2.

Has anyone played GH: on Tour on the DS? It's surprisingly good. I'm now also on tenterhooks for GH:OT Decades.

Going to buy Rock Band 2 this afternoon. Just transferred the tracks from the Rock Band 1 disc. Should definitely fill up the next week and I hope to finish unlocking everything just in time for LBP...2008-10-19 19:58:00

I will certainly not. I've played some of the Guitar Hero-genre stuff, and...it's fake. Just no comparison. If people gave the same dedication to really learning an instrument rather than trying to well at this pseudo-musical game, we'd have a lot more musicians. Sure, Guitar Hero has started people into playing real guitar. But the game itself doesn't cut it.

Also, there's no Bass Hero, just so ya know.

you can play bass in the game, and it IS just a game.

Its not fake at all, it never claims to teach you real guitar, or anything like that, sure it 'simulates' a real guitar and things like that, but its not fake, its just a game. A fun game, that is alot easier and funner to play then real guitar, and your saying that its competing with real musicians. It isn't, real musicians don't drop guitar for guitar hero, nor do potential musicians play guitar hero and decide they like it more then real guitar, all it does is allows people who would never be able to play real guitar that well to have fun, and it, as you've rghtly said, encourages some others to learn real guitar.
